Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a good, funny and light release that uses the same mechanics as the series from which it is inspired.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands expands on Borderlands 2's Assault on Dragon Keep DLC in some interesting and meaningful ways, but feels like it struggles to stretch out what was a fantastic gimmick for a shorter expansion to fill a full-length campaign without falling back on repeating its material. Gunplay is typically great and the numbers-go-up power fantasy as gratifying as ever, but even though it's notably less aggressive than Borderlands 3 in its attempts to make you laugh, there are still plenty of limp pop culture references and cringeworthy 'topical' gags that are likely to grate on even fans of the series' brash humour.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a Borderlands game. It's not a spin-off, it's not inspired by, and it's not a mix of Borderlands and D&D - it's just Borderlands. It's a waste of a great concept, and comes with the typical Borderlands drawbacks of potentially grating humour, way too many guns, way too small storage space, and a lot of always-on characters who aren't given enough room to breathe. It's fun, but it's nothing special. The worst part is it could have been.

For all the giggles Wonderlands gave me, a lot of the humor relies on certain Borderlands tropes that have never been my cup of tea. My main problem is that if the series has one good joke, it proceeds to grind the joke down to the gums, wringing all possible humor out of it.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is a parody of the role-playing board game Borderlands that, as a spin-off, fulfils both in terms of gameplay and the new progression systems, delivering a fun and addictive proposal that is halfway through the interpretation of its overworld. A remarkable game that I enjoyed, beyond the heavy text, because in the shooting and aesthetics it shows its greatest virtues.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands retreads the same mechanical and narrative ground as Borderlands 3, ultimately creating a chapter in the franchise that's fun but forgettable.

Better than Borderlands 3, but not quite reaching the heights of Borderlands 2 at its best.

‎Tiny Tina's Wonderlands is the first spin-off of the Borderlands franchise, and it's a great installment that has a lot of soul of its own. Although playably and artistically it is very solid, in themes of the story they could have tried to do something much more surprising, instead of being something so "continuist".‎

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands doesn't disfigure among other members of the prestigious Borderlands saga, even if it doesn't bring significant novelties besides the reinterpretation in a fantasy key, which turns out to be a winning idea anyway. Hilarious and irreverent dialogues, a satisfying gunplay and an end-game that hardly gets boring are the elements that will keep you glued to the game.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands plays it safe, never leaning enough into its fantasy elements or bringing any significant changes to the Borderlands formula, but offering more of the fun looting and shooting the main series is known for. It boasts better writing and humor than Borderlands 3 while throwing in interesting spells and class powers that spice up its otherwise familiar combat system.

A perfectly fine addition to the Borderlands series with some great new mechanics and a delightful theme, but it is practically the same as its predecessors for better or worse

Should you be in the market for more of Borderlands' frenetic looter-shooter mania, then Tiny Tina's Wonderlands fits the bill, its uniquely daft take on fantasy tropes and tabletop board games proving robust and infectiously good fun.

I’m going to be honest here and say that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands doesn’t make the best impression. Despite a fantasy-themed facelift and a bigger emphasis on character freedom, the issues that plagued previous entries in the series are still too numerous for it to feel like a substantial change. However, I’m still finding things to enjoy in it which, even as a Borderlands skeptic, at least makes it worth the price of admission for anyone playing this with friends.

Following the disaster that was Borderlands 3's writing, there was some serious pressure on Gearbox to deliver this time around. Tiny Tina's Wonderlands isn't a spectacular game and doesn't live up to Borderlands 2, but I doubt most people will care about that. The simple fact is that we got a Borderlands game that is fun with a story that isn't painful to experience. That's a win in my book.

A spin-off starring a memorable cast, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands may have played it a little too safe to make it stand out as a looter-shooter at the top of the pile.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands introduces a new setting and some welcome new mechanics to the classic Borderlands formula, but overall the game feels like a step back from Borderlands 3 both in terms of size and gameplay, and the story feels like it's borrowing a bit too much from Assault on Dragon Keep. Andy Samberg is a delight, though.

Published as a separate game, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands has managed to bring a different flavor to the Borderlands series, but it is a game with a lot of untapped potential.

Those of you looking for an impressive looter shooter fantasy should highly consider purchasing Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Just don't expect a revolutionary experience or maybe an actual Borderlands 4.

Given that all my progress from the review build is about to be wiped, I’m not sure I’ll go through it all again to start re-grinding the endgame, but perhaps on a new class. Melee this time? That fact is what I really want to see is some substantial leaps forward for this series, as it’s starting to feel pretty dated in a lot of ways, but I also have to understand what Wonderlands is, a game Gearbox made from home during the pandemic that’s meant to be a stopgap before Borderlands 4. And I do think it succeeds at that job well enough to please most fans.

The excellent gunplay and the good RPG features are the best elements that Gearbox has created in this weird-yet-great Borderlands fantasy spin-off. While not flawless, Tiny Tina's Wonderlands can be enjoyed in 20+ hours, even if it can become boring if approached in single-player mode.
