Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is a fun open world take on the Hot Wheels formula, with a decent number of cars to collect, events to complete and collectibles scattered across its four islands.

HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush feels like an evolution from the previous HOT WHEELS games, and shifting to the open world setting was mostly a very good idea.

This charming racing game is ideal primarily for children and casual players. You can race across beautifully modeled islands, where there are plenty of races to run and things to smash. The arcade-style handling is easy for anyone to master. While we have seen all the game's elements elsewhere, here they are skillfully combined into a stylish, cohesive package.

While it improves upon the best qualities of previous games set in the famous toy car franchise, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush features an open world that is both its greatest charm and its greatest weakness. It created diversity by offering missions and tasks beyond conventional races, but it also diluted its potential and sense of novelty with repetitive activities.

Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush is a really solid driving game with some frustrating choices made here and there. The biggest issue really comes down to how unlocking things is structured, which, for all intents and purposes, would be fine if it felt like you were making real progress while playing. Still, it manages to justify itself by being a fun and welcoming title that sits comfortably behind the wheel.

Hot Wheels' attempt to make the leap to an open world doesn't quite work out. The driving is fine, and some tracks recapture the brilliance of previous installments, but the grind of generic activities, simple races, and lackluster environments, combined with terrible, dizzying music, results in a game that just can't seem to get off the ground. Its creative aspects and the chance to unlock legendary cars from the well-known brand are the only incentives that have kept me playing a game that isn't helped at all by its graphics engine, Unreal Engine 5

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush boldly transitions the beloved toy franchise into an open-world setting, boasting pristine technical performance, incredibly detailed car models, and robust creative tools like the Track Builder. The driving model is chaotic and engaging, perfectly capturing the essence of the toys. Unfortunately, this ambition is heavily weighed down by a repetitive, grind-heavy campaign structure, unrewarding race payouts, and the glaring omission of a fast-travel system. It's a gorgeous and fun sandbox that ultimately struggles to maintain its momentum over the long haul.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is a racing game that doesn’t always fully capture the "toy" aspect of the brand. That said, it plays well—just as you would expect from a racing game—and offers enough gameplay and modes to keep you entertained.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is an enjoyable open-world racing game. The toy cars are a great fit for such a freeform experience. However, the repetitive gameplay means that Milestone’s game eventually starts to wear thin.

After speeding through colorful islands and driving in several awesome toy cars, I can safely say this is one open-world driving experience I can recommend to all players. Despite a lackluster soundtrack and some minor technical issues with loading times, Hot Wheels Infinite Rush stands out with its unique car class systems, extensive custom track support, and enjoyable islands to race around. It's a playset that looks to its horizons both fondly and eagerly, putting you behind the wheel for a fun time with burning wheels.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is an open world racing game. The core racing gameplay is fun if standard, and the worlds you explore have a lot to do. While the game is fun, it's being held back by technical issues and repetitive content. Still, even with the issues I had a lot of fun, and this will definitely hold over any racing game fans looking to pass some time.

Milestone has made a commendable effort with *Hot Wheels Infinite Rush*; however, to truly stand out in a genre with such fierce competition, *Hot Wheels Infinite Rush* would need more original ideas of its own.

Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush is a clear step up from its predecessors, with varied open-world areas, accessible handling and plenty of collectibles, even if hectic music, missing fast travel and frequent loading times hold it back.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is a game that fully understands who it’s aiming at and, in part, nails it - a fun arcade racer that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

A much-needed leap in quality for the series. It’s no longer just a Hot Wheels game—it’s now a key title to watch in the genre. It still has a long way to go; there are aspects that need improvement, such as the impact sensation, the sound of the vehicles, and a more distinct personality… On the other hand, behind the wheel, it feels like a complete experience—one that no longer requires as many “buts” as it used to. The sense of speed is very well done, and a large number of events and challenges have been introduced across its four islands, which you can now explore freely.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush does a good job of taking something familiar and making it feel bigger without losing what made it fun in the first place. Whether you want to compete, collect cars, explore the islands, build ridiculous tracks or simply drive around looking for the next jump, there is plenty of room to play the game however you want.

Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush is an overly flat sequel to the series. Roaming around and destroying obstacles can be fun, but it ultimately feels pointless, as there is no real cohesion between the sandbox mode and the various challenges on offer, resulting in a mediocre and forgettable racing game, with some graphical issues even on Series X. A shame.

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush stands out as an incredibly fun and accessible take on the open world racing genre that’s oozing with that Hot Wheels toy car charm. The world is packed to the brim with cool tasks to complete, there are a ton of cars to unlock, progression feels rewarding, and the world is gorgeous… what more could you want? Sure, the move to an open world does see the game world itself lose some of the charm of the miniature nature of the Hot Wheels Unleashed series and some of the load times were irritating, but given how successful the transition has been from a gameplay perspective (and how good it feels to race across), it’s easy to forgive.
