Resident Evil 2 Reviews
The remake of Resident Evil 2 is an infinitely frightening experience that flows in an extraordinary atmosphere and benefits so much from valuable gameplay that we can repeat over and over again in the form of its two main characters.

Not only it evokes nostalgia for game veterans but delivers much more to remember it for a long time.
While the game lacks in more open environments with several sections coming out as just hallways, it still nails it with its bleak tone, fantastic enemies, and groundbreaking characters. In short, Resident Evil 2 is a “must have” for any survival horror fan.
Nothing negative can be said regarding the game, except for the difficulty and sense of dread and helplessness you get sometimes, but then again, that is the recipe for a good survival-horror title!
The game assures that the malicious ideas that guided Resident Evil 7 may become the governing principles of the series moving forward.
With a great campaign, extra modes, and other unlockables Resident Evil 2 is without a doubt a must own.
Capcom seems to know exactly what is going on regarding Resident Evil, but they are probably still afraid of their history to some extent.

Resident Evil 2 is a shining example of how remakes should be done.
It deserves to the be held in as much esteem as the original. Cast any doubts aside, and pick up what is unquestionably one of the best third-person survival horror games to hit the market.
Resident Evil 2 on PlayStation in 1998 was one of the most enjoyable survival-horror games ever released. The remake continues that tradition and improves on all the aspects that made it great and the result is what could be the best Resident Evil ever made. It may even be the best horror title ever made just going by the sheer level of craftsmanship and detail. Is it the scariest? It is scarier than the 1998 original, but on current platforms such as PlayStation 4 one would be hard-pressed to find anything that's even half of its calibre. This is one that keeps on giving; highly repayable and full of interesting ways to keep playing, even after completing two campaign variations.
If Resident Evil 7 was the game that put the legs back under Capcom’s iconic zombie franchise, Resident Evil 2 is the game that sees it clear the way back atop its bloodied throne. From the beautiful visuals to the nail-biting scares and frantic combat, this is a horror-experience that not only scares the life out of you, it makes you think as well.
This should be taken as example by any company that wants to develop remakes. We again remembered why we love Resident Evil 2 so much and this surely raises the bar for genre. Looking forward to see more RE remakes.

Resident Evil 2 is a triumphant celebration of the original that scares to the core and sets a new standard for remaking old games.
Resident Evil 2 is an excellent remake of a horror classic. While the narrative shortcomings of the original game remain so does the inescapable menace of its atmosphere and the timeless horror which makes it so compellingly terrifying. Excellent combat and level design make it a pleasure to play while a multiple campaigns and modes make this definitive edition rich with content.
Resident Evil 2 is certainly propped up by being a remake of an already excellent game, but it doesn't simply lean on that legacy. There's so much great work being done to revitalize the experience for a modern audience, and those efforts deserve to be experienced. Nostalgic fans already got their preorders, but for newcomers - you need to summon your courage, turn off all the lights, and let this game fill you with dread - because it's worth it.
Resident Evil 2 Remake is everything a remake should aspire to be. It captures the feel of the original almost perfectly while updating and improving almost everything. It has its flaws, but nothing detracts from the excellent experience. It's fun, spooky, and everything Resident Evil 2 was — but even better. Fans of the franchise and newcomers should enjoy themselves greatly. If you like killing zombies, you owe it to yourself to try out RE2 Remake.
The core mechanics of the original are still very present, even amongst a more action-focused playstyle. If anything, this has widened the audience reach to those who've never played the original and want to enjoy a hearty helping of panic and inventory stress.

Resident Evil 2 is fantastic. It's a reminder that there's still life in the old-school survival horror genre. Not everything has to be so action heavy and you can terrify the player without the need for cheap jump scares. (Even though Resident Evil 2 is guilty of that in a few places.) It's proof that you can still use some old tropes like keys and reusing previous areas without cheapening the experience. However, it might be a little on the short side for some.
