NBA 2K26 improves on NBA 2K25 with smoother motion, a smarter shot meter, and more realistic arenas and players. Offline modes still lack depth, and center balance is a concern, but overall, it's the best entry in years.

NBA 2K26 is another great addition to the franchise. While its focus is on small improvements, such as tweaks to graphics and gameplay, it delivers an even better package than last year's.

NBA 2K26 delivers the strongest entry in the series in years, offering refined gameplay and rich online content. It also serves as a solid entry point for newcomers provided they can tolerate the heavy microtransactions and slow-paced progression.

Every September, the question is always the same: is it really worth spending $70 on new jerseys, a trendy haircut, and yet another updated roster? The "2K tax" seems eternal, yet NBA 2K26 at least tries to shake it off by confirming itself as the best basketball game on the market. The new shooting indicator works, the movements are spectacular, and the defensive AI stops wandering around the paint like a tourist who has lost their guide.

It's the installment we've liked the most in recent years, especially in terms of gameplay and when it comes to creating our player and taking them to the top, but it's still too intrusive with microtransactions, although Visual Concepts has taken measures here too, albeit minimal ones.

Once again, NBA 2K has become a real hit. The 26th edition not only impresses with a noticeably optimized gaming experience on the court with better animations and a more realistic feel, but also in terms of atmosphere and lifestyle, especially in the open city, the simulation is unrivaled. Also nice is the cross-play between Xbox and PlayStation players, as well as the once again extremely extensive selection of game modes, both online and offline, including a wide-ranging training area in Learn2K. The player career in the open game world with its numerous possibilities, the GM career with its walk-in headquarters, and the elaborately staged The W mode of the WNBA are particularly memorable. This also applies to the elaborately implemented high school experience, which impresses with its compelling story. Whether the newly introduced Seasons with their heavily promoted real-money Season Pass variants were really necessary is another question. The somewhat boringly staged draft at the GM and the partially unsound conversations also cloud the overall impression a little, but they don't change the fact that NBA 2K26 is an outstanding basketball game with countless opportunities for entertainment on and off the court.

NBA 2K26 regains the momentum lost with the previous title, although it still suffers from an excess of microtransactions that grant unfair advantages to those willing to pay. The other game modes, which are simpler, have become bigger, better, and more fun, leveraging the legacy that the NBA and WNBA have to offer while also making it a great showcase for their improved gameplay.

Even though this is my first basketball game, it won’t be my last. This game has opened my eyes to the sport. I am now learning key terms and slowly starting to understand the rules and various strategies. This game can help support new players like me or advanced players who enjoy a challenge.

NBA 2K26 offers interesting gameplay additions and a whole host of small touches that further enhance the audiovisual experience. Content-wise, some welcome changes have been made (such as the single-player story mode), although in other areas, substantial changes are largely minor. The issue of microtransactions remains unresolved, as well as a certain difficulty navigating the game's sea of menus and options. Despite this, it remains one of the best sports games out there.

Here we are, back to school, large square notebooks, meetings, Jean Michel's vacation at the coffee machine and sports games with this NBA 2K26. The game still thinks it's an MMORPG that asks you to play 6 hours a day if you don't take out your credit card. Always these glitters sent in our eyes and which will create an illusion until we understand that nothing has changed or very little and that we are asked to farm to have players or stats who will help us to... farm ? MyNBA will save this NBA 2K26 but for how long ?

A strong rebound for the franchise, NBA 2K26 sharpens gameplay fundamentals, polishes presentation, and answers fan feedback from last year. VC monetisation and online demands still sting, but the on-court action is the best it’s been in years

NBA 2K26, like most annual sports titles, does little to shake up the formula but long-time fans will be happy with the staggering amount of content on offer and slight improvements to the visuals and gameplay.

NBA 2K26 is, without a doubt, the best basketball iteration from 2K in the last 10 years. The ProPLAY engine has been vastly improved over 2K25, resulting in a beautifully crafted game—with a host of gameplay and quality-of-life improvements—backed by exceptional presentation. There are so many different ways to enjoy NBA 2K26 that both veterans and newcomers to the series will instantly fall in love with it. Some modes still favor the long-standing microtransactions as the only path to success, but fortunately, they are less invasive than in the past!

NBA 2K26 is the best entry in the franchise since the 2017 release. MyCareer remains the flagship mode, but MyTeam, MyNBA, and Play Now offer an almost endless replay value. The new Dynamic Motion Play system brings lifelike movements into the game, delivering gameplay unlike anything the series has seen before.

NBA 2K26 is both an improvement and a letdown depending on your expectations. On the one hand, the gameplay is smoother, offense feels fantastic, and ProPLAY™ continues to make animations eerily realistic. On the other, defense is lackluster, microtransactions remain pervasive, and the PC experience is held back by poor anti-cheat and a small community. If you’re a hardcore basketball fan who enjoys grinding MyCAREER or collecting in MyTEAM, you’ll find hours of entertainment here. If you’re new or casual, be prepared for a steep learning curve—and possibly a steep cost if you want to compete at higher levels. It’s not the slam dunk fans have been begging for, but it’s at least a smooth layup that gets the job done.

NBA 2K26 is an excellent title when it focuses on recreating basketball in a virtual world. Sports fans will be happy with what's available here. Unfortunately, 2K's aggressive approach to online modes, microtransactions, and especially the lack of leveraging the power of the Nintendo Switch 2 to deliver a customized experience specifically for the platform ultimately undermine what could have been a strong start for the franchise on the new console.

In short, NBA 2K26 hasn't reinvented the wheel, far from it, but I think it has hit the nail on the head and brought players closer together to create an extremely fun gaming experience.
