As Dusk Falls is fair experience, but compared to the other representatives of its genre, it manages to stand out only as being the closest to a tv series, rather than a videogame. The plentitude of choices creates numerous ramifications that will encourage the fans of the genre to go through multiple playthroughs in order to discover every outcome.

Interactive adventure games don't always need surprising, original, or dense stories. As Dusk Falls is proof that a well-written and acted crime drama is enough to get us involved in a new universe. Although the gameplay is simple, the interactivity in this game is manifested through the player's decision-making power and the most diverse consequences of their choices.

Caroline Marshall's first independent project may not have panned out exactly as planned, but it shows enough potential in its story telling to convince some to give it a try, and if you already own a Game Pass subscription then you are just investing your time, which will probably worth it.

As Dusk Falls is a cracking crime thriller and feels like the exact thing we should be seeing on a regular basis from Xbox Game Studios on Game Pass. Its 6-8 hour length feels just right for a game of this nature, and that also makes it feel right at home on Xbox's subscription service. Oh, and the fantastic storyline that never let us wriggle free of its grip? Yeah, that's not a bad reason to play it on Game Pass either.

‎If you're looking for a game that gives you a deep story, and you have no problem with limited gameplay in terms of live action, but deep in its decision mechanics, then As Dusk Falls is the game you need. On the playable side I think As Dusk Falls only fails at occasional action events. They are too simple and after doing them several times, they lose the emotion. As far as graphics and sound are concerned, the result is mixed.‎

One of the best interactive movies with a great story and a memorable cast of characters. The gameplay is kind of questionable but the amount of possible different outcomes is staggering.

As Dusk Falls attracts with a depressing and touching plot about the tangled, dramatic experiences of several heroes, whose fates accidentally merged. The story can draw you in even for several hours, captivating and evoking strong emotions, because it is focused on the film experience. Interior/Night is a successful debut, but I'm convinced that Caroline Marchal's team can do better.

As Dusk Falls is held together by a strong start and good characters, despite the narrative deflating itself in the second half. Its choice and consequence system lacks real significance and more polish was needed for its atypical visual design.

As Dusk Falls is a fun little entry into the multiplayer movie-game genre. It's neat to see a crime thriller as opposed to a horror movie and that alone lends it some charm. Unfortunately, the second half of the story meanders and is more disconnected than the first half, but it still is worth experiencing at least once. It doesn't quite stick the landing as hard as you'd hope, but it has a lot of potential as a party game.

As Dusk Falls is an interactive drama that tells a compelling story with diverse paths and real impact of your decisions. The art style can be a bit distracting.

Being practically an interactive movie, it may bore those who are looking for their time with video games to have action. On the other hand, those who enjoy this type of experience, will find an adventure that is worth knowing, especially if we consider that it will arrive on Xbox Game Pass on its opening day.

As Dusk Falls is a tense and exciting drama about crime and the families who get involved in it. If you love crime-drama TV shows, then you'll feel right at home with this game. This storytelling video game feels intense and interesting at every turn. However, you should be aware of its shortcomings and limitations before purchasing.

As Dusk Falls truly convinced me, despite the compromises of a fledgling independent team. The adopted graphical style might displease realism and interaction purists, and the bland QTEs, but the narrative's quality and multiple branches overshadow these drawbacks. If you let yourself be captivated by the intertwined fates of the Holt and Walker families, you'll encounter a ruthless and multifaceted story with characters you can't help but grow attached to, striving to save them from life's cruel circus of situations. An imperfect debut in every aspect, but showcasing the founders' veterans' skill in branching adventures. Definitely a title to try and enjoy, perhaps with friends. Hopefully, a sequel will come, given the open ending.

Whilst As Dusk Falls can be done and dusted in 6-7 hours, it may come across as a bit short for some. But the content that is there oozes quality in visual presentation, marvellous voice acting and intense decision making. The fact they have made the game interactive with several players using different devices gives the game longevity with friends

Interactive narrative games might not be for everyone, but As Dusk Falls is still one that I’ll recommend to just about everyone. It keeps you constantly engaged, with high stakes and choices that actually matter, no matter how seemingly insignificant they might seem. This is one of the first interactive dramas that’s managed no not only hold my attention, but kept me so captivated that I finished my first playthrough in one sitting. Then I went back for more. If you’re on the fence about checking it out, I implore you to not let the curtain fall on As Dusk Falls.

As Dusk Falls impresses with a very unique style and uses this paired with very good acting performances from the characters. Apart from QTEs and decisions, there is no real gameplay, but this is not a real problem due to the suspenseful narrative. Unfortunately, it gets a little rough in the second half and the finale is too abrupt and open-ended, but fans of the genre will definitely be very well entertained.

As Dusk Falls completely innovates in the field of interactive drama, bringing to the table a good story, but one that has extremely many and balanced branches, based on the countless choices it gives the player.

After 6 chapters and about 6 hours of playing, the credits roll and you are immediately curious about other outcomes with other decisions, which makes the replay value of this game relatively high compared to, for example, Life is Strange, which is actually barely has different outcomes. This game does have that. After Dusk Falls grabs you by the throat from the start and continues to impress until the end, although the story drops off a bit after chapter 3, when you are halfway through. Zoe in particular feels like an unnecessary character. The game has almost no gameplay but mainly quick-time events. So you can't walk and the like. Still, the story is compelling enough to keep the game very interesting, especially by keeping everything to the point. The magnificent artwork-like graphics and the choice of stop-motion make the design a hit. With great soundtracks, especially in the main menu, I can only say that this next-gen version is a must-play for every movie game lover.

As Dusk Falls is an amazing title that's unlike anything else on the market today. The one thing that hurts it a bit is the lacking visual style, but if you can ignore that, you can look forward to a thrilling story.
