Ary and the Secret of Seasons is cute, clever, and fun, with a beautiful world to explore and entertaining puzzles to solve.

Clearly a labor of love, Ary unites puzzles, platforming and exploration into one round package. Although its technical issues are a bit off-putting at first, if you can look past them, there's much fun to be had.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons is a game to love - its dungeons have deserved a prize. I never had so much fun with puzzles in videogame dungeons. The semi-open world, however, seems unfinished in comparison, which costs a lot of the charm.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons is perfect for the old platformer and The Legend of Zelda lovers, but it's literally devastated by technical problems, from tearing to cluncky controls.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons is a basic my-first-adventure, that rarely lifts itself above mediocrity. Turns out having the power of seasons can’t stop the game being a disappointing rainy day in summer when you’d planned to go to the beach.

Unfortunately, Ary‘s problems largely overshadow everything there is to love about it.

The curiosity and enthusiasm that the game aroused in me have been totally buried under a sea of errors of the most diverse, from graphics or performance problems, to a terrible translation, which make you wonder if it makes sense to even release the title to the market in these terms.

Ary and the Secret of the Seasons is a good game, it presents a pleasant and entertaining story, with a nice and pleasant graphic section and enough variety in the puzzles to keep you entertained. Unfortunately it also has quite a few defects in playable sections as important as combat, or visuals such as the interface. Many of these problems can be solved over time, so it can be a great platformer. It is a game that I would recommend to fans of platforms like Banjo-Kazooie, Spyro, Ape Scape, etc., that is, colorful platforms, focused on a story with a good dose of humor. Ary and the Secret of the Seasons is available for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons has some good qualities. However, they're almost always in danger of being trampled by the game's consistent lack of polish and stream of bugs.

Early glimpses of the puzzles and dungeons showed just how great Ary and the Secret of Seasons could be, and while those are realised here, it's just not enough to make up for the numerous issues and missteps. Many players won't be able to even see those best moments unless they have the considerable patience needed to be able to get over halfway through. A true disappointment; there is an awful lot to like here, but ultimately it's hard to recommend this. Strangely, considering how many times it's been delayed, this just feels unfinished, like a preview build.

There are the bones of a fun and inventive game here. I had a blast playing an earlier demo on PC but the Switch just isn't able to deliver that. While I can't recommend the Switch version, this may still be worth checking out in some other form.

As of right now, even for someone as desperate to be captivated by a light-hearted adventure like me, Ary and the Secret of the Seasons is an exercise in frustration that isn’t likely to improve your mood.

I sincerely wanted to enjoy this adventure. Everything I had read about it excited me but here I am, feeling as though I wasted too many hours and grew a dozen new white hairs stressing over a game that was just not ready to be released. From in-game glitches to progression-halting bugs, what little fun there was ended up marred by a game that just didn't feel finished.

If you’re a fan of the genre, you could do a lot worse than picking up Ary and the Secret of Seasons. After all, ‘tis always the season for adventure.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons reminds me greatly of an animated children’s film. It also reminds me of an early-2000s online computer game for kids, complete with choppy cutscenes and terrible graphical performance. There’s a ton of charm to be found in the soft animation and the silly characters, but there’s also a disappointing level of detail that’s missing from this unpolished adventure.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons benefits mostly from its great puzzles, the main characters and Disney-like cutscenes. There are some minor issues in the controls, and on the technical side it's not literally close to current gen standard. But it is worth and fun to play, and this is what really matters.

Ary and the Secret of Seasons is a family-friendly adventure that is meant to remind you of some of the classic action-adventure platformer games from the '90s. It succeeds despite some clunky menu screens and repetitive combat due in part to the delightful main character. Plus, for the gamer-friendly price of $40 bucks, there is a full-size adventure to be had here.

Ary and The Secret of Seasons is one of those game that can beautifully engage players with its world and has the potential to entertains all people from any ages in an impressive way. But of course it doesn't mean that the game is flawless. Unfortunately, this game suffers from many technical issues which in many cases, will affect your progression in a specific level or dungeon. But putting this technical issues aside, Ary and the Secret of Seasons is a fascinating game that every fan if indie games must play!

Taking on the task of making a game that feels like it's intended to occupy the same space as the likes of the Legend of Zelda series, even removing Breath of the Wild from the table, is a rough road few manage to make significant headway in...

Ary and the Secret of Seasons is a lovely looking game with some truly smart gameplay ideas, but all of that is plagued by screen-tearing, performance issues, animation bugs, and a general lack of polish in almost every aspect. After a few patches and a sale Ary could become someone's favourite game, but the fact it launched in this state is just a shame.
