Hi-Fi Rush is one of those gems that only come around once in a blue moon, and while I know 2023 just started, I would without a doubt put Tango Gamework’s latest work as a Game of the Year contender.
Hi-Fi RUSH nails pretty much every aspect of its formula: art style, gameplay, technical production, characters, soundtrack. Even if its mechanics are after all quite simple, it's definitely a must-play game and a great new IP we'd love to see expanded in the future.

A fusion of genres, hack and slash and rhythm, which feed back seamlessly into super fun, accessible and challenging musical combat, all accompanied by a most charming cast of characters. Hi-Fi Rush is living proof that a tight, well-polished gameplay design can be enough to achieve greatness.

Hi-Fi Rush is a testament to how developers with a pedigree in making a particular game can still create something different but still exceptional, if given the proper resources.
When I really think about it, my only gripe with the game was that after each level the BPM visualiser that you can turn on turns itself back off again. So if you want it on, you’ll have to turn it back on at the start of every level.
Hi-Fi Rush is fresh, spontaneous, lighthearted and fun, with simply outstanding attention to detail, good graphics and aesthetics, and overall very enjoyable gameplay. The progression of the adventure flows like a charm, between ever-changing sequences and fights, mechanics that are constantly being introduced, crazy bossfights, and staging gimmicks that are nothing short of genius.

Look, I can wax poetic about this absolute wonder all I want, but you’ve got to play it to really see how epic this game is. Not even the biggest nitpicker could find a thing to make better in this, because it just does such a damn good job of being exactly what it aims to be. Do you like music? Do you like action games with a bit of platforming? Do you like charm and atmosphere in your games? If you answered “yes” to any one of those three, go boot up your console or PC of choice and find this gem, you owe it to yourself.
If you like hack 'n' slay games like DMC or Bayonetta in the slightest and are not appalled by the artstyle and the music you have to get Hi-Fi Rush. The game oozes fun, has a great presentation and follows it's central design ideas throughout the game. All in all Tango Gameworks convinces with its first non horror game and delivers the first surprise hit in 2023. Also petting Robo-cats never gets old.

Hi-Fi Rush has proven to be a fun title with extremely satisfying gameplay. It seems almost absurd that a team like Tango Gameworks has managed to package such an experience, but when you look at the historian of legendary producer Shinji Mikami, everything makes sense. Hi-Fi Rush inherits that naïve spirit, totally devoted to fun and gameplay, typical of productions such as Viewtiful Joe and God Hand, of that Clover Studio that was a new home for Mikami and Kamiya after the abandonment of Capcom. Director John Johanas has succeeded in the feat, demonstrating a captivating and well-packaged vision.

The game is an excellent example that combines action, rhythm and drama into a single experience. Accessibility features let you play it without any burden, even you are not familiar with rhythm games. Also, the cheerful soundtrack throughout the entire game will make you smile all the time.

Hi-Fi Rush is an absolute blast nailing almost every beat along the way to its smooth rhythm filled conclusion.
The characters are charismatic and humorous. The soundtrack, featuring official songs from Nine Inch Nails, The Black Keys, and The Prodigy, is sensational. In the end, there's no desire to repeat the levels, explore what's left behind (there are a few doors you can only open after the end of the game), and fine-tune the pace of our combos. Hifi Rush is guaranteed fun.

Hi-Fi Rush is immediately deemed an essential experience for gamers, lovers of a great hack-and-slash campaign, the rhythm-based connoisseur, or just a button mashing casual that wants to leap into action without cause. Quite possibly, this year's greatest video game thus far.
You can’t see rhythm. No one can. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Whether you can read music or not, whether you’ve mastered an instrument or can’t manage to play Hot Cross Buns, you are a rock star. You may not know it, you probably don’t believe it. But you’ll tightly navigate those progressions, finesse those pull-offs, and slice through those harmonies until you do believe it. Hi Fi Rush is going to make you believe you are a rock star.
Hi-Fi RUSH has been not only a surprise, but a very pleasant surprise. It cannot be hidden that in this writing we have been enthusiastic about the proposal of Shinji Mikami's team, who has shown with this game a versatility unknown to date. If you like third-person action games and you value the spice of using well-known songs and keeping the action at their own pace, you can't miss it.

Hi-Fi Rush is an awesome rhythm-based adventure which looks stunning, feels great to play, and has some amazing music… what else could you want? Whilst I’ll admit that some of the explorative elements of the game didn’t hit the heights seen in the combat and world design, every other aspect of Hi-Fi Rush is just top notch. 2023 was already shaping up to be an exciting year for Xbox thanks to some upcoming high-profile releases, but it’s already started off with one hell of a bang with Hi-Fi Rush. I don’t know how they managed to keep the reveal (and the release) a secret, but Tango Gameworks Softworks have given Xbox fans a real treat with what is easily one of the console’s best exclusive releases.
Hi-Fi RUSH is a rockin’ good time that invites every player to the party whether or not you’re into rhythm games or action games. It is a crowd-pleaser that finds a way to pull your heartstrings either with its soundtrack, story, or seamless gameplay. It is definitely a must-play for 2023 and can easily be one of the best games of the year, no two ways about it. Rhythm hybrid games will still be a hard sell for me, but if it is approached the same way, then Hi-Fi RUSH just set a standard for this novelty. It goes to show that a single gimmick alone doesn’t make a good game, but a combination of excellent mechanics and an entertaining story would rise above the cheap ploy.
Hi-Fi Rush is the ideal video game, and everything about it is geared toward having a good time. Despite its linear structure, there are plenty of hidden details to uncover, ensuring the experience is exciting. It's well worth the asking price, given that a single playthrough might last anywhere from ten to fifteen hours while still providing a satisfying experience. Hi-Fi Rush in a word, Perfect!
