EA Sports UFC 6 was a really nice surprise that I felt had a good amount of new content and core upgrades to the formula. Perhaps that’s because I went through a long gap, but I honestly think the core elements that they added here were for the better. Flow State, The Gym, Perks, the Hall of Fame, and general gameplay improvements all felt like great additions. I’d like to see a bit more effort go into the storytelling and writing for the story mode, but it offered a few hours of something a little bit different.
While for me EA's UFC series still hasn't reached to enormous heights of the bygone Undisputed games by THQ, the quality standard of UFC is high. It delivers a complex, very realistic sports simulation with top-notch presentation.

After spending several hours with EA Sports UFC 6, I felt something I hadn’t experienced with the franchise in quite some time: the desire to keep playing. Not because it revolutionized everything or delivered a perfect simulator, but because I finally found an evolution that truly makes a difference both inside and outside the octagon. The fights feel more natural, the strikes carry much more impact, and the new Flow State adds an interesting layer of strategy without complicating things for newcomers.

The Legacy Mode might be a little too short, The Gym Mode relatively pointless, and the Flow State mechanic utterly overpowered, but there’s still plenty to love about EA Sports UFC 6.
EA Sports UFC 6 is the most complete entry in the franchise, offering more accessible gameplay without sacrificing depth. The new Hall of Legends mode and polished presentation add meaningful value, while the improved combat makes every fight feel impactful. EA Sports UFC 6 is a damn impressive fighting experience that captures the visceral brutality of the sport perfectly, all whilst adding meaningful additions that make the fighting more exciting and the experience more accessible. The brilliant presentation of the new game modes and the tactical excitement of the new Flow State mechanics successfully breathe fresh life into the series, and whilst the pacing can suffer a little in Career Mode and the online play can be a little laggy, when you are locked inside the cage and trading leather, the core combat is an absolute blast. It’s just a highly entertaining package that checks almost every box an MMA fan could ask for.
EA Sports UFC 6 is the most comprehensive and ambitious instalment in the recent series, because it doesn’t merely refine the formula: it reimagines it around a more fluid, personalised and visually convincing striking system, more impactful real-time combat, and a richer, more narrative-driven content structure. The game wins you over not because it radically changes the genre, but because it makes every fighter more recognisable, every exchange easier to follow and every impact more palpable, transforming combat inside the octagon into an experience felt more with the body than through mere execution. Striking has been completely reimagined, with over a thousand brand-new animations and greater focus on the fighter’s personality. Real-Time Contact and the work on the Frostbite engine make impacts, takedowns and reactions more realistic, whilst the Flow State conveys the idea of getting into the rhythm of the fight, linking momentum to style and forcing the player to adapt when the match shifts in momentum and direction. It’s a choice that shifts the focus from mere execution to reading the moment, where timing, distance and choice of attack become more important. The game modes are more robust: the career mode is richer and more branching; ‘The Legacy’ with Chris Carter offers a more scripted narrative entry point; ‘Hall of Legends’ celebrates icons such as Alex Pereira, Max Holloway and Weili Zhang; and ‘The La Palestra’ creates a shared progression hub. UFC 6 aims to bring together storytelling, career progression and character development within a more cohesive ecosystem than in previous instalments. On the PS5 Pro, the fighters’ rendering is the most noticeable improvement, with more believable faces, postures and micro-expressions thanks to Markerless Capture and Sapien. The audio, featuring 3D spatial audio and ambisonic sound, makes the arena an integral part of the immersive experience, whilst the soundtrack – superb to say the least – is amongst the best ever created for a sports title. It’s not without its flaws: the Flow State might be too intrusive; the submissions have been refined but don’t offer the same leap in quality that’s evident in other areas of EA Sports UFC 6; and those looking for a radical change might be left disappointed.

With well over 100 playable fighters on the base roster, there's a legend or current-day superstar to test out with the improved gameplay mechanics and new features, including the all-new and intuitive Flow State. The game's assist and difficulty options also give you control and ease you into what's new in EA Sports UFC 6.
EA Sports UFC 6 delivers excellent presentation, plenty of content, and the strongest UFC package EA has produced so far. Its new arcade-inspired mechanics won't please everyone, but solid combat, authentic atmosphere, and meaningful UFC integration make it an easy recommendation for MMA fans.

EA Sports UFC 6 puts the franchise back on track, offering great gameplay and a good range of modes for fans of the sport. The only downside would be a revamp of the ground fighting, making submissions more dynamic and precise instead of just pushing the analog stick back and forth. The vast roster is also a great draw for old-school fans, although some older fighters aren't 100% faithful to their physique. However, the graphical precision and fluidity of the strikes compensate for this flaw, creating a feeling almost like watching a major event.

If you discover the discipline recently, as a spectator or sportsman, and you have never touched a video game of the genre, UFC 6 will capture your attention. It is thus accessible to all in its game modes and its level of difficulty Easy, then its game mechanics also provide good sensations. In addition, he is generous and immersive in his new game mode with this Museum in honor of 3 legends of MMA. EA Vancouver has created the most satisfying octagon experience the series has ever seen, featuring stunning visuals, refined striking, genuinely unique fighters, and the most generous content package in the history of the series. Flow State needs some tweaks that EA has already promised to deliver, and grappling remains that relative the family loves but nobody really knows what to do with. But where it matters most, inside the octagon, trading blows that you can feel at your fingertips, UFC 6 delivers consistently and excitingly. The big catch—and it is a big one—is the price.

UFC 6 overall does feel like a good attempt by EA to make a great MMA game. With its improvements to striking, it’s always solid representation of the brutality of MMA and its promising Legacy Mode, there’s a lot to like here. If they can make the same progressions towards the grappling and the Career Mode, perhaps one day people will stop holding Undisputed 3 as the gold standard for MMA games. For now, UFC 6 still makes for a fun time in its own right.

Still, it doesn't fully escape the limitations of its previous entry. You're getting a more intelligent, more deliberate combat system wrapped in familiar modes, recycled elements, and uneven progression systems. It succeeds most when you're actively fighting. Outside the cage, it still feels like it's catching up.
