Disco Elysium Reviews
Disco Elysium presents an unforgivable experience that is only occasionally weighed down by pacing issues, but otherwise soars to new heights of interactive storytelling.
An original approximation of what it would be like to play a tabletop role-playing game on your computer or console, an original plot and the feeling of reading a good book in which you are the protagonist. All that and more is Disco Elysium, a unique game that any fan of the genre should have in their library.

This is a weird, disjointed review, not spoiling anything and deliberately avoiding the details. Rightly so. I think Disco Elysium is an exceptional game but won’t resonate with action gamers or even RPG players who prefer more hands-on actions. You read a lot of text, there’s quite a bit of fluff, plenty of distractions and progression feels painfully slow at times. Yet, if you can dig those beats then your entire being becomes sucked into a whirlpool of depressive thought-provoking nonsense. Enlightening assessment of the sublime nature of human existence and the existentialism of a predetermined character. I love this game and all it purports to be even if inside I don’t always agree with its underlying message. It’s gratifying to play such a game where developers cleverly step outside comfort zones and the proverbial box.
Disco Elysium is a mercilessly deep RPG, both in terms of its well-written world and the sheer volume of decisions it tracks.
Disco Elysium is an absolute triumph of character, narrative, and player choice. One of the most intoxicating and dazzlingly dense RPGs of its generation that deserves to be in the GOTY conversation.
Disco Elysium is a special role-playing game that promises much deeper and more beautiful story titles in the future by presenting a deep storyline, extraordinary characterization for characters, impressive choices, very different character traits for the main character, all of which are effective and have their proper impact on gameplay.

In my opinion, Disco Elysium is the game of the year for 2019. It shows how you can make creative, engaging, and well-written games entirely using writing and player choice without falling into the simple "visual novel" style. It's biting, clever, and witty, and it deserves to take its place among Planescape and Fallout: New Vegas. It's a must-play for any fans of RPGs and a genuine modern classic that will hopefully set the stage for many things to come.
Disco Elysium is a definition of a unique game. ZA/UM has created a perfectly designed detective RPG game that's like nothing else! perfect character development and customization make Disco Elysium a deep RPG and effect of decisions on story makes every play through a different and unique experience. Disco Elysium is one the 2019's biggest surprises and of course best games,

I loved it, though I barely understood much of it. It's a wild ride despite being mostly walls of text.
Disco Elysium is a very special RPG that most of your time will be spent on reading. It features a well-written detective story, various tricky skill trees, and memorable characters. This game might be the best one of its kind. But if you can't stand reading for a long time, just don't try it.

Disco Elysium is a landmark title in gaming that will hopefully set a new standard for quality game design and writing. Everything offered within feels like a work borne from passion and talent, but that latter part’s what has me worried. I would love for Disco Elysium to somehow plant a flag that boldly proclaims, “Here! THIS is what we need to be doing and THIS is how you do it!” Even if a developer understands the “passion” part of the equation and puts in the time and resources, that doesn’t always mean they have a talent for this caliber of game. This review’s already gone on far too long, but I have to convey the affection I have for the central protagonist and his companion — their chemistry. Despite how much of a screw-up he is, I still love him for all his quirks and failings. And I made him that. Perhaps he’s a reflection of myself in some way since I have finally, for the first time ever, been given the true freedom to create the protagonist I want and not some flawless, altruistic knight who’s come to save the day.
Disco Elysium is a truly magnificent game not just for every RPG lover out there, but for any gamer looking for something more than simple entertainment. Get ready for dozens of hours of intellectual exercise – ZA/UM’s title elevates the entire gaming world, bringing the medium closer to true and meaningful art form.

It's impossible not to fall for Disco Elysium, from its intriguing murder detective work to the world it depicts, not to mention the voices inside your own head. It's an experience that could easily make the top of some Game of Year lists and for good reason.
Disco Elysium is a difficult game to describe, but it's easy to recommend. One of the most inventive games in recent memory, it's an often cynical, mean-spirited RPG that's nonetheless full of beauty and humanity. While its obsession with the nastier parts of the human psyche will definitely turn some people off, the depth of its story and systems reward a deep dive into the mire, as do its beautiful art and writing.
If you are a fan of RPGs and want to play something that mixes up the genre, I cannot recommend this game enough.
Disco didn't die, but someone did and you have to find out who and whodunnit!
Disco Elysium is a deep, sharply written, unique blend of noir-detective fiction and traditional pen-and-paper RPGs.
A truly outstanding piece of art, Disco Elysium is an RPG that warrants playing over and over again.
Finally, a roleplaying game where you play a role instead of “press button, make the number go up.”
The best RPG in years, Disco Elysium is the kind of game that makes you want more from all the other games --a groundbreaking and absolutely essential masterpiece.
