Mistfall Hunter Reviews
Mistfall Hunter is a great game that's buried under some questionable design choices. In its best moments, its combat keeps you on the edge of your seat. In its worst moments, you'll constantly be wondering why the devs did things the way they did.
For solo or 1v1 PvP fans, Mistfall Hunter has some real limitations, but for like-minded groups, the game rises above its copycat patchwork.
Mistfall Hunter is a fun but flawed ARPG extraction title that won’t be for everybody. The classes provide meaningful variety, but the game handles multiple archetypes more frustratingly than its contemporaries. If you enjoy ARPGs and extraction games, you’ll definitely get $25 worth of fun out of the game, but your mileage may vary due to repetition fatigue and a list of concerns about the game and its future.
Mistfall Hunter has a few good ideas, but lacklustre gameplay and somewhat shallow RPG elements make the extraction elements more monotonous than engaging.
Mistfall Hunter might alleviate many of the extraction genre's frustrations, but by softening the tension too much, it loses some of the genre's defining thrill.
Mistfall Hunter brings together a wealth of compelling ideas, and in certain areas, it succeeds in molding this fusion into a genuinely enjoyable experience. The engaging combat, diverse classes, expansive skill tree, satisfying loot system, and maps that constantly tempt players to take risks in search of better resources all contribute to a gameplay loop with considerable staying power. The dark fantasy atmosphere further bolsters this foundation, and despite its technical rough edges, the game's world possesses a commendable visual identity. However, the game's ambition doesn't always translate into success. The presence of only two maps, a lack of variety in content, the convoluted nature of certain menus and systems, minor issues with controls and environmental interaction, and most notably, shared loot among companions, all conspire to diminish the experience's long-term appeal, preventing it from living up to its initial promise.

Mistfall Hunter wants to be a seasonal extraction game with soulslike combat, and I think the framework is there to deliver something amazing in the long run.
Is Mistfall Hunter a revolutionary extraction game? Not really. Beneath its aggressive monetization and modest dark-fantasy twist lies yet another entry in an overcrowded genre—one that does little to capture or hold your attention.

Mistfall Hunter reinvents the extraction formula with gratifying RPG progression, satisfying combat, and a memorable fantasy setting. Some technical and design issues hold it back, but the foundation is solid.
Mistfall Hunter is an extraction ARPG that delivers a quite satisfying experience for a first release from Bellring Games. Despite still having issues with repetition, narrative, and interface, its mix of PvP, progression, and combat manages to sustain an interesting experience, especially for those willing to delve deeper into its premise.

Mistfall Hunter has plenty of fast-paced action to keep you occupied. Enemies attacking you from every angle keeps you on your toes. It’s a PvP environment and you cannot avoid it. It’s a nice game but only if you like multiplayer.
Mistfall Hunter is an ARPG with the potential to stand out from other titles in the genre, boasting solid combat, attractive visuals, and a good variety of classes—making it an excellent choice for those looking to get into the genre with something more "unique."However, a weak narrative, questionable microtransactions, unbalanced archetypes, and region-locking that prevents free server switching could deter potential players; yet issues like these can easily be resolved through updates.

If you’re a fan of ARPGs and Souls-likes and enjoy some competition in your gaming, then Mistfall Hunter is a game for you. It’s much more fun with friends, so if you can convince two others to pick up the game, you’ll have a much better experience.
Mistfall Hunter has the bones of something that could be great. However, the current, bare-bones state of the game is full of unnecessary restrictions that limit solo play, an awkward core loop, and predatory monetization tactics befitting of a mobile game. The game’s beautiful world and exciting setting simply were not enough to help me see past its flaws, and while I can see where some players would enjoy the game, I personally would call it “mid” at best.
Mistfall Hunter is unlikely to retain the audience it needs to stay in the spotlight for years to come, but in any case, it’s a commendable first effort for a new studio.

Mistfall Hunter is a pleasant surprise. I usually tend to steer clear of online-focused games, but the satisfying combat and addictive gameplay loop kept me coming back with genuine interest. It certainly has its flaws, including matchmaking issues, underwhelming enemy AI, and some questionable control choices, but the overall package is a solid one, wrapped up in some attractive visuals.
I found myself drawn to play this game more and more; for each loss, there was just as much of a victory in a game as fresh as this. It is visually fun and has an entertaining story to follow, while also offering some “hidden” fun that I won’t spoil—the game’s mysteries and action don’t leave you in the dark, only to play more. I am personally excited to see what comes next with the huge potential Mistfall Hunter has.
Mistfall Hunter arrived with a rocky beta, but the full release proves there's real substance beneath the mist. Its combat is slower and heavier than most extraction shooters, yet it hides a surprisingly high skill ceiling that rewards patience over button-mashing. Add a tense extraction loop, six distinct classes with real identity, and a technical package that runs remarkably smooth on Unreal Engine 5, and you get a game that punishes recklessness but pays off handsomely for those willing to learn its rules.

Mistfall Hunter is a great time on Xbox Series X/S and fantastic fun as a squad of three. If you’re a fan of extraction shooters, then you may appreciate the difference in this game. It’s atmospheric and can be tense, especially when encountering other solo players or squads. Its satisfying combat and runs that have that constant risk in return for reward are what keep the gameplay loop satisfying. The developers have recently unveiled a compelling roadmap that should keep things interesting. Overall, it’s well polished and will keep you coming back for countless hours if you love the concept of diving in and extracting loot and going back for more.
Mistfall Hunter isn't perfect. However, if you can look past a few design choices, you'll find a rewarding adventure that puts a unique spin on the extraction genre.
