It’s exciting to watch them build this shared fable universe in real time, and even though we don’t know what’s next for them as developers, it’s difficult to imagine it being less than excellent.

An entirely new area, exciting weapons, horrible monsters, and some fantastic boss fights make Lies of P: Overture a must-buy.

Not everything is perfect: some bosses are disappointing, the level design is less open and there is room for technical improvement. But those who liked Lies or P will also enjoy Overture. It is not a revolutionary DLC but a well-made and atmospheric addition to an already strong game.

Lies of P: Overture is a fantastic, lore-packed DLC that pays off the rich storytelling foundations of the base game. Though somewhat short, the core mechanics remain as satisfying as ever, and the fresh content, OST, and voice acting make it a joy to explore. If you're a Lies of P fan, this DLC is one you absolutely should not miss out on.

Even if it’s clearly dancing on the same old strings, Lies of P: Overture is an excellent expansion that adds a whole lot more to a game that was already great.

Lies of P: Overture is just an extension of an already terrific game, and that’s great. It’s almost nostalgic, reminding me of a decade ago when DLC was the norm, and not every game was bombarded with monthly updates or roadmaps. It’s a great expansion that attempts to give Lies of P its own identity, and while it doesn’t really improve or build upon the features that you’ve grown used to over the course of dozens of hours trawling the streets of Krat, it didn’t need to. I’m more than happy with a second helping of Lies of P.

With a finale that wraps up Lies of P neatly in a box, like the one Gepetto lugs around Krat, I’m left fulfilled and grateful for this strange and unique Pinocchio-inspired package. Overture, like its base game counterpart, is an excellent Soulslike journey that oozes confidence, fun, and a deep appreciation for the genre.

Lies of P: Overture is a valid addition to the base game, in particular because it doesn't just add new gameplay (enemies, bosses, weapons, Legion arms) but also some very powerful story moments. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Overture might not be a proper sequel, but it is a great reminder about what makes Lies of P such a fantastic Soulslike.

Ultimately, Lies of P: Overture is configured as a further testimony to the crystalline talent of the Korean developers of Neowiz and Round 8 who, after having hit like a hurricane in a seemingly saturated market such as that of soulslike action/RPGs, replicate the winning scheme by declining it in an adventure with even darker tones, supported by a powerful imagery and an exciting story. Net of some qualitative contraction in some moments and a not exactly stellar duration, the expansion of Lies of P will certainly delight those who loved the epic of Geppetto's favorite son. Are you ready to return to tread the streets of Krat?

Overture expands the combat options in Lies of P by introducing new weapons, accessories, and thrilling boss battles. Additionally, the DLC plays a key role in deepening the story of central characters while adding new layers to the rich and dark world of Krat.

Lies of P: Overture is a strong and rewarding expansion that builds on the base game with memorable bosses, new gear, and a darker, emotional storyline that acts as both prequel and epilogue. While some issues remain - like uneven level design and occasional camera hiccups - the excellent combat additions, quality of life improvements, and high narrative quality make it a must-play for fans, offering 15 hours of rich, atmospheric content.

Although I have to admit that I had a pretty rough time during the first few hours, Lies of P Overture ended on a high note. The story it tells complements what we saw in the base game, with nods and more depth to the old stories...

Lies of P: Overture is not a revolution. It doesn't make big changes to the gameplay or the way the story is told. It does, however, make things better. It makes the disaster worse. It shows new, horrible things. With care, cruelty, and clarity, it makes a great base game last longer. Lies of P: Overture is a dark welcome home for soldiers who have been away for months.

Lies of P: Overture establishes itself as a robust and highly competent complement to the base game, managing to expand on all of its central pillars — narrative, gameplay, setting, and especially the boss fights.
