Lacks originality, has a cliche story and atmosphere and bug infested gameplay. Breakpoint is a ghost of what it could be until it receives a huge update that will fix them all.

While it contains disappointing pay-to-win microtransactions, the game can be thoroughly enjoyed for 100+ hours if you’re the kind of person that loves to explore and take on tougher enemies.

First of all, keep these two things in mind: Ghost Recon Breakpoint is an ONLINE game (even in PVE mode) and it brings a MEDLEY of almost every feature seen on the shooting genre. The game maintains the basis of the previous title (Wildlands): tactical shooter in an open world and brings tones of features. While doing the basics (shoot, collect, craft, manage inventory), you will also level character, class, gear, weapons, skill tree, reward system and much more. The game can be an endless adventure for some or OVERWHELMING for others. There are several SMALL BUGS that don't interfere with the gameplay but can become annoying after a few hours.

For all the clumsiness, there’s something here but it’s been watered down.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a gaming experience at most mediocre, packed with all the worst practices that the videogame industry can give and completely decimated by an embarrassing level of polish. This looter shooter seems to want to squander its large budget, failing to develop its premise in a way at least remotely meaningful.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint could have benefitted greatly by a longer development time, because as it stands, this feels like an incomplete product.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint will get some extra content, but it's clear that the focus of the game is now the multiplayer part, with the single-player working only as an afterthought. I can only hope that Breakpoint is only a step towards a more polished experience.

I’m torn on this conclusion, but I just feel like Ubisoft played it too safe with Breakpoint. There’s not a lot of risks being taken in this game, and it shows. With that being said, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a good game.

Playing with friends can be fun, especially when stealth is working. But whether the game "works" is the key question at all times

It's easy to be skeptical of Ubisoft, but I happen to find much to revere in reliability. It's a solid shooter, with a happy churn of loot, elevated by Jon Bernthal. Fun for the few days it holds your attention.

The player character customization is also a lot more detailed than its Division cousin, which of course sets up an opportunity to throw even more microtransactions at the player. The good news is that player progression isn't tied to anything that can be bought for real money. Though the in-world currency is sold for real cash, there is no need to buy it if you'd rather avoid the premium economy.

Feeling like an attempt at a best of experience for recent Ubisoft games, Ghost Recon Breakpoint fails to capture what has made the series special in the past in all of the important areas.

The empty spaces between checkpoints are dull, and the gunfights can be repetitive without a partner in crime. But behind all of its faults, even its painfully jingoistic overtones and its overtly militaristic design hides its true entertainment value.

In the end, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint never finds its groove.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a messy game that half-heartedly tries to do too many things, resulting in a game that lacks a firm identity as to what it wants to be.

Ghost Recon has moved far away from its tactical military roots, and if you are returning to the series after a long hiatus, you will be disappointed. However, if you’re a fan of Wildlands and modern open-world shooters, then you’ll enjoy this game. For me, it throws too much into the mix and doesn’t really nail any of it, and due to this you are left with a decent shooter which is far from the glory days of Advanced Warfighter. With that said, I award Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint a Thumb Culture Silver Award.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint has been one of the most disappointing titles of the year, and a significant step-back for the franchise, as well as the publisher.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is an agonizingly boring experience that drags and features a story of complete nonsense.

Sadly, for all of those great challenges in Ghost Recon Breakpoint that are aimed directly at your skills and abilities, there are 14 more targeting your patience. The experience is only made more frustrating when you think about Wildlands, because the formula felt like it had been figured out. Everything was done right. A sequel to that game should've been an easy home run, but Breakpoint is more of an incredible misfire.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is a tactical shooter with arcade elements that brandishes a new look, the looter-shooter. Though the game could stand on its own without that element, it at least doesn’t take away from the core gameplay.
