My Friend Pedro Reviews
My Friend Pedro is easily one of the most stylish and action-filled games of the last decade. It’s breakneck speed to the finish line left me wanting more. It’s a great case for the age-old argument “are video games art?”. For my money, I think My Fred Pedro is.
Overall though, I did rather enjoy My Friend Pedro. It’s far from perfect, but there’s lots of ingenuity and ambition on display here from the folks at Deadtoast. Though the plot was a bit psychotic and hard to parse at times, the humor kept me invested. For $19.99 I got about 10 hours of gameplay out of it, and had a good time. If nothing else, this is another worthy game that Devolver Digital has in their stable. Now I just hope we get a sequel that smooths over the issues I mentioned and explains the ending of the game…
All in all My Friend Pedro handily delivers what it promises, bonkers gunplay, challenging scenarios, and when you’re on top of things a ballet of violence...
My Friend Pedro may not be the most unique indie game ever but its stylish gun combat will certainly make you feel like a badass.
My Friend Pedro seems like the kind of game that either clicks with you or it doesn't. If you're a patient player who likes killstreaks, points, and stylish gameplay, you might like this a lot. If you're like me and have less patience for a game that feels unintuitive for the first 20 levels out of 40, the final product might not click so easily.
My Friend Pedro can be an absurdly stylish action game when everything aligns but you'll just as likely find yourself slipping over its unwieldy controls.
I did leave My Friend Pedro wanting more. But I also have to admit, I have all these videos of slow-motion backflip guns-akimbo kills saved on my Switch now: pulling them off was no easy feat either, and in an odd way the game makes you feel proud of these achievements
My Friend Pedro will have you doing a lot of killing over and over but how much and how long you enjoy it will likely differ from person to person. I personally found it to get a little repetitive over time but that’s not to say I didn’t enjoy my time with the game.
My Friend Pedro is a wild ride full of high-octane action, but the game's balletic bullet catharsis is marred by the cumbersome controls and lack of clear direction.
If you're looking for a game that has plenty of bullets and blood, don't turn down Pedro's friendship request.

My Friend Pedro has its flaws, but the gunplay here is freaking amazing.

Pedro is very unique and skilled gun fighter and there is a lot of blood, dead bodies and bananas. But we want much more of this!

While a few finicky mechanics and a lack of content outside the campaign keep this from getting a universal recommendation, $20 still gets you a memorable experience and offers a deliciously fun twist on the sidescrolling shooter formula.
If there is one word that can describe My Friend Pedro, it is fluidity. All gameplay is based on the plasticity of movements, the cinematographic choreography and the remarkable moments - by quality or mediocrity - resulting from the player's action. With a disjointed narrative and few post-final incentives, the final result is still very positive, presenting a remarkable, addictive and extremely fun experience.

Perfectly sized, tons of fun, and endlessly replayable, My Friend Pedro is one of the more stylish indie releases we’ve seen in 2019 and deserves a place in your library.
Friend Pedro is a ridiculously good time; challenging, stylish, incredibly fun and endlessly playable. Do yourself a favour and make this game YOUR friend.
My Friend Pedro is like if Sonic the Hedgehog went on a drug-fueled killing spree. It's a ridiculous whirlwind of flashy dives, stylish shooting, and accidentally amazing trick shots that refuses to take itself seriously.
My Friend Pedro is the new Hotline Miami we are all waiting, with a psycho floating banana named Pedro who suggests killing everyone. Lovely.
