If you’re attached enough to its ideas and world while tempering expectations then perhaps there’s something more to glean here, but Nivalis Nights is a dish with all the appetizing beauty but little of the everlasting flavor or texture.

After waiting roughly five years to finally play it, I'm just glad it turned out to be a hidden gem rather than five years of hype leading me straight into a digital tax audit.

Nivalis Nights is a decent business management sim, but it fails to really build on its cyberpunk setting and gets a bit boring after a while.

The game Nivalis Nights can be described as an experience with a beautiful appearance but a shallow and scattered essence. A title that presents a visually delightful world where the player can simply enjoy being present in it, but whenever they want to do something, they encounter numerous weaknesses. A work that is ambitious and wants to be both a life simulator and a restaurant management simulator, but fails at both. Perhaps the experience of running your own restaurant in a beautiful cyberpunk-themed world could be inherently appealing and even entertain you for a while, but very soon its small and large weaknesses reveal themselves and will likely discourage you from continuing the experience.

Nivalis Nights takes the cyberpunk life simulation experience to the next level, and it manages to provide us with a very interesting, albeit different look for how the future might be.

A nice slice of life adventure in a cyberpunk city. Relaxing, neat, perhaps too much calm for those in search of adrenaline.

It’s a strong contender to be one of the most intriguing ‘hidden gems’ of 2026. As long as you set your expectations right, you’ll really enjoy getting lost in the streets of Nivalis.

With Cloudpunk, IONLANDS introduced us to a cyberpunk city just trying to get by. Unlike other cyberpunk titles, the emphasis was on the people stuck in this reality just trying to get by and build a better, brighter future. Nivalis Nights expands on that concept in some of the best ways. By shifting the focus to a business owner, you get to be part of the street-level economy in ways you don’t often get to participate. Building your own engaging and rewarding experience, though sometimes too engaging. The city is a character in its own right, bigger than you expect and with more life than you needed it to have. As a player, Nivalis can frequently have the issue of you getting lost in it; as a game, you probably don’t even care.

Nivalis Nights is an excellent game with incredible attention to detail in the design of its world and a gameplay loop that will easily draw you in, leading to long play sessions. However, its poor technical performance and terrible optimization prevent us from recommending what would otherwise easily be a must-play.

Nivalis Nights is a long-awaited life sim of growing a restaurant empire in a cyberpunk world. It isn’t without its problems, but it’s still an enjoyable experience, even if only for wandering around and talking to people.

«Nivalis Nights» aims to combine life simulation, management and a cyberpunk world. It sounds like a mix I could get lost in for hours. But the longer I play, the more apparent its flaws become. The city feels less alive and impressive than I had hoped. Many tasks boil down to running errands, talking to people and ticking off small objectives. Add unclear navigation, forgettable characters and a management system that lacks depth. In the end, I’m left feeling constantly busy without ever being truly hooked. «Nivalis Nights» gives me plenty to do, but few reasons to enjoy doing it.

Nivalis Nights is a gorgeous cyberpunk game teeming with life in its fully realized city. Still, it also stretches itself too thin with an unnecessarily shallow management system and extra gameplay mechanics that don’t quite mesh with its social systems. There’s a fascinating story here, from the unique tales of its NPCs to clever writing that paints a troubling picture of our inevitable future. However, unless you can put up with its performance issues and look past its underwhelming gameplay, you might struggle to fully appreciate everything this neon-soaked world has to offer.

Nivalis Nights turns cyberpunk into a relaxing business and life sim full of restaurants, relationships, exploration, and mystery. The detailed city and satisfying management systems are impressive, but serious performance issues and some frustrating design choices keep its ambitious world from reaching its full potential.

Nivalis Nights successfully captures an authentic cyberpunk atmosphere, offering a wealth of intriguing stories and vibrant characters. Unfortunately, the frustrating restaurant‑management mechanics, poor staff AI, and artificial progression bottlenecks and quest clutter quickly dampen the initial enthusiasm.

Nivalis Nights is one of the biggest gaming surprises of the year. ION LANDS have created an incredibly vibrant cyberpunk city with addictive business management, brilliantly written characters, and an immersive atmosphere. While the initial impression was somewhat marred by the lack of DLSS support and poor optimization, the developers have made noticeable strides forward thanks to three major updates released shortly after launch. If you’re looking for a deep sci-fi life simulator, this voxel-crafted beauty will swallow you whole.

Nivalis Night is between the life simulator, the cyberpunk adventure and the management game. By not limiting his experience and narration to turn a kitchen, he offers a very immersive experience where every day can, if you wish, bring a very different experience from the day before. The little surprise of the end of the year.

There’s always a hunger for cyberpunk worlds, and while Cyberpunk 2077 has undoubtedly dominated the scene, there’s still plenty to discover in Nivalis Nights (and, by extension, Cloudpunk, if you haven’t played it yet). What makes it particularly interesting is that it offers a more laid-back experience, with a strong narrative and investigative focus, while also bringing management-sim elements into the mix to add a little extra spice.

Nivalis Nights is one of the most original, visually stunning, and entertaining management games of recent years, yet it is held back and undermined by a highly unstable technical performance.

Nivalis Nights is a solid cyberpunk business sim with strong atmosphere, detailed restaurant management, and plenty of side content. Its thin life-sim systems and rough performance keep it from being the complete city-life RPG.

There are things I would like to see improved in Nivalis Nights. The tutorials need more explanation, the map needs to be more useful, and the quest journal and indicators need some work. The romance system could be clearer, fast travel can be inconvenient, and the metro is a nightmare. There are also some glitches and crashes that need a little more polish. None of these issues stopped me from enjoying Nivalis Nights, but they did make some parts of the game harder to navigate than they needed to be. What I really enjoyed is how much there is to do. You run your business while trying to make money, grow ingredients, complete quests, build relationships, and figure out what is happening around you. There is absolutely no way to turn your brain off, but that is also part of what kept me playing. I came into Nivalis Nights expecting a very particular combination of things that I happen to love, but what I didn't expect was how it would enthral me.
