Presenting a very innovative game proposal, Rematch simplifies the rules of soccer to offer an intense and fun experience. Without throw-ins or fouls, but with lots of dribbling and artistic plays, we have here a game focused on competitive online matches. Although this focus exposes some problems, the title has enough qualities and the promise of important new features, deserving a chance to be added to your library.

If there's one thing If there's one thing Rematch is really missing, it's content, so in a way we'd say it's still in an Early Access status. However, in functional terms it's complete, so even in its current state, the game is still pretty decent, and for those looking for a well-made and challenging PvP game, with potential to get even better in the future, Rematch is a good choice.

Rematch has potential, and that might be the most accurate word to describe it. The core concept is solid, the gameplay is responsive, and there's a clear effort to foster competitive play. But as of now, it's a bit too shallow for dedicated players and a bit too chaotic for casual ones. If Sloclap can cultivate a stronger community, add more ranked options, and offer varied content, this could become something special. Until then, it's a flashy first half with a lot of work left to do in the second.

REMATCH is a messy, joyful, competitive football experience that manages to feel both nostalgic and fresh. It recaptures the spirit of pick-up football with friends while delivering a high-skill arcade sports game that rewards practice and coordination. It’s not perfect – there are bugs, balance quirks, and the lack of offline content is a sore point – but it's an undeniably fun and engaging game with strong foundations.

Rematch delivers fun gameplay with great depth, but it does make some missteps in its progression systems, which, combined with some minor bugs, ultimately prevent the title from scoring a spectacular goal in its launch state.

Rematch may not knock Rocket League off its perch for a competitive soccer game, but if you are not a fan of cars and prefer the instant arcade action then this is a game that can get you hooked. I am a massive football fan, and I also like Rocket League and Rush from EAFC, so I am impressed with this offering. I have played many times with friends, and it is so easy to lose hours of fun to this game as it’s a joy to win and not that painful to lose.

Showing it can be more than just “Rocket League with human feet”, Sloclap understands what makes multiplayer soccer engaging. The Prologue teases what a story mode could be like, and it would be really good had there been a campaign. REMATCH can be a little dry in its presentation, but is a grounded and surprisingly strong soccer game that only a well-executed competitive sports game can provide – the last-minute goal, the perfectly executed pass, the coordinated defensive stop. Sloclap has mastered multiplayer for Absolver, and then excelled at creating fluid animations in Sifu, for this all to coalesce in REMATCH to be a wonderfully flowing soccer game that has legs.

Rematch is an absolutely fun and sui generis football game, a real low-cost alternative to more famous (and in some ways, stale) productions. Unique design, excellent controls and a simple and addictive gameplay will help immerse us in an infinite loop of play. High-level images and animations confirm once again Sloclap as one of the best realities of the videogame scene. The experience, at the moment, is not yet perfect and there are many shortcomings and rough edges to file, but it is only a matter of time. Probably, the best "casual but not too much" football experience in relation to the low launch price.

Rematch is a very fun game but also an experiment that still needs more ideas to coalesce into a greater whole.

REMATCH‘s graphics and sound are great, and the core gameplay is great, especially when you work together well and know how to use your hands well. If you can look past its flaws and decide to learn how to play, REMATCH is a very fun soccer game, especially if you have friends to play with.

REMATCH is a project bursting with potential but bogged down by its ambition. It dares to ask what football would feel like if built from the ground up around real-time, manual control. The result is a mechanically deep, team-centric, emotionally engaging football sim wrapped in an arcade presentation. However, it also suffers from rushed execution, limited offline content, server instability, and a live-service shell that doesn't yet justify its price tag.

Rematch offers a highly enjoyable arcade-style multiplayer football experience when played with friends. The game doesn't follow real-world football rules, but unfortunately, it suffers from limited content, making the Platinum trophy the real challenge. Moreover, it is plagued by annoying technical issues and broken trophies. Still, we recommend it to football fans—provided they play it with friends as part of a well-coordinated team.

There is no option to create your own club or customize your own arena, let alone the ability to make team leagues or organize tournaments. A real shame.

Rematch is that type of game that makes you forget to breathe in crucial moments. Despite its current technical problems and lack of content, the playable foundation is so solid that it's easy to forgive its flaws. It's a title that understands that football, in essence, is about teamwork, strategy, and those moments of individual brilliance that emerge within collective play.

Make no mistake, Rematch has an incredible and unique football gameplay loop that is unlike anything I have ever tried before. There are a lot of nuances in the animations and regular duels that make the game an irresistible package. However, it is let down by initial networking hiccups and a lack of modes and content. Luckily, it seems that Slopclap is in it for the long run, which should make Rematch a footballing star in no time.

This game makes me fall in love with football and I’m simply not a sports person. Its fast paced action forces you to think fast on the field and really think deeply about your next button input. Its art style, vast customization options, and gameplay make this game one you won’t forget anytime soon. I sincerely hope we start to see other iterations of this game play style sports games from more developers. But due to a few flaws, the need for further polishing, and approachability, it makes me second guess recommending it to just anyone. I can however highly recommend picking this game up and testing the waters for yourself to see if its for you.

Rematch is a good time but it really is a game of two halves: amazing with friends, but frustrating beyond belief with random players.

Rematch is a soccer sim with arcade soul, a competitive beast dressed in cleats, and an early access title that could very well score big, if it keeps its foot on the gas and listens to its fans. For now, it’s not quite the beautiful game, but it’s definitely a beautiful start.

Sloclap and Kepler Interactive want us to play soccer as a team, albeit in a rather crazy arcade style. Despite its fast and frenetic pace, the game will require us to be good at passing, attack and defense strategies, and, of course, teamwork in order to beat our opponents.
