The Rogue Prince of Persia Reviews
Ultimately The Rogue Prince of Persia is an exceptional roguelite that honors the legacy of its franchise while forging a new identity that boasts stylised graphics, decent audio and strong gameplay that works perfectly on both the Steam Deck and a PC that will make you come back for more, provided you don't get too frustrated from the roguelite nature – kudos to Evil Empire!
The Rogue Prince of Persia is undeniably a game of solid quality, but its current content is lacking. The innovative parkour mechanics bring a lot of fresh experience to the game, but they also require higher platforming skills from the player. The combat system is simplified compared to Dead Cells, but many aspects still need to be improved in terms of practicality. The game's biggest problem at the moment is the lack of roguelike progression elements.

The Rogue Prince of Persia may never be heralded as the greatest in the series (my money would be on Sands of Time) yet what once was a twilight of dark sands, has awoken to a golden dawn filled with new beginnings and hope for the franchise. It’s without doubt a worthy title bound to please fans of the series and newcomers alike.
A relatively successful blend of Dead Cells and Prince of Persia. Its music and acrobatic gameplay in particular promise a few enjoyable hours. However, the somewhat linear structure causes it to become repetitive rather quickly, and after a while, you don’t really see a reason to go for another run. It would benefit from being supported with DLCs.

A fresh take on a classic franchise, The Rogue Prince of Persia offers a solid and smooth roguelite experience. It won't be universally popular among players, but it has the potential to surprise those open to change.

Seriously slick and responsive to play, The Rogue Prince of Persia will likely win you over instantly thanks to its stylish traversal. Add to the mix some wonderful storytelling, a world that's a joy to explore and challenging (but rewarding) combat, and you have one of the best roguelike platforming games of recent years.
The Early Access of The Rogue Prince of Persia shows a lot of things that makes us think this could be one of the finest adventures by the Prince. The movement is amazing, combat is really fun, all the options of personalization of weapons are great and fun to discover and use and the gameplay in general helps a lot to avoid any kind of boredom. We see a lot of potential.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is a must-have roguelite for fans of the genre. While not revolutionary, it introduces several enriching features to a well-known formula.

This is not a game that tries to convince you it belongs in the Prince of Persia lineage. It assumes that if you care about movement, rhythm, and personal accountability, you’ll feel the connection on your own. And honestly, that confidence is what makes it work. Yes, repetition is part of the package. Long sessions can blur together, and if roguelikes aren’t your thing, this won’t suddenly change your mind. But if you enjoy games that reward improvement over accumulation, and flow over spectacle, The Rogue Prince of Persia hits a very satisfying balance.
The Rogue Prince of Persia lives up to the legacy of the legendary franchise, delivering a fast-paced, acrobatic roguelite that is highly recommended for fans of the genre and the Ubisoft saga. Although it took a while to arrive on the Switch and Switch 2, in this case the wait was worth it, rewarded with a great version that deserves a place in every Nintendo fan's virtual library — ready to save Persia again?

The game blends its story of resurrecting the prince very well with the roguelike system. It delivers a fluid, fun experience and a very satisfying gameplay feel. Although the narrative isn’t deep, it combines the useful with the enjoyable. Its music and visuals are flawless and enhance its quality; even though the game isn’t long, every part shows that it was meticulously crafted.

With combat and movement that you'll hardly see in other similarly structured games today, The Rogue Prince of Persia is an example to be followed by other major publishers that... sometimes, the small fish knows more than the big fish.

The Rogue Prince of Persia successfully marries the franchise's acrobatic roots with the addictive loops of Dead Cells. While the narrative lacks the charisma of Hades and the procedural maps can feel repetitive, the kinetic joy of wall-running into combat makes this a polished, if slightly quiet, prince of the roguelite genre.
Within the Prince of Persia series, The Rogue comes across as the poor relation. The idea of converting the game into a rogue-lite genre is not bad, but unfortunately, this implementation lacks the depth of story or gameplay to keep players engaged for an extended period. However, since its early access release, the developers have improved many aspects of the game, making it a slightly above-average title.

The Rogue Prince of Persia was one of the most unexpected comebacks in recent years, and fortunately, it delivered a satisfying experience. While not without flaws, like most games, these issues are not severe enough to undermine its overall quality. Many of them feel like missed opportunities rather than fundamental failures. If you're a fan of the Prince of Persia series (especially *The Lost Crown*) or seek a polished, concise roguelite, don't miss *The Rogue Prince of Persia*.

The Rogue Prince of Persia was a game that was a real joy to watch grow from its small steps in early access to this point.

"The Rogue Prince of Persia is a bold, charming, and thoroughly entertaining spin-off that successfully merges the series' signature fluid acrobatics with an addictive roguelike structure. While it doesn't quite hit the spectacular highs of The Lost Crown, it stands strong on its own as a fast-paced and challenging adventure that keeps the franchise's newfound momentum alive. Its immediate availability on services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus, combined with a small file size, makes it an incredibly easy and enthusiastic recommendation for fans of both the Prince and the genre."

The Rogue Prince of Persia is a welcome addition to the rogue-like family, mixing amazing fluid animations and satisfying combat. It provides an enjoyable progression without the feeling of having to start over every time I would die. I am excited to continue playing this game and finding all the secrets and ability combinations that come with each run.
The Rogue Prince of Persia gives a new interpretation to the classic franchise. The prince must save his city from theirs who attack with dark magic. Thanks to a magical Bola you start again after every death, but keep knowledge and equipment. This creates a clear learning curve, although the repetition can sometimes frustrate. The gameplay does not always feel flexible and enemies are often easy to beat, so that the focus is mainly on acrobatics. Yet the Roguelike system has a motivating effect and feels the progression rewarding. Visually the game distinguishes itself with colorful environments and flowing animations. The result is a fresh, challenging and stylish addition to the series.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is a stylish and well-crafted roguelite that rewards persistence with satisfying combat and clever movement mechanics. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre, its atmosphere, progression system, banging music, and fluid gameplay make it a worthwhile adventure for fans of action-platformers.
