Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Reviews
If you're already a Ratchet & Clank fan, then you've already played better Ratchet & Clank games than Rift Apart. If the game is ever on a sale, purchase it at your own risk and proceed with caution.
Rift Apart stands as culmination of everything possible for the series on next gen hardware, providing a delightful visual and technical showcase held up by top notch writing and a lovable cast of characters.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is an another great Sony title, but the PC port has some quirks.

As the series enters into its third (!!!) decade, this PC port is a fine way to show that the Ratchet and Clank are still compelling characters, and even if there are a few points where it feels like the game could use a little more polish in terms of performance, they can’t take away the fact that Rift Apart is an outstanding game.
A wonderful title that is weighed down by a PC version that needs some patches to improve both crashes and some sound problems.

Despite the issues that need to be resolved, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart manages to provide a pleasant experience for fans of the franchise who did not have the opportunity to enjoy Insomniac Games' latest game.

All in all, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is an excellent addition to the PC catalog. Especially as the genre covered is relatively rare. The game impresses both visually and audibly. Despite some script weaknesses, characters that are often too clichéd and minor technical flaws, the gameplay experience and sense of constantly renewed discovery are supported by levels and a slightly cracked, highly imaginative arsenal. In short, it's a strong comeback for Sony, which manages to erase, in part, the disappointment of March, but the premium price is hard to justify for a game that's over 2 years old now.

Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart was already a beautiful game on the PlayStation 5 and Nixxes Software managed to improve it on PC. The game looks absolutely astonishing and fluid, as if you are walking an Pixar movie. And not only can you enjoy the interdimensional adventure with a controller, the controls for mouse and keyboard are really well implemented. It's just a shame that the PC port has problems with certain hardware combinations.

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart offers a light-hearted and fun sci-fi adventure that is also varied, intense and spectacular. However, the PC version suffers from problems mostly related to optimisation that spoil the overall experience.

Ratchet & Clank: In Another Dimension is a true next generation experience. The graphics, even without the famous Ray Tracing, are eye-popping. I tested it in Full HD and also in 4k, and in both cases the game never fails to surprise with its visuals.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the perfect PC port of a great game if you own the latest hardware and have never played the game. The studio Nixxes has delivered great work and this is the quality you expect from Sony. Every minute in this game is of extremely high quality and Ratchet & Clank series still guarantees a good experience. This is a game you use to showcase your latest hardware. But if you don't own the latest hardware, the question quickly arises whether this is a game where an upgrade makes sense or whether the purchase of the title is even worthwhile.

Incredibly fluid gameplay, a great assortment of the most ridiculous weapons ever seen in a video game, and near-perfect optimization. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a no-brainer if you're on the fence about purchasing it.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is as enjoyable as it was for PS5. The adaptation for PC is capable of being playable on the most modest HW (even it is verified for Steam Deck) and it shall be the example for the next titles coming from PlayStation to PC. If you are a PC player and you have not played this game it is the perfect occasion to enjoy one the most important games on PS5.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a triumph on PC and should set an example for how ports should be - not just for PlayStation games, but for every other game on the platform, too. The game wrapped up in the port is very close to perfect, too. After finishing the main story, I’m still aching to go back to grabbing collectables, zipping around the planets and mashing enemies with ridiculous weaponry at the same time. Boss design can get a little stale in the closing stages, and the illusion of dimension jumping is broken slightly on even relatively powerful PC specs. However, there’s no doubt that Rift Apart is a must-play on PC if you haven’t had the pleasure of trying it on PlayStation yet.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a true showcase for the PlayStation 5 system. It’s visually gorgeous and it’s rift mechanic uses the hardware in amazing ways. I had a fantastic time in this latest adventure largely due to the great cast of characters, especially newcomers Rivet and Kit. I’m excited to see how the franchise goes forward in future adventures as Insomniac games have hit it out of the park again.
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a great PC port of a good game. They've managed to make a port that looks great and performs almost flawlessly. Almost.

nsomniac Games kept the very elements that made Ratchet & Clank special – Clank puzzles, diverse weaponry, whimsical charm – and expertly collided them with the current technological prowess. There are only a few imperfections with Rift Apart, the biggest criticism being a limitation of the dimensional shifting’s more extravagant functionality.
As a technical showcase of what the PlayStation 5 can do Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart sets the bar and sets it high and don’t get me wrong, all of the elements of a brilliant platformer are present and the gameplay is phenomenal while it lasts. Out of a 20 hour 100% run, only 5-7 hours of Rift Apart is spent playing the game, while the rest of the time was spent watching cutscene after cutscene full of explosive set pieces. So long as I didn’t deviate from the set path, those few hours where I had control were absolute perfection, but it felt like Insomniac Games was focused more on how pretty they can make a videogame look rather than producing a memorable game that fans have waited eight years for.
If you can't already tell from my glowing praise, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is absolutely worth adding to your library if you own a PS5. Not only is it likely the best installment in Insomniac's action-platformer series so far, but it also gives you one of our best looks so far at what next-gen games have the potential to do. Whether this is your first foray into Ratchet & Clank or you have been playing these games since the PS2 days, Rift Apart shouldn't be missed.
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is a riot of colors, a technical sector at the highest level and a basic exaltation of an arsenal capable of destroying an entire galaxy.
