Midnight Suns isn’t worth your time. The everyday “life sim” aspect ruins the game and keeps you from the combat - its only truly entertaining part. Locking the gameplay in the day loop forces you to wait, preventing you from having fun.

Marvel's Midnight Suns could more easily be characterized as an experiment by Marvel to test the waters, rather than a complete proposition.

While there's a lot to love about its RPG elements and card-based gameplay, Marvel's Midnight Suns ultimately frustrates too much to be considered a true genre great. Its compelling supernatural premise and gameplay are undermined by MCU-style snark and a disappointing lack of polish, making it land with the impact of a low-charge Iron Man repulsor blast and not a well-timed hit to the face from one of Ghost Rider's patented Hellfire chains. Firaxis Games' title may be fun to play, but its story serves as a disappointing reminder of how Marvel's identity has been homogenized by a decade of formulaic silver screen dominance.

A tight card-driven skirmisher is the beating heart of a deeply troubled Marvel game, burdened by feature creep and endless hours of terrible dialogue.

Marvel's Midnight Suns, unfortunately, is one of those games that I can only recommend if you're willing to stick around its noticeable issues. As it currently stands, the game has the foundations for a phenomenal turn-based strategy game, and the gameplay variety offered by the different heroes you can play is a lot of fun. The writing and story, however, are not good reasons to play this game.

Marvel's Midnight Suns has fantastic card-based combat, something it shares in common with Marvel Snap, along with excellent social features and deeply fascinating Marvel lore. It can engross you for dozens of hours with brilliantly layered, unique gameplay featuring just enough variety to make each battle run differently. But this doesn't mask its fatal flaws, namely some game-breaking bugs that'll prevent you from finishing a game with a clearly established ending.

Marvel Midnight Suns is, by and large, an unfulfilling superhero title that is only as endurable as it is courtesy of how great Firaxis are at what they do. There's a lot of heroes and just as many hollow hellos between them that makes me wish all of the story's character drama was checked at the door for more of what Midnight Suns does well.

Midnight Suns is a title that cannot be easily described or recommended. It's a peculiar combination of a functional and addictive card-based combat system with something that shows hints of games like Fire Emblem. Building relationships with Marvel heroes is an integral part of this title, and the developers, if nothing else, have to be credited for going for something like this. Plenty of things and aspects could have been less or vastly improved upon, but all around, this game goes its way, and those it's designed for have dozens of hours of fun ahead of them.

At its best, "Marvel's Midnight Suns" puts you at the heart of adrenaline-pumping action sequences pulled straight from the pages of Marvel Comics.

Midnight Suns is easy to recommend for fans of comics, strategy, and roleplaying games. While Firaxis does go overboard with the base-building and crafting side of the game, I did enjoy getting to know my heroes better. This game truly shines thanks to its unique and memorable combat system. Thanks to the mission structure and DLC on the way, it feels like a game I’ll revisit again and again.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is an okay game but could've been a lot better. The game is filled with boring tasks and side missions and the main character doesn't have much of a personality or many emotions. The game would've been a lot better if the developers didn't include all the RPG aspects. However, Firaxis is clearly still great at making strategy games, because the strategic missions are the best part of this game. The storyline is great and It's cool to see the other heroes together.

Despite being an uneven experience, Midnight Suns is ultimately still a good game that's worth a try for tactics and Marvel fans.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a massive and long RPG with substantial production value. Every character is fully voiced, and there is actual camera work in the cutscenes. The fan service is off the charts for Marvel fans and the obvious, on-the-nose storytelling is exactly what they deserve. If you are interested in a deep and compelling turn-based RPG and don’t care for Marvel media, you are still liable to have a good time.

Is Marvel's Midnight Suns a great game? I don't think so. I think it's tactics are fun and solid, but they take a backseat to the RPG and relationship elements. Your enjoyment of those elements rely far too heavily of your investment on the Marvel formula, and for me there just isn't enough of a meaningful pull to go through these laborious conversations for hours on end to have just a side of tactics. Your mileage may vary, but I feel that for many, this will be a game that goes down as an interesting experiment that will be copied by others, and those games will benefit from the risks that Midnight Suns has taken.

Despite some of these shortcomings, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is still a blast to play, as you get to really experience what it’s like to be a powerful superhero, thanks to excellent gameplay mechanics. It’s just a shame that they didn’t flesh things out just a little bit more when it comes to the world and how it wants to tell its narrative and portray these iconic superheroes, as that would have made it a truly elite game in the genre.

Marvel's Midnight Suns is a hero on the battlefield, where its card-based combat is a hit. The release's more adventurous social aspects are conceptually interesting, allowing you to candidly interact with a spectrum of personalities, but the writing and cutscene direction simply isn't up to scratch. It means that you'll spend long stretches of gameplay itching to get back to the action, but the lure of the tactical battles with pull you through. It's an unusual, unfocused title at times, but one with character and ambition that's easy to appreciate.

Midnight Suns is definitely worth checking out. The game has a lot going for it and the story is actually pretty interesting across the board. There’s a lot of scope for the future with this one, including playable characters like Venom and Morbius (not to mention THAT teaser after the final battle!) this game may just be the brightest star in a dark Marvel sky this year.

Marvel's Midnight Sun manages to offer a more dynamic version of the other Firaxis productions. We find most of our favorite heroes in addition to having the possibility to create our own protagonist. The fights offer some real spectacular moments. The main problem of the title concerns the dead time between missions. The dialogues are far too numerous and often not very interesting. Exploring the Abbey is more of a chore than anything else while the secrets are just another text to read. The pace of the game is very uneven even if on the whole you have a good time. The title doesn't seem to know what to do.

In several respects, Midnight Suns reflects the tendencies of the more streamlined, popcorny, and entertaining MCU films. It isn’t what I expected, in a good way. It’s incredibly easy to recommend to any Marvel fan, and is simple enough to pick up and play for strategy newcomers.

Marvel's Midnight Suns might not deliver on everything it's setting out to do, but is still an excellent fusion of hardcore strategy and super hero action. It's engaging to take down enemies with your superpowered pals, and then getting to unwind with them afterwards.
