Most of all, I love and adore the work that Kazushige Nojima has done with the narrative (especially the ending that, once again, challenges everything we assumed about the FFVII plot), and he further entrenches himself as arguably the most innovative and creative writer in JRPGs with Rebirth.

This installment builds on and improves upon what made REMAKE so great, namely beautiful scenery and epic music in addition to the best in class battle system, while one of that game's flaws, namely the dearth of side content, although the story segments can still suffer from filler content at times. It expands, improves Nd subverts enough to create a thrilling experience for veterans and newcomers alike.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is awesome. FFVII Remake's excellent battle system is further enhanced, the story leaves the player (whether a veteran or newcomer to the series) intrigued to know what will happen, and there is an immense amount of content to be explored.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth knocks it out of the park. It takes the already excellent first game and expands it to a bigger and more populated world. The combat has been improved, the dungeon design is better, the story hits a lot more than it misses, and from start to finish, it was pretty much everything I could've wanted. Only a few nagging problems keep it from perfection, and it's a love letter to everything that makes Final Fantasy VII great.

Square Enix puts its best face forward with an excellent PC port for one of its best games in years. It's not totally perfect, but the truth is that they have managed to encapsulate the best of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on a new platform.

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is one of the best RPGs out there and it performs exceptionally well on Switch 2; well, if you can look past the slight drop in graphical quality when playing on the big screen. ☄️

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth takes a huge risk by retelling a legendary story in a far more vivid, deep, and personal way, delivering entirely new feelings to those who grew up with the original.

Following up on the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Rebirth takes us on an exploration of a vast world that has a lot to tell us. It is a game that addresses aspects related to the characters' pasts and prepares us to face an uncertain future, with the threat of Sephiroth looming constantly. By introducing new combat mechanics, the encounters offer a wide range of possibilities, allowing players to shape how they will approach battles. The way the title handles alternate realities, however, ends up making the plot a bit confusing to follow.

As a complete package, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for Switch 2 excels where it needs to. It makes some necessary compromises with the visuals and general map object clutter, but it’s a small price to pay for being able to experience the second stage of Final Fantasy VII’s remake trilogy.

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH on Switch 2 achieves something particularly difficult: translating a world of enormous scale to more limited hardware without losing its essence. Despite the inevitable technical limitations, the adventure retains its narrative power, exploration, and capacity to surprise. It's not the most spectacular version of the game, but it is one of the most impressive in terms of adaptation. It is, in essence, the same great work, now with a different way of being enjoyed.

While Final Fantasy VII Rebirth certainly pushes the Nintendo Switch 2 to its absolute limits, resulting in some occasionally questionable textures and infrequent frame rate dips, this is absolutely the most impressive port to the Nintendo Switch 2 from a sheer scope perspective. While other recent ports like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle have shown that the system can compete with more focused adventures, the bustling world of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is simply mind-boggling when you have it all sitting within a tablet in the palm of your hands.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Xbox Series X|S is the most technically complete version the trilogy's second chapter has ever seen on console. It features three graphics modes with options the original PS5 lacked, VRR, fast loading times, and a bonus Leviathan to celebrate the release.

This is the most complete version of Final Fantasy that has been released and it isn’t even the complete Final Fantasy VII story. There is so much here that should influence the franchise moving forward and, more importantly, to enjoy in the here and now, that I can’t wait to see where we go next.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is exactly the kind of sequel we expect to see in major franchises: bigger, bolder, and better in virtually every aspect that made Remake a success. The narrative remains engaging, the open world is constantly rewarding, the combat has gained new layers of depth, and the amount of optional content is impressive from start to finish. Even with some excesses in the minigames, the overall quality of the package is hard to ignore. At the same time, this Switch 2 version makes it clear that the hardware had to make concessions to accommodate an experience of this scale. Still, considering Rebirth's ambition, we hope that future updates can improve some of these issues.
