Super Bomberman R 2 Reviews
Super Bomberman R 2 should be great. It can do just about anything a Bomberman game could possibly be asked to do. If only it could offer a decent game of Bomberman. A real missed opportunity.
It improves on the previous game in some aspects, but it does not get rid of some imbalance and chaos. Even so, it is a fun proposal with a lot of multiplayer potential.

Super Bomberman R 2 is as fun to play against people locally or globally as it ever was, but the story mode is a little dull.
Super Bomberman R 2 is an improved title from every point of view and in terms of quality. Many more game modes and many ideas. Finally, it's worth the price.

Super Bomberman R 2 is a step in the right direction for the series with the addition of a lengthy campaign, a level editor, and a whole new game mode. With more puzzles to mix up the repetitive gameplay and a little more polish to iron out the visual clutter, frame rate drops, and long load times, Bomberman could be super yet again.
Super Bomberman R 2 is a triumphant and feature-rich return for the explosive icon. The new Castle mode brings some interesting twists to the classic formula (though the level editor feels like it could use a little more work) while all the chaotic arcade gameplay that's carried this series for 40 years proves to be just as compelling as it's always been. Pair that addictive gameplay with an extensive multiplayer suite and lots of unlockables, and you've got something that's easy to recommend to anyone looking for the next great multiplayer release to break out on game night. It's a little less easy to recommend if you intend on playing entirely solo-the single-player offering is a bit thin here-but the endless replayability of the online component makes it a great pick otherwise.
Is it worth the price tag? That's a tough one. If you've enjoyed the previous game/s and you don't have any in your collection at the moment… it is a good way to have that classic game with the addition of some extra modes if you want to try those too. If you (like me) will likely end up just going back to the standard game and playing that… it seems like a steep price. I'm not really sure the extra features add enough to the basic game to warrant the price tag and if you already have a copy of the original or one of it's other iterations… I'm not sure the new additions will be worth shelling out for another copy. But my view might just be soured by the story mode animations… ooooh I did not like them!
Super Bomberman R 2 delivers a solid enough take on the tried and tested classic Bomberman formula.
Super Bomberman R 2 brings a lot of ideas to the game without actually introducing new opportunities.
Super Bomberman R 2 is fun but it gets extremely chaotic in multiplayer. The gameplay is familiar for any longtime fun but it doesn't always fit the new modes.

Super Bomberman R 2 includes everything that worked in the past in a single package with few new features. The story mode is short and repetitive but shines with its multiplayer modes. Most of its potential in recycled content, it's still a good option to play with friends and it's your first approach with this legendary character.

Super Bomberman R2 is heavy on content and everything the classic fans have ever wanted, but the lackluster story mode and doing nothing innovative made it difficult to recommend for newcomers

I'm very happy that Super Bomberman R 2 is here and its highly strategic Castle mode is simply one of the best innovations that the series has ever seen. In addition to that, the single player component is brimming with rewarding content that'll keep lone wolves entertained for hours while the multiplayer element is as frantic and fun as it's ever been. It definitely lit my fuse; that's for sure.
Super Bomberman R 2 is a nice improvement over its predecessor, and it features a lot of content, but be realistic. Do not expect it to be the most groundbreaking experience out there, because Bomberman is, has been, and will always be a very simple arcade-like experience with cute visuals, cheerful music and accessible controls, meant to be played for a couple dozen minutes at a time. It does everything it was meant to do with honors, and I’m happy about it. I wanted a an improvement over the flawed, but interesting Super Bomberman R from 2017, and got exactly that.
