Split Fiction Reviews
Split Fiction takes players on a visually creative journey through diverse fantasy and sci-fi worlds, with solid gameplay and some memorable side moments. However, the lack of narrative depth, constant pressure, and missed opportunities for meaningful cooperation made the experience more exhausting than enjoyable. In the end, its imaginative environments stood out, but they weren’t quite enough to fully balance the frustration.

Split Fiction offers amongst the most incredible adventures in a video game ever. Hazelight Studios gave us something truly special. And you can enjoy all of this for only £40. Definitely a Game of the Year contender.
Split Fiction is deeply engaging, and the hours flew by as we played. Many games hold players’ hands, guiding them through every step with constant prompts and restrictive mechanics. Split Fiction, however, throws you in headfirst, trusting you to experiment, explore, and engage with its world on your own terms. For anyone considering it, make sure you have a Player 2 who’s up for the ride. At 11–14 hours, it’s a commitment, but one that’s absolutely worth it. You’re in for a journey that will explore creativity almost, to its very limits and a gameplay that feels fresh and exciting. And if you’re wondering—yes, I’m still on speaking terms with CaptainTrophyHunter, until our next co-op adventure.
Split Fiction proves that a great story and character development can create a truly memorable experience.
Split Fiction is a fantastic game, polished to perfection, I can’t imagine how the developers are going to top this.
Split Fiction, the latest game from Josef Fares and Hazelight Studios, is seriously impressive. It’s one of the best co-op experiences out there. They took everything that worked in their past games, made it even better, and packed it with creative puzzles, varied gameplay, and awesome level design. It’s the kind of game you’ll remember long after you finish it.

Split Fiction was like stepping into a delightful video game / pop culture time capsule. It feels like almost every major game – or hilarious industry meme – that ever mattered is here for you to Leo DiCaprio point at excitedly.
Split Fiction is one of the best titles I’ve had the chance to play. It was created by true industry enthusiasts who poured a ton of heart into the game. It’s a cooperative masterpiece that could serve as a textbook example of a job well done. It’s a long, diverse story that’s perfect for spending quality time with someone close to you. The blend of fantasy and science fiction turned out to be a bullseye, and the creators seized the opportunity, delivering a wealth of creative solutions.

Joyful co-op adventure Split Fiction has some minor faults, but in the end it is filled with so many unforgettable "whoa!" moments, it would feel wrong to give this anything else than full five stars.

Split Fiction creates many different worlds to explore, all of which are as fleshed out and fun as the characters you experience them with. If you have a partner to coop with, it's a game you can't miss playing. The worlds they have created really represent who they are as people, with Zoe being amazing at pointing this out as she tries to learn about Mio from her stories.
Split Fiction is another prime example of how Hazelight Studios is revolutionizing the co-op genre. With a captivating story, innovative gameplay mechanics and stunning visual design, the game sets new standards for cooperative experiences. Despite minor weaknesses in narrative structure and playtime, Split Fiction is an absolute must-play for fans of co-op games and those looking for a deep, emotional experience.

Split Fiction is an absolutely engaging delight from start to finish. It isn’t a perfect game by any means, and does have a few shortcomings that affect the narrative and accessibility for new players, however, these are minor problems. The game is an absolute ton of fun from start to finish, and it has an emotionally charged story that deals with a number of different relatable themes. Hazelight’s streak of providing exceptional co-op games continues, and Split Fiction further improves on their formula by providing us with their best work yet. With three amazing co-op experiences under their belt it’s hard to see them stopping anytime soon. Split Fiction continues to shows us why Hazelight is still the king of co-op games.
Split Fiction could well win the Award for Game of the Year, because this co-op game knows how to make its originality. Fantasy and science fiction alternate well and with protagonists Mio and Zoe you can effortlessly play all the levels without being bored.

Split Fiction is an absolute triumph. Hazelight Studios has once again set a new gold standard for cooperative storytelling, blending exhilarating gameplay with an emotionally rich narrative. With its compelling characters, breathtaking visuals, and masterful co-op mechanics, this game is a must-play for anyone who appreciates the art of storytelling in video games. A true 10/10 experience that cements Hazelight’s reputation as the kings of co-op gaming.
Hazelight Studios has crafted an adventure that almost transcends what it is, a video game, and goes a long way to prove that games are as much art as books and films. Split Fiction is one of the best games of the year, this generation of gaming ,and potentially ever, with equal measures of finesse in its execution and brass balls to take some big risks. It’s one of those games you don’t want to miss.
Hazelight Studios elevates the benchmark for cooperative games, excelling at level design, story concepts, and admirable technical achievements. Split Fiction is the best co-op game on the market, an experience that will create core memories to share with family or friends.
A couple times per generation a game comes along and flies close to the proverbial sun that is perfection. While no game can be truly perfect Split Fiction is about as close as they come. The backdrop of the games narrative is unique and the story told between Mio and Zoe will bring many to tears. The voice actors themselves deliver an award winning performance as well.
Split Fiction shines both for its originality and for its ability to provide an entertaining, emotional, and, at times, challenging experience. Hazelight Studios once again succeeds in creating a captivating narrative where cooperation is not only essential but also deeply integrated into every aspect of the game. It's not just a continuation of the studio's legacy, it's a celebration of everything that makes cooperation in video games magical.
