SnowRunner Reviews
Snowrunner might only be thoroughly enjoyed by a small niche audience, but they will have the time of their life with it. It is bigger, prettier, and a bit more fun than its predecessor, even if the camera controls are exponentially more annoying to deal with this time around.
Basically, if Forza Horizon 4 and American Truck Simulator got drunk and hooked up one night then SnowRunner is what I imagine the result would be. A slower paced game that challenges throughout and stays fresh with a good range of vehicles, upgrades and locations to explore and a great deal of customization.
SnowRunner's glacial pace won't appeal to everyone, but this unique haulage simulation manages to transform everyday terrain into an enemy you need to tame. This is a game that's less about the destination and all about the journey you take; in that sense it's unmatched, and wildly rewarding in a way that few other open worlders are.
Once you get your head around the time and patience aspect, Snowrunner is going to engross you. It won’t win any Game of the Year awards for being niche, but then neither does Train Simulator. If you can convince some friends to join you, then even better. But even as a solo experience, there’s some absolute joy to be had when you get stuck into it.
A beautiful-looking simulation with very specific appeal that will likely turn off as many people as it interests. If you're in the latter group, however, this is an indispensable physics toybox.
Whilst the opening hours suffer from a lack of communication, SnowRunner is an excellent and rewarding vehicle simulation.
Whether you tackle the harsh weather conditions with friends, or you brave it alone, SnowRunner will challenge your determination, patience, and strategic thinking. Fans of the climbing and slow-paced movement aspect of Death Stranding will most likely find pleasure in the purposefully clunky, realistic, and heavy controls and mechanics within this game as well. Although the one key aspect of the game is to go from A to B (via very stressful pathways), it’s a very therapeutic and relaxing game in which you become both mentally and physically more adept the longer you play. This isn’t your standard no-physics simulation game, this is about as realistic as you can get without having your living room covered in mud, water, and snow.
SnowRunner has its issues, but its unique brand of truck simulation and off-road adventuring is enough to keep you entertained for hours on end.
While SnowRunner has a few quirks here and there, overall it's a fantastic game of exploration and brute-force driving.
Simultaneously a big leap over the MudRunner titles and a compelling effort in its own right, SnowRunner's improved focus on the hard fought conflict between man, machine and nature results in a highly rewarding and satisfying driving simulator that is quite unlike anything else.
I hope the flickering headlights of a glowing review are enough to help players find SnowRunner through the fog.
SnowRunner is an incredibly challenging and rewarding trucking simulatior despite some minor flaws.
SnowRunner is all I want to play right now.
SnowRunner is a game thoroughly, single-mindedly, in love with the open road. It just happens that it's the kind of love that's bred by getting that road so thoroughly under your nails, you occasionally have to wonder whether it's actually hate. Care, attention and time will show that SnowRunner is a passion project worth putting the extra mile in for.
This deep off-road sim delights in giving you a hard time, but every victory is all the sweeter for it.
SnowRunner is an excellent game with wonderful visuals and great controls. It also has a massive amount of content for players to sink their teeth into. The game is slow and can be frustrating, but it's very much worth getting down and dirty with this one.
Snowrunner is not for everybody, even if you are a fan of driving games. But if you are attracted to off road realistic driving it is engaging, and full of strategic elements.

While it's an off-road simulator with good vehicle variety and excellent terrain physics, unresponsive steering and creeping monotony damages the overall experience
SnowRunner is an exciting game - despite it being so slow. It's a game for hardcore players with patience and endurance. Even the last mile can mean a stop to your journey. The game gives you a lot of freedom - three open worlds are yours to explore with many quest to fulfill. It's up to you which you tackle first, but you need to decide which upgrades or new vehicles are necessary to get first. SnowRunner has beautiful environments with a great atmosphere - there are some technical hiccups like small fonts and complex menus but it's overall an enjoyable experience for everyone who likes this kind of simulation.
