Lost Soul Aside Reviews
With elements that compromise the experience, Lost Soul Aside is an example of a game that could have been excellent but drags on unnecessarily. The fast-paced combat delivers satisfying combos and the soundtrack is memorable, but even these strengths fall flat during a campaign hampered by a shallow narrative.

Lost Soul Aside's combat is a lone warrior to carry this whole package, the story and dialogue are poorly written with a voice acting that drives you away from these characters

Lost Soul Aside is a game that can impress with its spectacular combat system and impressive boss battles, but otherwise it is full of simplifications and unfinished elements. The plot often loses its logic, exploration disappoints with its corridor-like structure and technical errors, and the graphics are stuck in the PlayStation 4 era. Advertised and priced as a AAA title, the game is actually closer to a mediocre AA title. It's a game that may satisfy fans of dynamic action, but in a broader context, it's hard not to call it a big disappointment.

A bland stylish action that proves how ambition and passion should never override actual experience.

Lost Soul Aside is an experience with ups and downs, where some elements work brilliantly and others fall short. On the negative side, we have a forgettable story, flat characters that are impossible to connect with, and a world that, in the end, we don't really care about. On the positive side, there's platforming with good and bad moments, lots of madness, and fast-paced combat full of clever mechanics that you'll enjoy more as you progress through the game.

Lost Soul Aside certainly has a lot going for it with its incredibly enjoyable combat, stunning environments, sense of variety, and oodles of upgrade opportunities. However, if you're looking for an immersive story or memorable characters, it will surely disappoint. 🐉
Lost Soul Aside is a game that tirelessly tries to captivate the eye, but spectacularity doesn't always triumph over consistency. The combat is remarkable thanks to a system of four interconnected weapons and flashy abilities, but its not enjoyable for long and fails to redeem the severe structural deficiencies, condemning the game to a status that could have been more.

Lost Soul Aside is a game that not only failed to meet any expectations built in the years since its announcement, but also failed at achieving the bare minimum quality I'd expect from a game like this, a decent combat system doesn't make up for everything else being a disaster.

Lost Soul Aside is quintessential big, dumb fun. You won't find much sense in the story and may cringe at the voice acting, but turn your brain off and you'll have a good time.
The soulless world of Lost Soul Aside and its equally soulless characters fail to give the title any identity that would help it stand out as a truly unique game.

In conclusion, Lost Soul Aside is a title we recommend to anyone looking for a simple game, as long as they're not looking for an elaborate plot. It's a title that features several valid concepts, but it hasn't been properly refined and therefore presents several uncertainties.

Lost Soul Aside had huge ambitions and plenty of time, but unfortunately, not enough talent. Many of the ideas seem forced and unnecessary, the game doesn't know when to stop, and the story is extremely uninteresting. The entertaining combat system simply can't save it.

Lost Soul Aside lands as a dazzling yet uneven action RPG, as it thrills in combat but falters in story, world, and polish for a flawed but interesting debut.
I can see a place for Lost Soul Aside, even if that place isn’t on any modern day GOTY lists. Its combat is solid enough that if you want something that captures the same feeling as PlatinumGames or Ninja Theory circa 2011 – and don’t mind sitting through a little too much talking to get there – then it’ll more than do the trick.
Lost Soul Aside is a particularly frustrating case. Yang Bing and his team have managed to create flashy and quite fun action game full of mostly well-designed boss fights, nice graphics and great music. But nearly everything else around it is so hollow and tedious that it was hard to muster the energy to see it through to the end. And I apologize for nitpicking about the price, but when a game drains roughly 70 euros from your wallet, certain aspects really should be in a much better state.

For a project born from the vision of a single developer determined to bring his idea to life, in a sense, the goal has been achieved: Lost Soul Aside is indeed a lengthy and somewhat varied adventure which, while overall rather dull, can still manage to entertain for around twenty hours. However, the asking price and, above all, the PlayStation brand looming over the title inevitably create expectations that are left unfulfilled, due to a series of issues that undermine its overall quality. What remains is the regret of a missed opportunity, softened only by a combat system that, taken on its own, still manages to deliver some genuinely enjoyable moments. A real shame.

Lost Soul Aside is the dream project of Chinese developer Yang Bing, who took his first major step into the gaming industry with an ambitious title that opened doors wide. However, the game itself isn’t entirely original, borrowing elements from a wide range of existing titles. Execution suffers from shortcomings in certain areas, yet overall it delivers an enjoyable experience that shows promise for the future. That said, at a full $60 price tag and in a month crowded with major releases, the wiser choice may be to wait for a discount. Lost Soul Aside showcases Bing’s strong talent in crafting combat systems, while also revealing weaknesses in areas like storytelling. I’m genuinely excited to see what he can deliver next once he refines the rest of the experience.

Lost Soul Aside doesn’t hold up in any other respect. Every additional hour with it was a dose of boredom and frustration, thanks to the dreadful camera work and the clunky controls of the main character, which lack any sense of physics. It’s just incredibly bland. It doesn’t do anything well enough to actually draw players in.

If you’re into stylish action games, there’s enough here to keep you entertained, especially the boss fights. But it also feels underbaked, like a strong first attempt that needed more time and more experience behind it. I’ll be keeping an eye on what this team does next, because the potential is definitely there.
Unfortunately, despite all the effort and a long, difficult development, we ultimately ended up with a rather half-baked project. The effort is most visible in the combat system, but it is stifled by the dullness and monotony of everything else.
