There's a lot of surface detail, that is clearly just set dressing, yet it still provides one of the most incredibly realized and mature worlds to date. The story and characters are wonderful and pull you into their needs and wants. If you don't mind a number of immersion-breaking bugs or lack of polish, then Cyberpunk 2077 absolutely measures up to be one of the best games out there, but only if you're willing to put the work in to find the good stuff.

The truth of the matter is, Cyberpunk 2077 is a very good, but very flawed experience, but one that is still worth having. And with any luck, one that will continue to improve over time.

Cyberpunk 2077 is not perfect. But the fact is, it doesn’t need to be to completely surpass my expectations. Given my experience and placing that against my expectations, I can unequivocally say that Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the greatest games I have ever played. The brilliant world, outstanding level design, seemingly endless density of detail paired with exceptional performances in incredibly engaging stories, all backed by truly groundbreaking graphics technology combine to create a supremely exceptional experience.

With all of this in mind, Cyberpunk 2077 ends up being one of those games that can be frustrating to love. There are good design elements all over, from a menu option disabling licensed music for streaming to quests that completely change based on whether you choose to go in guns blazing or stay hidden and make sense both ways. The main and side quests are all packed full of great story, the characters are fun to get to know… and yet despite all of the effort that went into this game, we also see the bad design choices I discussed above and an unplayable console version. If you can take the places where it’s a bad example and remember to do better in your own life, and maybe wait until it’s been patched into working, there’s an amazing game here that you can be glad you experienced.

Cyberpunk 2077 is far from ready on the consoles, but it's not close to being ready on the PC, either. Cyberpunk 2077 truly excels in the characters and stories it creates by forming a beautiful, dystopian city that dwarfs many digital cityscapes that came before it. Progression systems are solid if underwhelming; other areas, like civilians and the wanted system, are broken or neglected. The experience is undermined every step of the way, especially on the PS4. This was a disastrous release, and you're better off getting a refund or not purchasing the game until these issues are fixed - if not for your own sake, then perhaps out of principle after we were all misled by CDPR's attempt to hide last-gen issues until it was too late.

I am seriously envious of my friends playing this game who aren’t having issues (mostly PC players), because I see glimpses of the greatness Cyberpunk 2077 has in store. Once CD Projekt Red works through these crashing and glitching issues, and maybe moves the console version of the game into at least a beta phase, it could be fantastic. I, for one, am looking forward to replaying the game with all new choices when Cyberpunk 2077 is fit for console launch.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that was never going to live up to the massive hype it generated but what was released is an unfinished game with too many issues that may be beyond saving.

Cyberpunk 2077's bugs and technical issues certainly hold it back, and with any luck those will be fixed in the coming months. But it's more difficult to imagine CD Projekt Red doing enough to resolve the deeper problems: awkwardly balanced systems, storytelling misfires, and an inability to merge its open-world action and RPG gameplay into something smooth and cohesive.

While I'm not 100% in love with the game due to bugs and difficulty swings, Cyberpunk 2077 is still a solid pickup simply for its story and incredible world. Make sure your system is prepared for it and you'll get a good experience.

After years of anticipation, Cyberpunk 2077 has arrived. Offering a slew of missions, activities, and lore to explore within the breathtaking atmosphere of Night City. If you are a next-gen owner, you are lucky to experience this vast open world with a few technical issues along the way. However, outside of a few shortcomings, when the game shines, it shines bright. The amount of content, choices, and deep story building kept me moving forward. Night City offers more than what's on the surface, but is it worth exploring?

Overall, Cyberpunk 2077 is a fun game that is plagued by bugs. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this game in its current state, but with patches this should improve.

Cyberpunk 2077 is an excellent experience, a good big RPG perfectly mastered, original and very addictive, but is not the huge, monumental achievement that was expected.

Cyberpunk 2077 is the most rewarding and meanwhile disappointing experience of the decade. Although Night City, character and main story are interesting, there are a lot of problems that prevent you from playing a good role-play game

Underneath its issues, and often in-spite of them, Cyberpunk 2077 is a true masterpiece of a game.

I anticipate CDPR's PlayStation 5 version of the game will be an outstanding upgrade to this problematic release, and await with complete impatience and hope that my second trip through Night City will erase my doubt in its potential.

In time, it will likely get better, which makes it hard to recommend, as patience shouldn’t be a requirement to enjoy a video game, especially from a studio highly praised in providing great games. If you do take the plunge, there’s greatness found deep inside, you just need to dig with your hands longer than usual to get to it.

Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot of potential to be a great game, but that potential is buried under a mountain of egregious technical issues.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game of the generation, but its technical and gameplay ambitions can get hampered by either perplexing design decisions or hardware that most gamers have. The open-world futuristic Night City and the people who reside in it are some of gaming's most memorable ones and the story captures the essence of Cyberpunk beautifully.
