The story is good, most of the time the gameplay is fun, but the constant loss of control over things can be grating.

An esoteric little gem, Dragon Quest Builders 2 is an enormously enjoyable RPG-building sandbox hybrid that deserves time and attention.

A solid, family friendly action-RPG/sandbox hybrid that is perfect for those looking for a more guided, casual experience.

Dragon Quest Builders II is a game that provides the tools for one to craft some fascinating and detailed fantasy creations. The story is what drew me in, however. Dragon Quest Builders II is ultimately a game about fate and whether we are bound to our natures that hearkens to lore from the early Dragon Quest stories. Although rife with annoyances, the overall experience is worth it.

The first Dragon Quest Builders was an amazing surprise, taking all the things its progenitor did and improving on them by adding its own flair and style, now Dragon Quest Builders 2 feels bigger in every way, but only better in some.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 was great when it released on consoles and it’s still a blast on PC.

It's rare to find a game that does this much right so often. With a huge amount of content, an entertaining story, and interesting, varied gameplay, Dragon Quest Builders 2 is really an unmissable title for anyone with even a passing interest in games about building.

There is a lot to love in Dragon Quest Builders 2 and nothing that important in the way of having fun to make you dislike it. The developers have also added more RPG elements and a better story compared to the first outing which makes this sequel a bigger and better package for anyone with any interest in this series.

A lighthearted romp, with plenty of opportunities for creative building and a surprisingly good story.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is a masterpiece. No joke. If automation was to take my job right now, at least I’d have something to lose myself in during these long summer months.

If it wasn’t for the game breaking bug that can make the player repeat dozens of hours, the scoring would be very different from what you will see at the end of the review. It is however something that we cannot ignore.

A good concept, recommended itself from the 1st game, is largely broken on a failed implementation in Dragon Quest Builders 2: a mixture of an jRPG and a sandbox with an overweight in the direction of the jRPG will not suit everyone's taste. Bad episodes with dull artificial intelligence, an obsessive wall of text and empty world are disappointing. But the process of construction and defence of the city is really entertaining. In DQB3 we would like to see more focus on the variability of the walkthrough, deep exploration and development of creative potential of the series, then it would be the perfect mix for lovers of Minecraft like building games with a plot.

Overall, DQ Builders 2 manages to do everything a sequel should do to improve upon the previous game. I fully recommended to anyone wanting to play a more structured Minecraft-like experience to pick this one up.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 takes everything that made the first entry great, and refines it. While the core combat can be a bit on the dull side, the incredible options available for building and crafting make this one an absolute joy to play. Anyone remotely interested in building games and RPGs should do themselves a favour and play it ASAP. You'll quickly get lost in a charming world with seemingly endless options for fun.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 can be recommended to all creative individuals who like to build or care for the farm. Despite the uncomfortable backlogs, such as the more delicate building or the boring arcades on the island, it is a great game.

They are so cute, but the juices and goo underneath their gelatin-like skin is a necessary resource. But I still feel bad. Sorry, Slimes. When my time on this mortal coil reaches its sunset period, I'll let the Slimes have my insides in an act of penance for the goo-based crimes I committed against them.

Even though it may look cute and targeted at children, there is a fully fleshed out RPG here with Dragon Quest Builder 2. It contains some really fun and addicting building mechanics and deep and likeable characters that will keep you entertained for a long time, which is good because the game is quite lengthy. This isn’t just a big sandbox to build stuff in and it’s certainly not ‘just another Minecraft clone’. If you enjoy JRPG’s and building games you’ll probably really enjoy Dragon Quest Builder 2.
