Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Reviews
Capcom has taken one of the most iconic games of previous generations. Then put it in a mixing bowl with hi-res graphics, beautiful textures and impressive voice acting. Then they have baked that in the oven for around 8 years. What we are left with is a great renewal of life to the old classic. The beautiful Re Engine creates some great visuals, increasing immersion and making Frank look incredible! Thankfully with all the fancying up of the game, it hasn’t lost its fun factor. Fighting zombies with a kid’s foam sword has never been so much fun!
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster mostly stays true to the original, for better or worse. While some improvements have been made to AI pathfinding, visuals, and quality of life, a couple of 20-year-old relics remain. For old players, this might fuel their nostalgia; for newer players to the series, it might just prove a little frustrating. Regardless, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is not a game to be taken seriously, and if you can sit back and laugh with it, you'll have a good time. Performance on the Steam Deck isn't the best, but it's to be expected when you're dealing with large amounts of AI, given the Steam Deck's weaker CPU. Although we can occasionally see dips into the 20s, most of the game runs at 30 FPS, and you can play from start to finish on the Steam Deck and still have a good time. Controller support is also excellent.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster didn't need to be a remake, nor did it need to drastically update its mechanics. The game itself stands on its unique game design and becomes a great way to see the generational transition from the time of its original release and how it really is a game full of living dead ideas, which in one way or another are in the form of mechanics torn apart by the entire industry.

I legitimately hated a lot of my time with it. But, man, I do hope that a proper new instalment is in the works because I can absolutely see how this could be gloriously delirious fun.
Capcom managed to revive the franchise after countless mistakes in the past. This is, without a shadow of a doubt, the definitive version of the 2006 title and replaces it in a very faithful way and considering the necessary improvements to be in line with the current reality of the industry. Some bugs that were also in the original title are still evident and the change of some characters may lead many people to turn up their noses about this remastered, but we believe that it is not something crucial for us to have an extraordinary experience playing this masterpiece. Let's hope that Capcom decides to do the same with the second title in the series, and who knows, launch the third for Sony consoles! Here's a tip!

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster carries some historical flaws of the series, such as underlying repetitiveness and shallow gameplay, yet it's a successful nostalgia operation. The treatment, halfway between a remake and a remaster, refreshes the 2006 Xbox 360 game enough to appeal to a new audience who will appreciate its characters, absurd situations, and carefree zombie carnage.

This remaster improves the gameplay, controls and even various mechanics to greatly increase the fun, without giving up the tension and management mechanisms. It's a spectacular zombie playground that we can't stop playing.

If you missed the boat with Dead Rising in 2006, I highly recommend picking up the Deluxe Remaster. It has been wonderfully reworked across the board to bring a refreshed experience that is more aesthetically pleasing and satisfying to play. Even though I had completed this one back in the day, I would say it is also worth a replay if you’re on the fence. Capcom has done a fantastic job not only giving the visuals an entire overhaul but also some great adjustments to other elements of the experience. The auto-save is a much-welcome addition and NPC’s appear to behave a little less erratically this time. I have to say though, I enjoyed the game just as much today as I did 18 years ago and in this congested schedule of games, I kept going back for more. It retains all the qualities and story from the original game and the wackiness and spontaneous nature of smashing zombies in with a variance of weapons doesn’t seem to tire. Sometimes I do roll my eyes at the amount of remasters and remakes that seem to surface lately, but I guarantee you, this is one of the great ones and Dead Rising deserves some new eyes to the franchise. That said, Capcom we need a Dead Rising 5.
I was positively surprised by Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, especially when I noticed how they managed to maintain the ideas of the original, and its treasures, without failing to add improvements to make the experience simpler and more enjoyable for everyone.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered shows inevitable signs of aging and may struggle to win over modern players or fully recapture the impact it once had. However, despite its gameplay limitations, there’s no reason why anyone seeking an unconventional story—whether a series fan or not—should pass on this new edition. With numerous improvements, it stands as the definitive version of a classic.

Fans who remember and love the original will be delighted to play the remaster. However, those who didn't get the chance to play it before, might struggle with obsolete mechanics that were standard in video games in 2006, but might now be seen as irritating, archaic, or simply too difficult. If they muster the patience, though, they certainly won't regret it because Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster will reward them with lots of fun.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best version with which to enjoy the initial chapter in the Capcom horror series. New graphics, revamped controls and quality-of-life improvements serve an excellent remastering that preserves the best play features of the 2005 title. In this sense, some might criticize, now as then, some choices related to the inexorable timer that punctuates objectives and sanctions fates. Likewise, the reintroduction of the sandbox structure without novelty might weigh especially heavily on those who had viewed the missteps of the last chapters with discontent. If you love Dawn of the Dead, don't disdain a crazy streak and perhaps didn't play it nearly two decades ago, the return to the Willamette Parkview Mall might be an experience not to be missed.

Fans who played the original opus will undoubtedly be happy to play Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster. This version offers a number of visual improvements, not least to rejuvenate the original experience. However, this is not enough to attract new players. They'll find themselves in a muddled adventure against an artificial intelligence that's as flawed as ever. The 72-hour concept is also ill-suited to modern times, and despite the presence of an option to advance time, I'm not convinced that a new community will be created. I'd mainly recommend the title to fans of the franchise who loved the original opus.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remastered is a fun but flawed revisit to a zombie classic. It stays true in delivering its quirky and chaotic spirit, and was given a fair amount of polish to make it more appealing to modern players. While it’s a treat for longtime fans of the series, newcomers will feel the game’s age through its flaws.
Despite some flaws, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is an excellent remasterization that promises to revitalize the franchise after the missteps of Dead Rising 4, attracting a new legion of fans and giving hope to the long-time ones. The persistence of old problems such as NPC AI and a few rendering bugs due to the number of enemies on screen can be a bit bothersome, especially for those who didn't enjoy Dead Rising very much when it was originally released on the Xbox 360. Honestly, if you're one of those people, this remasterization won't change your opinion about the franchise. For long-time fans, it feels like reuniting with an old friend. A friend who may have some annoying flaws, but ultimately, a cherished friend who is a joy to see looking so good in this remaster.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster brings a breath of fresh air to franchise past its prime. Despite the fact that the authors did not avoid some unnecessary mistakes, in general, the remastering went well and overall the title can be recommended especially to new players, as the older ones may not be enthusiastic about it.

If you missed the original Dead Rising or want to relive the chaos, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is definitely worth your time. It captures the essence of what made the original game special while offering enough improvements to feel fresh and exciting.
What made Dead Rising a classic was the ability to grab outlandish items, and use said item to defeat seemingly endless waves of enemies. Nearly 20 years later this still holds true. In fact, given how much the world has changed since 2006 there is arguably even more novelty in things like a CD store, or even the mall setting itself. It's a shame other areas highlight Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster age, but anyone looking to reexperience the delight that comes from putting a Servbot helmet on a zombie, and then killing it with a 2×4 will certainly walk away with a smile on their face.
Thanks to the beauty of the RE Engine, and some desperately needed QoL improvements, there has never been a better way to enjoy Dead Rising.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a clear labor of love, retouching and retooling the 2006 classic for modern audiences. The gameplay is a blast, with all kinds of different weapons to experiment with as you work your way through the hordes to save survivors and escape. RE Engine brings new life to the title with stunning visuals and fantastic animations.
