Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven Reviews
If you even just LIKED Cult of the Lamb, whether you were interested in the actual “cult” part or not, Woolhaven is well worth diving back into the game for. New weapons, new enemies, new bosses, new cult members, and the GOAT cult leader.
It's amazing to drop back into Cult of the Lamb with the Woolhaven DLC, and the harsh new reality it imposes on your cult. I just wish it came a few years sooner, so I hadn't forgotten everything from my last run in 2022! If you're new to the game, this won't be a problem, but if you're old hat, it may be better to start New Game+ and get back to speed, rather than jumping in late, low on resources and struggling more than you need to through your first few winters.
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven is an all-around excellent addition to the game, and provides hours and hours of quality gameplay.
Woolhaven is Cult of the Lamb at its most difficult yet satisfyingly chaotic. It's arguably one of the better, if not the best, DLC expansions of recent years thanks to how much good content is added to the base game. While it might be punishing thanks to the winter mechanics, it's in line with the painful existence associated with the teachings of our favorite little lamb. Believe you, me, Woolhaven is a fantastic standalone post-game in and of itself.
Woolhaven is proof that Massive Monster made the right decision to stick with Cult of the Lamb. By retaining everything the vanilla version does right, and adding several novelties, the expansion takes what was already a great game and makes it even better.

Massive Monster has nailed the concept of DLC with Woolhaven: it gives fans of Cult of the Lamb more of what they love, but with enough of a refresh that it feels notably different. This is a substantial expansion, adding dozens of hours worth of new content, and with not only new dungeons to overcome but new ways to interact and grow your cult, it's a must-play for anyone who enjoyed the base game.
Woolhaven has reignited my passion for this charming yet dark and twisted rogue-lite. The DLC expansion has introduced a fresh dimension to the game, offering significantly more content to explore and enjoy. The expanded lore captivated my interest, and the storytelling was engaging. With a blend of wholesome and darker elements, this experience was truly memorable.
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven delivers new content for those who have already completed the base game, introduces several new mechanics, and brings back familiar faces in the Lamb's new journey. On the other hand, some technical and performance issues, as well as gameplay that becomes a bit repetitive over time, may deter those looking for something completely new. At the end of the day, the DLC is a must-have expansion for those who enjoyed building their own cult and exploring the enemy-filled rooms in Cult of the Lamb, offering new challenges and an extra layer of strategy that, while not reinventing the formula, manages to keep it interesting enough to justify a return to the cult.

Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven doesn't make the game completely new, but it does make it better and more difficult. The expansion brings back a feeling of tension that may have gone away over time by making winter a constant threat, making it easier to manage cults, and adding new regions with lots of interesting themes.
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven introduces a new weapon and two new locations to explore, along with new upgrades. Adding ranches, winter, and a new cultist type changes how you manage the flock’s well-being. You can only access Woolhaven after beating the main game, and it’s still difficult to manage. If you're looking for more challenge and fun with Cult of the Lamb, this expansion is definitely worth getting.
Despite being divided between cruel winters and rotting corpses, the Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven expansion revitalises the original game in practically every aspect, offering hours of new content and strategy elements to those already at the finishing line of the main campaign. The pursuit of reuniting a fallen goddess with her old glory is a worthy one.

Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven adds a whole host of new wintery content to one of 2022’s best games, and is a great reason to go back.
Cult of the Lamb’s latest expansion is a welcome return, adding new mechanics, biomes, and hours of play that enrich the world. The music, visuals, and added lore bring the Lamb’s ascension to a satisfying close. A slow start aside, it’s a rewarding expansion for both veterans and newcomers.
If you haven’t played since finishing the base game, Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven is absolutely worth your time. Even if you’ve kept up with every update, the additional ~20 hours of content feels substantial, meaningful, and very on-brand. For me, it was more than worth the investment.
Woolhaven is everything you would want in a DLC. It only adds to what makes Cult of the Lamb special, with the visuals and characters all being as charming as ever. All the hard work you put into raising your cult is put at risk if you cannot calm the storm. A little piece of me died whenever a follower perished. You are forced to adapt to the new climate; it’s hard but not punishing.
Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven is an excellent, pricy expansion. I spent over twenty hours, having an absolute blast, learning the secrets of the mountain. If you have an endgame save, then Woolhaven is absolutely worth the cost for fans of the title.
