The Knight Witch Reviews
The Knight Witch is a pleasant surprise. Its interesting combat engages with its challenge and the simple story makes you want to see Rayne's journey to its conclusion. The game has its problems (such as difficulty spikes), but it's certainly a recommendation for those who like bullet hell with a touch of exploration.

The Knight Witch is a nice-looking game with hand-drawn visuals, charming characters, and an interesting story. The game combines twin-stick shooting, deck building, and Metroidvanias in a unique way I have never played before!
The Knight Witch doesn’t execute all of its ideas perfectly but it manages to be a beautiful and fun Metroidvania in the end. The story and characters are interesting, the twin-stick shooting action feels good, and the world is really fun to explore as you unlock new abilities. The card system could use some changes but outside of that I really enjoyed my time with this one.
The Knight Witch is a beautiful game that holds a lot of promise with its blend of twin-stick shooting and Metroidvania exploration. I just wish that its gameplay was finer-tuned to not be as clunky and disconnected as it currently is.
Admittedly I have an awful habit of reading a synopsis of a game and glancing at screenshots and writing a game off sometimes. With The Knight Witch, I saw Metroidvania and saw the card system and was a little bit hesitant to pick this one up for a review. After playing this for close to 20 hours, I have to say I am absolutely glad I did and I became besotted with everything about the game.
What happens by adding to a solid metrodivania some mechanics taken from shoot'em'ups and card games? The Knight Witch is the answer. Deckbuilding and bullet hell action combined with a lavish presentation and a narrative rich in contemporary messages allow the Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team production to become a simply explosive alchemical potion. A few ingenuities in game design and some balancing issues do not prevent the title from being one of the most interesting products on the independent market this late 2022.

For enthusiasts of challenging classics like Nintendo's toughest titles or adrenaline-pumping shooters akin to Contra, Knight Witch delivers hours of exhilarating entertainment. However, if you're seeking a traditional Metroidvania experience, you might find yourself slightly underwhelmed. Despite this, Knight Witch's difficulty warrants at least one playthrough for avid gamers.

Combining Metroidvania concepts with some twin-stick shooting, The Knight Witch swings big… and gets on base
The Knight Witch has a great mixture of gameplay styles and a fulfilling soundtrack that players will want to explore from top to bottom. While it has some technical issues, it doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy this special indie title.
The Knight Witch is a blend twin-stick bullet hell shooter and the Metroidvania that succeeds in the face of some technical problems by virtue of its enjoyable story and wonderful universe, expressed in beautifully hand drawn visuals and filled with endearing characters. Whilst not perfect, the gameplay is enjoyable and requires a good amount of skill - there’s just a few elements that just needed a little more polish in order to really make the most impact. It feels to me like the opening entry in a wonderful franchise, where new spells and features could lead to even bigger and better things in the future.
A different metroidvania, with a solid bet on aerial combat and the use of cards, which ends up falling into some of the traps of its genre.

The Knight Witch is a good game but it’s the little details that separate the good games from the great. While the game excels on the visual and audio front, some frustrating gameplay/game design takes away from the experience.
If you like the genre at all or don't mind a good challenge, The Knight Witch is an almost obligatory purchase. A national product with an almost perfect finish.

Even with flaws, and a few too many mechanics for me to truly get lost in, I had a surprising amount of fun with The Knight Witch. I wouldn’t have thought that a bullet hell SHMUP could fit so smoothly into a Metroidvania, but that aspect of the game worked for me. While its story and characters didn’t connect as strongly as I’d have liked, it has enough personality that players looking for an interesting take on the genre should consider it.
The Knight Witch tries to mix a Metroidvania with a bullet hell with quite mixed results. Not only it feels a little "unfair" even for the genre, but also the card mechanics doesn't feel as polished and functional as you might think.

Fans of exploration and shooters are strongly encouraged to try out The Knight Witch, because it’s a little indie title that’s going to charm you with both its story and its gameplay. What do you know? Mashing concepts together worked out pretty well here after all.
The Knight Witch is a story-driven, flying Metroidvania shoot ’em up deck builder RPG. You may think that is a weird combination that couldn’t possibly go together, like putting peanut butter on a hamburger. However, in both cases you would be wrong as these many different components come together to form a very pleasant experience that is more than the sum of its parts.
As a big fan of shmups, Knight Witch left a very good impression on me but it might not suit everyone. It may still follow the familiar adventure template, but this steampunk fairy tale has enough tricks to make itself stand out from the genre. If you haven’t been burned out by the genre then be sure to give this a look or add it to your wish list. Knight Witch is challenging, quirky and an example that there’s still some magic left in the 2D adventure genre.
The Knight Witch is a great mashup of two popular genres (Metroidvanias and bullet hell games), with fun and exciting action that keeps you on your toes. The story and likable characters further help enhance the experience.
The Knight Witch always keeps things fresh, and provides an engaging and flexible combat system within levels that never really becomes stale.
