It's not perfect – the in-game dialogue is well-written but rough around the edges, with plentiful typos and grammar confusion – but that's not enough to distract from Ministry of Broadcast's terrific level design and superb visuals. Nothing new here, but what it offers is, quite simply, a very, very, very, very good cinematic platformer.

An odd combination of George Orwell's 1984, puzzle platforming and comedy, which doesn't blend as well as you'd hope. As good as the setting is, it doesn't make up for the rigid platforming or out of place jokes.

Ministry of Broadcast is a modern-day step platformer, warts and all.

Ministry of Broadcast has some weaknesses but also a lot of style. So much it feels original even if you can clearly see Pince of Persia, Flashback or other classics inside his shell. All of this wouldn't be possibile without his strong narrarive and his on-point irony: there's nothing better than laughing to force your brain to work.

The game does a fine job of narratively showing the way in which a person can be broken down and made to believe anything.

Ministry of Broadcast is very much like the games it takes inspiration from. But the insanely unreliable controls and the obnoxious slog of the game's tedious, trial-and-error platforming sections will likely try the patience of anyone who isn't looking for a blast from the past.

If you loved Orwell's 1984 (and traditional platforming), playing Ministry of Broadcast is a good idea.

Despite looking visually attractive, Ministry of Broadcast disappoints with its repetitive gameplay mechanic and underwhelming plot execution.

With its interesting setting and its hilarious, sarcastic sense of humor there's a good chance you might be able to force your way through some of the more frustrating parts. However, others may find that those frustrating sequences happen more often than deemed acceptable to put up with. Add the fact that every death leads to a crow taking an antagonistic shot at the player, an aspect that has an ability to be funny one second and incredibly annoying the next, and Ministry of Broadcast becomes a game in which the term "your mileage may vary" heavily applies.

Harkening back to earlier days with a gameplay style reminiscent of the likes of classics like Prince of Persia, Ministry of Broadcast is a throwback I can really appreciate...

Ministry of Broadcast offers a thoroughly entertaining platform-puzzling experience that’ll hook you in with its uniquely grim (and often comical) narrative. The puzzle design is clever throughout and some of its enigmas will take some real thinking to solve, though it’s possible to rely on a bit of luck at times too. The platforming is also solid throughout, even if it could be a little unforgiving in places – just be prepared to die a lot if you don’t hit every jump perfectly… If you loved the likes of the Oddworld titles or the original Prince of Persia, Ministry of Broadcast will certainly tick plenty of boxes for you. It’s old-school, challenging, and intricate in design, but it’s also so damn fun to play.

Ministry of Broadcast is a game like no other. Strangely cerebral and creatively deranged until the last possible moment, Ministry of Broadcast will absolutely challenge the platforming fans while providing endless amusement and frustration to the problem-solving crowd. The overall storyline may not make the most sense, but the immersion is definitely there and you’ll be too busy trying to get through it alive to pay much attention. Above all, you’ll walk away from the experience wondering if you really beat the game or just survived the ordeal. If you’re a fan of platformers, pixel art, or just really want to give your brain a brutal workout, you must pick up a copy of Ministry of Broadcast.

MOB is unique, the type of game I’m pleased to have the pleasure of experiencing. It’s different and I was drawn in by all the weirdness. The platforming had me frustrated and angry at various points though especially in the last half of the game. But I insisted on pushing through to see the conclusion for curiosity. Had the gameplay been polished off I would see this as an easy recommendation. However, in its current state I would just be a little cautious.

Very interesting and humorous game with gametime lasting about 7 hours. It will definitely entertain you with it's great level design and frequent jokes. Even though it will not properly tell you what is going on and can sometimes make you angry because of it's hard difficulty, it is a nice game worth the money.

Ministry of Broadcast ended up being an enjoyable throwback to the heyday of cinematic platformers, but its weighty gameplay wasn’t what I enjoyed the most about it. Even though it played and felt like something the developers of Flashback would have developed twenty-five years ago, the best thing about it is its dreary atmosphere and dark sense of humor.

Ministry of Broadcast is a fascinating intersection of politics and psychology. It’s also an interesting mix of several video game genres: narrative-driven adventure, classic platformer, and puzzle game.

This a good choice for those who are looking for a deeper story driven videogame and as a puzzle/platformer inspired by the great classics of the genre, it hits all the right notes.
