Trepang2 Reviews
It doesn’t quite reach the highs of F.E.A.R., but the gunplay and fetishized gore manage to outclass the violence that Alma was capable of. Don’t expect to get emotionally invested or scared much. Trepang2‘s effort at horror feels more obligatory than anything else. At the very least, expect to have a fun time dancing in the blood.
It's stealthy, it's gruesome, it's tactical and it's gung-ho all in one fell swoop! Trepang² has the aesthetics of Crysis, the mechanics of 00s shooters and the gory story of B-movie horror-style games with all the blood-soaked trimmings. It feels retro in its action and it has a definite "FPS-version-of-House-Of-The-Dead" vibe to it with its bosses and progressively damaged and bullet-riddled scenery.
If you want pure action with spectacular shootouts, then Trepang2 is here for you. Although don't expect too much. You get adrenaline and intense action with decent numbers of enemies and poor story.

Trepang2 is a solid first-person shooter designed to satisfy all your action needs, offering countless explosions, millions of bullets, and the best Bullet-time experience since F.E.A.R.

I really appreciate Trepang2 as a debut for Trepang Studio. But next time it would be great to see something beyond good combat gameplay.

Trepang2 is an absolutely brilliant experience. Combat is insanely fun and satisfying, and the story is entertaining. The price tag may be a little high as the content is thin, but the fantastic gameplay loop makes it worth the time and the money.
Trepang2 is a fun and entertaining first-person shooter that unfortunately flew a bit under the radar.

Even among the never-ending mountain of shooters available these days, Trepang2 stands out by being a loud and mysterious endeavor that doubly rewards those committed to learning its ways. It’s an adrenaline-fueled roller coaster that is a ton of fun to play.
Trepang2 is a shooter that has taken nice things from Crysis but especially F.E.A.R.
"Despite its peaks of intensity, Trepang2 is more predictable and less focused than it should be."

Trepang 2 is the perfect example of what it means to be a good action FPS game.

with some of the most satisfying shooting on the market and a surprising amount of customization and cheat codes, Trepang2 is still worth a shot, whether you’re a fan of the franchise it’s inspired by or just a fan of exciting first-person shooters.
Trepang2 may not have the star power, seasonal content, expansion passes, or eSport following that other shooters have, but what it does have is a lean, thrilling shooter that is free from bloat and easy on the wallet.
Trepang2 offers a thrilling, action-packed experience that lives up to its promise of making you the ultimate badass. With its intriguing story, superhuman abilities, and brutal combat, it keeps players engaged from start to finish. If you have a penchant for over-the-top action and are not squeamish about gore, Trepang2 is a must-play title.
Trepang2 offers a short but very intense and recommendable experience.

Trepang2 will most likely be the surprise of 2023 for many gamers. The story is mediocre, and the graphics will probably not impress many spoiled gamers. But it's not for nothing that they say we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Especially if it's an indie title with a very friendly price tag. The miniature team of Canadian developers from Trepang Studios has put all their cards on gameplay and created an excellent frenetic FPS with horror elements that are great to play and won't let you rest. Or at least not your heart, because you'll be scared if you don't shoot.

Trepang2 succesfully merges gameplay mechanics from games like F.E.A.R. and Crysis into a cohesive whole, even thought it's a bit too old-fashioned and it lacks replayability or even multiplayer.

Trepang2 plays things rather safely. It isn’t going to throw out sudden curve balls – or at least not succeed in its attempt. Still, what is presented is masterfully done. Fans of 20 year old shooters will get a thrill for 8-20 hours or more. However, Trepang2 isn’t any sort of gateway into the genre and converts people who are used to modern shooter mechanics like regenerating health or aiming down the sights.
Trepang2’s gameplay is what carries most, if not, the entire game. Its lackluster missions paired with some of the most mind-numbing narrative and an attempt to recreate what made “F.E.A.R.” great without understanding the source material. If you want to just to mangle bodies, go for it, but there are far better shooters in 2023.

It takes the ultra fast-paced and epic combat last seen in F.E.A.R., and dials that up even further. The game does features some of the best first-person combat I have seen since the original F.E.A.R. in terms grounded environments and glorious amounts of destruction. Whilst it does have some issues, Trepang2 dedicates itself to just being a huge amount of fun with as little baggage as possible, and I can gladly say it succeeded at that.
