Rhythm Heaven brings the cute quirkiness the series is known for to the Switch. It's also packed with a lot of content and distractions. It just might be missing some of the charm that has made previous games some of the best in the genre.

The great thing with Rhythm Paradise Groove [is that] the dance floor is open to us all. I’ll try not to step on your feet.

There’s nothing quite like it when it comes to charm and inventiveness making this a default buy even if not every game hits.

Rhythm Heaven Groove marks a successful return for Nintendo's rhythm series with creative mini-games, catchy music, and charming presentation. While its simple controls make it easy to pick up, mastering each challenge remains deeply satisfying. Combined with a welcome new Story Mode, it delivers a fun and addictive rhythm experience that fans of the genre shouldn't miss.

Rhythm Paradise Groove takes simple musical cue mini-games and creates a fun and engaging concept that is easy to play but difficult to master.

Rhythm Paradise Groove stands out from the crowd with its wonderfully simple gameplay and delightfully bizarre presentation. Tapping buttons to the beat is easy to grasp, but the game's constant stream of absurd, hilarious ideas had me repeatedly thinking: "What the fuck?"—in the best possible way. With more than 110 minigames, there's plenty of content, even if not every challenge is a hit and the single-player campaign could use more gameplay variety. Finishing the main adventure took me around ten hours, while completionists can easily double or triple that by chasing perfect scores and medals. Excellent multiplayer minigames add even more fun with friends.

Rhythm Heaven Groove has a lot going on, with over 80 minigames, tons of bizarre moments, and a whole lot of heart. The series itself feels like it hasn't changed much, but that's exactly why I find it so endearing; it's basically the same sort of experience that permeates through the Nintendo ecosystem, and one that I feel rightfully celebrates the return of Rhythm Heaven. The series is timeless and remains a franchise that fans often clamour over online. Thankfully, this entry is diverse and memorable, with so many fun minigames to keep you busy despite a couple of frustrating additions that do not exude the same joy as the rest of the game offers.

Rhythm Paradise Groove is a kooky, superb rhythm game that has loads of reasons to come back to it time and time again.

Rhythm Paradise Groove is not an easy game to evaluate, as it is a collection of rhythm-based minigames with extremely simplistic gameplay. Nevertheless, we could not completely resist the series' unique charm and found ourselves coming back for “just one more round” time and again. Depending on the type of player, however, your enjoyment may vary considerably. Perfectionists who want to master every minigame and leave their mark on each one will get much more out of Rhythm Paradise Groove, as this significantly boosts its long-term appeal. On the other hand, players looking for varied gameplay mechanics and other forms of lasting motivation may want to look elsewhere. In any case, we recommend trying the demo available on the Nintendo eShop to see for yourself what the game has to offer.

Rhythm Heaven Groove puts your sense of rhythm to the test — and it does so with charm, humour, and an impressive variety of minigames. No two beats are the same, and what starts off manageable can quickly turn into a serious challenge that keeps you coming back for more. The RPG mode and multiplayer options add welcome depth beyond the core minigame collection, while the accessibility features show that Nintendo thought of everyone when designing this title. A well-rounded, beat-packed package that's fun for all ages on Nintendo Switch.

It’s been ten years since the last Rhythm Paradise game, and yet it feels as if the series never went away. Groove is music to the ears, with rock-solid gameplay, catchy tunes, and a truckload of charm.

At first glance, some might think that Rhythm Paradise Groove isn’t a game with much staying power. But if they give it a chance, they’ll find an addictive party game that keeps even a single player engaged.

Rhythm Paradise Groove beautifully channels the experimental, chaotic charm of the DS era with over 80 catchy solo tracks by Tsunku, unique multiplayer modes, and even a rhythm RPG. However, despite its vibrant visuals and creative variety, its unforgiving timing windows and brutal offbeat difficulty make it a punishing experience that prioritizes strict perfection over casual fun.
