As mentioned above, Cat Quest was pretty good to begin with, so it isn't surprising the sequel is also great. It combines the simple yet effective combat with a new story, additional quests and a few new mechanics that make it feel fresh. While more experienced players will find it rather easy, less skilled or younger players will likely feel at home with the combat. It offers enough challenge to test your skills but not enough to overwhelm. Toss in a cute art style and tons of side quests and it's easy to see why it's fun.

Cat Quest II is a charming little action RPG. Its simple mechanics result in a game which is hugely enjoyable for literally anybody to pick up and play, all backed up by some fantastic design work and infectious humour which never fails to bring a smile to your face. Diehard RPG fanatics might find it's a little on the easy side, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's genuinely good fun to play.

a very good Action RPG, friendly and playful with the player: as playful as a cat or dog puppy. And so pretty too.

Because it is so similar to the original, and because the mechanics are still as bare bones as ever, Cat Quest 2 walks the line between enjoyable and vapid.

I do wish that your AI co-op buddy was a bit more competent, but that's a minor gripe. All in all, though, the time flew by and the smile stayed on my face through almost the entire playthrough. This action RPG promises a wonderful treat if you're looking for a pretty dense game.

Cat Quest 2 is a fun and simple experience that's designed to be enjoyed on the settee with friends and family. It's not as complex or vast as some of action RPG titles, but it's one that is enjoyable from start to finish.

Cat Quest II is a delightful game with easy controls and a lot of content to play through. They stuck to its roots, which this fan is thankful for. Any time I am itching for something to put a goofy smile on my face, the game I'll be reaching for will be curled up and happy to see me.

Cat Quest 2 is a relaxed in-between hack & slay and shows that cute does not necessarily mean simple.

Cat Quest II is a great game for a bit of relaxation on the weekend. The second game in the series makes us to form an unlikely alliance to overcome shared troubles. Unfortunately the game often offers inconsistent difficulty, simply placing tough enemies where we are not supposed to go. Otherwise, it's a nice adventure game.

I can’t express enough just how well The Gentlebros delivers in making a ridiculously charming and rewarding game. Cat Quest II has bucket loads of terrific humour, adorable characters and you will never tire of the entertaining cat and dog puns on offer. The second playable character really adds to keeping combat fresh, whether you play the game in solo mode or in local co-op with a friend. Cat Quest II may be overly familiar to those that have played Cat Quest, but more of the same is definitely not a bad thing when the game is so entertaining and fun to play. This cat-venture is a terrific sequel that certainly gets my tail wagging with joy!

This isn’t a game for those who like deep combat systems or a deep story in their RPGs. Rather it’s a game with a colorful world, well designed characters, and great sense of humor that anyone of any age can sit down and enjoy.

The gameplay is simple, but diverse… and the game is as hard as you want it to be. You can stick to the main story and face a challenge, or you can do every side-quest in sight, explore every cave, and power-level your way to endgame state before you even visit the Lupus Empire. But whatever you do, just play this game. I loved it, my wife loved it, even my cat loved watching me play it. Now pounce along and go get this purrific title.

Cat Quest II is an action RPG that with its world of cats and dogs, makes for a funny and good-humoured experience. With its colourful and eye-filling world and a simple combat system, Cat Quest II can get a bit repetitive at some points and there's not a lot to do after the main quest is done but that doesn't stand on the way of Cat Quest II being another very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Cat Quest II is just as good as the original. The core mechanics remain appealing, while the addition of magic rods and projectile attacks are enough to change things up for those who were afraid of another melee-fest. The elimination of some required grinding makes the game feel more streamlined for those who were anxious to see where the main storyline goes, but the inclusion of local co-op increases the game's fun factor tenfold. This is another job well done and another quality title to add to one's gaming library.
