Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Reviews
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Play Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, but distance yourself from certain necessary solutions of the developers. I firmly believe that I will not see the duel system in the sequel, I would rather experience something similar to the second part, calmly with a bow, crossbow, but battles and action are not necessary to such an extent.

While there are some gaping holes in its story, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy tells a fun, swashbuckling story that stuns with amazing visuals and performances. The puzzles are excellent, but the same can't be said for the basic swordplay that runs thin or the chokingly linear exploration.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy remains a high-quality production. The art direction is magnificent, Olivier Derivière’s soundtrack is once again exceptional, and the voice acting is particularly well done in both the French and original versions. The choice of Sophia as the protagonist also works very well and allows players to learn more about a character who clearly deserved further development. However, in its attempt to revamp the formula with much more action and a heavy emphasis on puzzles, Asobo Studio has created a more conventional—and, above all, much more repetitive—adventure. The game therefore remains a very good action-adventure title and an accessible entry point for new players. I finished the story, however, with the impression that it was missing something to truly reach the level of the franchise’s best moments.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is not flawless, and there are clear flaws in just about every aspect of the experience. But when you put all the pieces together, they make something really lovely and memorable. I’d be more than happy to suggest it to anyone who likes action-adventure games, faults and all.
A fresh take on the series with a compelling story, new protagonist, and promising sword combat. Its mysterious world and atmosphere stand out, despite technical issues and its departure from the series’ signature stealth and plague elements.

On the Tomb Raider reboot scale this is better than Shadow, not quite as good as Rise.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a prequel spinoff that takes a lot of interesting chances with the series, but only some of its experiments pay off.
Asobo's prequel adds toe-to-toe combat and hands-off puzzling to the Plague Tale recipe to winning effect – but the trauma porn of its second half takes considerable shine off an otherwise smartly paced action-adventure.
Even the bulkiest foe stacked with pips can be stunned and then punted with Sophia's kick.
Overall, I liked Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. I think it adds a valuable chapter to the overall mythos of the series, and manages to carve out its own identity in several places without continuing to rely on fan-favorite Amicia or the terror of contending with waves of rats.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy expands on the universe of Asobo Studio's franchise with a story from Sophia's past.
Most importantly, with the insane presentation and character performances offered here, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy goes far beyond being just a spin-off—it’s a worthy standalone entry and a high-quality follow-up to the past two games.
A hallmark of excellence. There may be flaws, but they are negligible and won't cause massive damage. Resonance takes the Plague Tale formula and refines it to near perfection. With much deeper combat, a good story, amazing soundtrack, and an unmistakably unique take on ancient myths, Resonance is Asobo's crowning achievement.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a fun time. Its simple combat system makes the game approachable for a variety of players, even if it may get a little repetitive toward the end.
Resonance shifts gears and offers a blockbuster adventure that presents few gameplay innovations compared to other similar AAA titles, but perfectly understands that adventurous spirit to offer a captivating narrative and a successful combination of action, puzzles, stealth, and platforming.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a great game with a compelling and excellently performed story. There are still ties back to the original series for fans, and still plenty of tense stealth section, but this is more action adventure with combat that offers a decent challenge. A new way to adapt the mythology of the Minotaur is the cherry that tops this experience.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy delivers a compelling prequel that meaningfully expands the series’ lore by weaving Greek mythology into the Prima Macula’s origins through young Sophia’s perspective. Polished combat, refined environmental puzzles, and dual-timeline storytelling create a more action-oriented yet still tense experience like its predecessors. Stunning environments and strong performance round out what feels like Asobo’s most confident and complete Plague Tale entry to date.
It's as visually striking and polished as Asobo Studio's other releases, but is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy a meaningful evolution for the IP?
The medieval franchise is transplanted to Crete, conjuring action-adventure magic from familiar ingredients
With Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Asobo Studio partially distances itself from the previous installments in the series, not in terms of narrative, which remains compelling and characterized by mature writing and plenty of twists, but in terms of gameplay.
