Yet, I am once again hoping for another game, this time a River City Girls 3, that nails the landing and is awarded gold medals across the board. For now, River City Girls 2 is an enjoyable co-op romp with some rough edges that leaves me eager for more.
River City Girls 2 is a superb sequel that builds on the already brilliant original in small but meaningful ways.
If you love the first game then you should probably wait for updates and a price drop before picking up River City Girls 2. And if you never played the original game before - check it out first.

River City Girls 2 takes the series to the next level. More frantic fights and devastating combos, the game is a real improvement. The soundtrack is wonderful and you really have a good time. But we won't lie, the game is still expensive and suffers from loading, at least for the version on Nintendo Switch. If you're considering getting it, you might want to consider another version. Unless you don't mind. But know that having tested it on another console, the game probably would have deserved an extra half point. The fact remains that River City Girls 2 is a lot of fun, whether you're playing alone or with your buddies.

River City Girls 2 is a rare sequel that improves on almost every aspect of the original, a must play for fans of the first game, and highly recommended to anyone who likes beat 'em ups.
The open world levels that encourage players to invest in exploring them and very enjoyable local co-op multiplayer, as well as the gorgeous graphics and kicking soundtrack all help make this one of the best beat'em ups on the Nintendo Switch and one that fans of the genre will duly cherish.

River City Girls 2 almost ticks all the boxes: fun gameplay mixed with anime-style aesthetics and a humorous story. The jarring loading screens between each playable area annoyingly slow the pacing. It's enjoyable, it's just not as smooth as it should be.
River City Girls 2 tops its predecessor in nearly every way with more characters, enhanced combat, cross-platform play, and some of the best music you'll hear in a video game.
River City Girls 2 is one of those titles that’ll solidify itself as a comfort playthrough. Despite the problems I’ve noted, the core foundation is stronger than ever. It retains that fun loop the brawler genre has, with great RPG elements to throw an intriguing wrench into proceedings. With its short duration from start to finish, this is a romp that positions itself to be one that you can knock out in a weekend.
River City Girls 2 improves everything that the first game lacked, that might feel a little bit underwhelming but the game focused in it's gameplay and also gives its characters some depth which is something quite welcome for a game in the genre.

River City Girls 2 is a traditional beat-em-up where I played as two high school girls taking on the grand task of defeating a yakuza gang. While I did not play the first title in the River City series, I have played other titles published by Way Forward such as Dawn of the Monsters and was excited to give this game a shot. River City Girls 2 is a great beat 'em up, which builds on the success of its predecessor, maintaining fluid gameplay, RPG elements and, above all, its irreverent and attitude-filled setting. This gives the impression that it is very similar to the previous one, which is not exactly a defect if you liked the original. Despite occasional bugs and too many loading screens, this game is still a ton of fun and is one of the best beat 'em ups released in recent times. It is highly recommended for those who like the genre and mandatory for those who enjoyed the first RCG.

River City Girls 2 is a fantastic example of a modern arcade beat-em-up, with a ton of spunky personality and great, simple gameplay to back it up. While a little short, you’ll definitely enjoy the game, and get a lot more life out of it if you play with friends.
Despite its difficulty, Kyoko and Misako bring us again a fun sequel to a genre that never gets old, but that cleverly knows how to renew itself with humor and a fantastic character and scenario design.

River City Girls 2 takes the base of its first installment and expands it with new areas and other redesigned areas, new skills and more refined combat techniques, new playable characters, more missions, a longer duration and the best, online cooperative mode. But it also reuses entire mapping areas, enemies, resources, movements, themes from the soundtrack... River City Girls 2 is a very continuous sequel, although this is not necessarily a bad thing, if you repeat something notable, success is assured.

River City Girls 2 is a fairly good beat-'em-up title. It's certainly an improvement over River City Girls, although it carries with it some of the original's flaws, including tedious backtracking and repetitive enemy encounters.
