Urban Myth Dissolution Center Reviews
A stylish but slow-paced mystery anthology that's just a little too sluggish for its own good.
Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a fantastic game for those who appreciate short story collections that encompass all things weird and creepy. I played it on my Steam Deck, curled up in bed with it much like I would with one of my folklore books. Just don’t forget to check under your bed before you get into it.
If you can’t tell by now, I’m deeply in love with this game. I just don’t want to give away too much yet. But I believe it tells an important story about the made-up, easily digestible realities behind the complicated, horrible events in our day-to-day lives. About social media white knight justice as a feel-good spectator sport and how we treat tragedies, culprits, and their victims in our always-online world.
If you like psychological horror, thrillers, mysteries, and the atmosphere of ghost stories, you’ll enjoy Urban Myth Dissolution Center. If you prefer your games to have actual gameplay beyond gathering and assembling information, you probably won’t. But please give this title a shot just for the sheer experience of playing it. It’s an unsettling gem.
Reaching that finale is well worth your time, as it brings together elements from each of the previous episodes into a spectacular finish, with multiple twists. I’m still thinking about the final post-credits scene even now. Just wait, and in a minute, I’ll tell you more about why you should play this game immediately. It’s just that there’s a scratching sound coming from the front door, and I need to go and find out what’s making it…
Leaning more into visual novel territory than detective work, Urban Myth Dissolution Center firmly guides you through some of the spookiest stories in contemporary folklore. Its striking pixel art and emphasis on social media as a tool for investigation lend it a unique charm, though it's let down by repetitive gameplay and awkwardness in its narrative pacing. Worth a look for fans of creepypasta, but those keen on a more fleshed-out investigative experience may be left wanting.
In an era where Japanese detective games have become increasingly rare, Urban Myth Dissolution Center stands out despite some questionable case quality. Its creativity, premise, and excellent final twist make it a title worth recommending. As long as you're willing to overlook its somewhat sluggish investigation segments and the lack of challenging deductions, the game ultimately delivers a satisfying experience.

The gripping story, nightmarish visuals, and mysteries are what will keep gamers hooked on Urban Myth Dissolution. It’s an awesome depiction of the anxieties of modern urban life and myth plays a role in our lives.
Pixeltastic psycho-detective mystery adventure on Switch
Urban Myth Dissolution Center brings a beautiful and fresh experience to a niche genre that doesn't get enough attention nowadays, but doesn't quite stick the landing.

Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a novel take on the ADV genre that is worth playing, even if it can be finished within a weekend. It makes you think, and not just when it comes to solving a case: its commentary on society, social media and the genesis of urban myths has left an impression on me after finishing the game, along with that spectacular ending.
If any bit of what I've said so far is compelling, please stop reading any content about Urban Myth Dissolution Center and go buy and play this game. It's one of my favorite games of its type, maybe ever, and I am really dying for similar games from this developer. This is a unique, incredibly well made experience that came out of nowhere for me - that might be an urban myth of its own.
An excellent horror/thriller story that could have benefited from a more brave and focused gameplay system.

Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a fantastic blend of supernatural mystery, atmospheric storytelling, and investigative gameplay. The detailed pixel art, engaging cast, and episodic structure make it a perfect pick for fans of mystery stories, especially those who grew up watching episodic detective shows. While the investigation mechanics could have evolved further and the pacing occasionally stumbles, these are minor flaws in an otherwise engaging experience. For anyone looking for a stylish, eerie mystery adventure with an eye catching art style, Urban Myth Dissolution Center is well worth diving into.
Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a visually striking detective thriller that delivers a chilling atmosphere and fun mysteries, even if its gameplay remains light.
Urban Myth Dissolution Center offers a visually striking and intriguing mystery-solving experience with its nostalgic pixel art and modern twists. While the gameplay loop is engaging and the social media integration adds a fresh layer, the slow pacing, underdeveloped characters, and inconsistent case quality hold it back.
Whilst there isn't much gameplay to get stuck into, Urban Myth Dissolution Center has an engrossing mystery worth experiencing. Hypnotic visuals and decent writing may not make the game feel any less slower but it's perfect for those wanting a macabre visual novel to get lost in.
If you enjoy detective games, or narratives with twists, then Urban Myth Dissolution Center is for you. When asked how long it took to play, I seriously thought each case took me an hour, when in fact it had probably taken triple the amount of time. I didn’t notice time passing by, that’s how much I was enjoying it. I know I keep making the comparison but it really is like Ace Attorney without the courtroom and I’m not the only one making it. Another friend asked if it was a perfect game and after thinking it over, I believe it is. We don’t do scores here, but i reckon this would get full marks from me.
Urban Myth Dissolution Center is a gripping supernatural mystery that blends high school occult investigations with immersive storytelling. While its linear gameplay and repetitive mechanics hold it back slightly, its haunting atmosphere, well-developed characters, and compelling cases make it hard to put down for fans of detective and horror narratives.
A well-crafted suspense game that cleverly weaves urban legends and social media into its narrative. While it lacks complex detective puzzles or interactive elements, the subtle hints and foreshadowing make it thrilling to piece together the story and see if your predictions come true.
