Much like the toys around which its tale revolves, Toy Story 3: Complete Edition isn't going to show you any new tricks and is ostensibly a product of its time. A fairly unambitious remaster, Toy Story 3: Complete Edition nonetheless manages to earn its keep thanks to its charming presentation, breezy gameplay and oodles of Disney-Pixar charm. So long, partner.

It was a genuine joy to be able to recapture a small part of my youth by playing Toy Story 3: Complete Edition. I never would have guessed that, 16 years after the original release, I’d still be this charmed by a movie tie-in game for children. If you’re looking for a nostalgia hit, or perhaps have little ones of your own now, then this is an easy recommendation! With all that being said, I’ll be giving Toy Story 3: Complete Edition the Thumb Culture Gold Award!

Sadly, cut scenes remain muddy, but it’s impressive how good this already was. Toy Story 3 was great in 2010, and it’s still a ton of fun in 2026.

Toy Story 3 Complete Edition is a sure-fire hit for any kid and maybe even a few grown-ups who are in touch with their inner child. While ideal for children, older audiences and seasoned gamers may find the core campaign and Toy Box quests to be boring. Aside from hunting down hidden collectibles, the game offers little gameplay depth or difficulty curve. It looks and sounds like Toy Story 3, even if the music is sleep-inducing, but this is still one of the better movie-to-game adaptations from the 2010s. Come for the story, but stay for the Toy Box mode.

Toy Story 3: Complete Edition remains a charming and surprisingly enjoyable licensed game. Its simple but well-designed gameplay, extensive Toy Box mode and local co-op make it a great choice for playing with kids, while the Czech voice acting is a welcome bonus. The short campaign, dated visuals and occasional camera and control issues show the game's age, and Digital Eclipse could have modernized it more extensively. Still, the original's charm and creativity remain intact.

Toy Story 3: Complete Edition is a pleasant surprise that recaptures the golden age of movie-based games. Although the Story Mode is short and suffers from some unevenness in level pacing and control precision, the title truly shines in the rich Toy Box Mode, offering sandbox-style freedom packed with activities and customization options. Ultimately, the Complete Edition establishes itself as the definitive version of an absolute classic-an excellent recommendation for children and a nostalgic journey for longtime fans.

Digital Eclipse and Atari preserve the original while bringing together previously separated content, including Emperor Zurg and four additional Toy Box packs. Two-player local co-op also remains intact, keeping one of the game’s strongest features for family play.

Toy Story 3: Complete Edition is the ultimate Toy Story experience in gaming. Full of life, so much to unlock and discover and two mighty modes that will keep you busy for a long time to come. The remastered visuals and audio bring an extra sauce to one of the greatest movie tie-in games ever made.

As a teen I absolutely loved the video game adaptation of Toy Story 3, not because of the incredible gameplay or the platforming adventure, but simply because I could wander around, build a town and play some minigames. Sadly, the last 16 years have not been kind to this game, with performance issues sitting as the cherry on top of a game that simply hasn’t aged well. Under normal circumstances I would rate the game lower, but preserving the lost content of the original video game, alongside my own nostalgia, means I owe Toy Story 3 a little bit of extra grace.

Toy Story 3: Complete Edition is, above all, a nostalgic and entertaining experience that can still satisfy fans of the series. The gameplay is simple and dated, so don't expect modern gaming standards. If you have fond memories of Toy Story, it's worth your time; otherwise, you probably won't find much reason to play it.

Toy Story 3 Complete Edition works better as a nostalgic trip than as a game that stands on the strength of its gameplay. Revisiting these beloved characters and exploring a world that captures childhood imagination has its charm, especially in Toy Box Mode, but overly simplistic design choices and technical issues hold the experience back. Fans of the franchise may still find reasons to give it a chance, though better controls, properly balanced audio, and more polished execution could have made this adventure far more enjoyable.

DisneyPixar's Toy Story 3 Complete Edition understands that toys are instruments of imagination, capable of transforming heroes into villains, explorers, or adventure companions. The remaster improves the visuals and compiles content, although it misses the opportunity to correct some inconveniences.

Toy Story 3: Complete Edition is a carefully crafted remaster of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game based on the third theatrical film. The Toy Box mode still falls short of its potential, whereas the story mode, while entertaining, is also very short. Bundled in the physical collection together with Retro Roundup, Toy Story fans should definitely give the game a chance — but unfortunately, it simply can't hold a candle to Toy Story 2.

Toy Story 3: Complete Edition is still a treat 16 years on from its original release, with this re-release bringing back the fun main campaign and super engaging Toy Box into one heartfelt package. It really does hold up well today, and sure, the occasional camera issue and lack of visual pizazz can make the game show its age in places, but it still stands out as one of the best licensed games out there and is still a ton of fun to play.

I can see why people still talk about this game to this day. It may look like a simple movie tie-in but under the hood it is a game with a lot of love and care for the source material put into it. It's a real shame we don’t get stuff like this very often these days, because games like this were the backbone of the gaming industry for decades and it is sorely missed.
