Though its middling graphics and somewhat repetitive gameplay can hold it back a bit, the incredibly deep customisation options, snappy combat, and near-endless replayability make this the kind of game that'll get its hooks in you deep once it clicks. If you're into Gundam, we'd suggest you pick this one up when you get the chance, especially if you're looking for a content-rich and relatively low-investment action game to add to your Switch library.
Incredibly varied and immense, between various and eventual modes, Gundam Breaker 4 presents a well-implemented gameplay within it and a high and studied customization of the Mobile Suit. It's excellent how you can connect and implement different weapons to create the mecha par excellence. The story is not the real strength of the work and does not intend to be, preferring to focus everything and even more so on the game design. A choice that I really appreciated.

Gundam Breaker 4 isn't the deepest game when it comes to the narrative or continued gameplay, but the sheer amount of collectibles and customization is a fine achievement.
Gundam Breaker 4 is like watching an old friend rebound from tough times. It may not be as great as its mainline predecessors in some regards, but it is a solid course correction from the last few dire entries. The repetitive stages and diluted weapon options are a noticeable step back, yet so many quality-of-life improvements to this new entry in the gunpla action RPG series make it much a smoother experience to play. While completing the main story took me roughly around 17 hours, I'm just about to reach the 60 hour mark because I keep making entire new gunpla builds to take on the highest difficulty stages on their own. It takes virtual model kit building to the next level and the potential of crafting something truly masterful, or horrific, is only limited by a person’s imagination.
Gundam Breaker 4 from developer Crafts & Meister has more depth in its customization than with story and entertainment. While the latter won’t grab you and keep you in the gaming experience, the former will certainly have you hooked on how far you can take your Gunpla’s design and customization. Gundam fans and mech model enthusiasts will adore this title more than gamers dying for a rich and full gaming experience based on the Gundam brand.

Gundam Breaker 4 is a game for fans of the franchise, and it's a darn good one. It even eclipses Gundam Breaker 3 in terms of customization options and the sheer fun that it offers. It's definitely a huge step up from New Gundam Breaker. It's a "create your own digital Gunpla" game first and a beat-'em-up second, but it's difficult to deny the fun of creating the most absurd mech you can and then using it to beat the living crud out of swarms of bad guys. If you like Gundam, Gundam Breaker 4 is probably the best available title for English-speaking audiences.
I couldn't help but think of a game like Custom Robo and wish that Gundam Breaker was willing to commit to a more adventurous, almost Pokemon-like experience. A game where you actually explore a world, engaging in Gunpla battles as an RPG encounter mechanic, rather than selecting them from a list. Gundam Breaker 4 is good, but it feels like there is an obvious path to be something more.
Overall, Gundam Breaker 4 can be considered a must-play experience for Gundam fans. For others, if you can overlook some of the game’s issues, you’ll find a charming title that, thanks to its addictive gameplay and unparalleled customization options, will provide you with many fun and joyful moments. Perhaps if the game were offered at a lower price, some of its flaws wouldn’t be as noticeable; however, such issues are not acceptable for a sixty-dollar title.

It features immensely entertaining combat, thousands of customization options, a sizeable Diorama mode, and a story that will appeal to fans of the series. It is the definitive title for Gunpla fans.

There’s a lot to love about Gundam Breaker 4 as it returns to the roots of the franchise in successful fashion. This game provides lots of engaging combat encounters thanks to its tried-and-tested mechanics that it borrows from Gundam Breaker 3, albeit with new additions. Perhaps the best thing about it is the customization system which offers an addictive experience for Gundam fans and Gunpla collectors. It’s also great that the in-depth customization is great not only for combat but also for the Diorama and Photo modes which are cool additions. Plus, even more casual Gundam fans can have fun here as the story mode is quite engaging. Sure, the combat could be smoother, and the missions can feel a bit samey, but these are minor issues overall. As such, Gundam Breaker 4 is a great return to form for the series that Gunpla builders will definitely love.
To sum it up, Gundam Breaker 4 is a great game for consoles and PC. I would to see more updates to be announced for this game since there are many DLC plans made for it and hoping that the popularity of it will last the same as what Gundam Breaker 3 did in the past.
Gundam Breaker 4 is an action RPG that focuses on robot customization above all else. Assembling your own robot from the endless options of parts and going into battle is a lot of fun. However, the levels are too simple, the missions are very repetitive and there are clear points where the game could improve in a future iteration.
