Concord Reviews
Concord is a solid first-person hero shooter, but its starting price of €40 is a little over the top. Until the game is at least offered for free via PS+, we unfortunately cannot recommend buying it at the current time.

Despite its fun factor, Concord makes mistakes in the basics of the hero shooter genre and is far from being a memorable game. Add to that Sony's poor strategy of charging for the game and you have the reason why it didn't do so well commercially. We'll wait and see what the future holds for Concord.

Concord has potential but is currently too chaotic and unfinished to be enjoyable. Despite years of development, Firewalk released an incomplete product. The engine shows promise, and with a good rework, it could improve. Right now, the game is chaotic, characters don't mesh, there are no standout modes, and the price doesn't match the quality. With ongoing development and user feedback, significant changes could make it better in six months to a year. Realistically, the gaming industry's current situation makes this challenging, but if No Man's Sky could make a comeback, so could Concord. We'll have to wait for future updates.

Despite abundant resources and time at its disposal, Concord still ends up being a product with various shortcomings across multiple aspects, from gameplay to technical execution. A promising narrative premise and satisfying character progression are unfortunately overshadowed by gameplay that fails to introduce anything new and by a bland, tacky character design, highlighting how the game seems stuck halfway in its attempt to become a solid hero shooter.

It's better to stay away from Concord. It's another failed attempt to make a hero-shooter, that we'll soon forget about. Avoid at all costs.

Concord has solid gameplay mechanics, but fails when it comes to providing characters to care about and doesn’t accomplish its attempts to stand out from other hero shooters.
Concord is a game that is as fun to play as it is bland in form and structure. The gunplay is easy, accessible to all, and the choice not to burden the heroes with a thousand abilities and digressions, as NetEase did with Marvel Rivals, is interesting. It might even have a fair amount of interest in esports one day. But will it make it to that day? Firewalk's title has quickly plummeted in players' interests, but this is also because it really has little or nothing to offer, starting with an overly underwhelming art direction. Dulcis in fundo, the idea of launching a hero shooter in 2024 for EUR 40 may have been the decisive move to make Concord the biggest flop in PlayStation history since Basement Crawl and Knack.

Despite the red flags, I was actually rooting for Concord. It could have been a fun new hero shooter, but it just feels lifeless and soulless. It plays well enough but there isn’t anything in here that would keep you busy for long stretches. It’s a shame as there is a solid enough core.
Concord is a title with too many uncertainties. On one hand, the gunplay and technical aspects are solid, showcasing the commitment and quality of the development team. On the other hand, problematic balancing and a lack of originality in the artistic direction compromise the overall experience.

Concord is the definition of a "fine" shooter. The gunplay is fun, but there is nothing here to set Concord apart from any other game on the market. Between its lackluster modes, characters, and price, it's no surprise that Concord was unable to differentiate itself enough to find a player base.
Firewalk Studios' work started off on the wrong foot with a surprising announcement, but one that generated very few expectations. After that, the pre-release beta generated great uncertainty due to the number of active players, and left many doubts. If Concord returns, it has to do so not only bringing a radical change in terms of what it proposes, but also seeking to attract a non-existent and disenchanted community from the first moment.

Concord is unfortunately another undistinguished hero shooter. It offers nothing special to set it apart from the competition, while offering a dull cast of characters, an unnecessary storyline that took off without any prior player engagement.

Concord is an expensive game that offers little to justify its price tag, lacking in charisma and, worse still, lacking in audience support. As a GaaS, it exemplifies how destructive this business model can be when poorly planned. Unfortunately, the game met its fate, with servers scheduled to be temporarily suspended on September 6, 2024, less than a month after launch. Firewalk Studios’ first venture shows competence, but it is destined to be remembered as the biggest failure of 2024 and, possibly, of the PlayStation brand itself.

If you’re absolutely itching for a new hero shooter to check out, I definitely think you can have some fun with Concord, but if you’re still on the fence, you might be better off waiting just a bit longer to see how or if Concord can overcome its rocky launch.
Concord tenta inspirar-se noutros jogos semelhantes, mas as personagens, gameplay e história do jogo são demasiados genéricos para justificarem um preço de 39.99€.

Concord is not a bad title, it is polished in some details, fun in some mechanics, and you can see the passion of the developers for the project, which, however, seems to be a victim of the changing times. With more content it could have created its own niche, which would have guided the developers to significantly wiser choices on the gameplay and modes offered.

All in all, Concord feels like a missed opportunity that arrived far too late. It’s as if the game is trying to recapture the magic of a bygone era, but the spark just isn’t there.
Concord is a definitely a next-gen game with its space bound designs and sharp effects, but the core gameplay itself lacks innovation. Hero shooter had its time in the gaming industry, and if it has to come back, it needs a new element which Concord lacks.
While Concord has a long way to go before it can be considered a competitor to the likes of Overwatch or Valorant, it shouldn’t be written off entirely. With continued post-launch support, balancing updates, and a commitment to addressing player feedback, Concord could potentially grow into a respectable entry in the team-based FPS genre. However, as it stands now, it remains an unfinished product with more promise than delivery. There’s still time for Concord to rise to the challenge and prove itself, but it needs serious improvements to match the lofty ambitions and expectations set forth by its creators.
Concord is the new online multiplayer hero shooter developed by Firewalk Studios and PlayStation Studios. that pits two teams of five players against each other in intense combat with a high strategy component. With 16 characters, several levels, and plenty of content to start, the game is structured in seasons where content will be added for free, including more characters, levels, and additional game modes. Although it is not easy to enter a market where competition has been established for several years, we can say without a doubt that Concord has all the ingredients to try it successfully.
