Lies of P: Overture has brought me back to what I felt when playing the original game. It's addictive and features challenging battles, a perfect soundtrack, and a story that moves you from within with all the tragedy surrounding it. We find ourselves with a very consistent expansion that expands the lore of Krat and its characters, but you couldn't ask for anything more. If this were a FromSoftware game, we already know where it would be nominated, because Neowiz once again proves they master the soulslike genre, and I can't wait to lie again in the Lies of P sequel.

Lies of P: Overture offers even more of what we initially liked. Without revolutionizing anything, it simply adds what made us love the game in the first place. Sublime settings in a magnificent universe, tough but memorable bosses and variety in the gameplay. We sincerely hope that the team of developers is already working on the sequel, because we can't wait to see what they can do!

For fans of the base game, it’s an essential encore. For newcomers, it’s a compelling reason to dive into one of the most stylish and satisfying Soulslikes in recent memory.

Lies of P: Overture builds on the strengths of the original with tighter levels, sharper boss fights, and a more focused story, offering a shorter but meaningful experience. It’s designed for those familiar with the game’s systems, delivering a tough challenge that can sometimes feel overwhelming but mostly remains fair.

While it is as yet unclear when a true sequel to Lies of P will be forthcoming, the release of Overture should bridge the gap until then nicely. Areas are varied, with hidden secrets to uncover, and enemies — particularly bosses — like to hit hard and fast.

With a lot of new content in every aspect, Lies of P: Overture is worthy of the title of expansion. Although it partially wastes the potential of the art direction by spending too much time in bland corridors and caves with little visual appeal, these extra chapters maintains the quality of the main campaign as a whole, being a significant and mandatory extension for all who enjoyed the adventure of Geppetto's puppet and want to delve deeper into it.

I really enjoyed the excuse to load up Lies of P again and consider it my favorite non-Fromsoft title of the genre. The new areas in the Overture DLC are fantastic and the boss fights are easily on par with the best ones from the base game with a fantastically emotional final boss fight. Admittedly, the playtime vs cost might not be for everyone in this post-Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree world, but for someone who loves the world of Krat, Pinocchio, and the Stalkers, I found it to be well worth the wait and the price.

Lies of P: Overture is a great expansion that doesn’t necessarily change the narrative of an already beautiful story. It has great fundamentals, and it emphasizes them, adding details to the already great game. If you’ve already finished the original game, it might feel the same to you with just the added lore, but if you’re coming back from a hiatus, then you have zero reasons to be disappointed if you already love the game on your first playthrough.

Although I have to admit that I had a pretty rough time during the first few hours, Lies of P Overture ended on a high note. The story it tells complements what we saw in the base game, with nods and more depth to the old stories...

Lies of P: Overture is not a revolution. It doesn't make big changes to the gameplay or the way the story is told. It does, however, make things better. It makes the disaster worse. It shows new, horrible things. With care, cruelty, and clarity, it makes a great base game last longer. Lies of P: Overture is a dark welcome home for soldiers who have been away for months.

Not everything is perfect: some bosses are disappointing, the level design is less open and there is room for technical improvement. But those who liked Lies or P will also enjoy Overture. It is not a revolutionary DLC but a well-made and atmospheric addition to an already strong game.

Lies of P: Overture establishes itself as a robust and highly competent complement to the base game, managing to expand on all of its central pillars — narrative, gameplay, setting, and especially the boss fights.

Overture might not be a total reinvention, but it’s a sharp and confident expansion that knows exactly what fans love about Lies of P – and gives them more of it with plenty of style and substance. It’s a must-play for fans of the original and a promising sign of what’s to come. Whether you’re returning to Krat or simple never left, Overture proves there are still more brilliant strings to pull in the world of Lies of P.

Lies of P: Overture is capable of expanding and improving everything that made the base title so fascinating. With more refined level design, smarter enemies, new weapons, and a narrative (silent and otherwise) that adds depth to Round8's re-imagined universe, Overture stands out as one of the best add-on content in years. An intense, deep and highly satisfying experience. The show, once again, made its mark.

Lies of P: Overture is a challenging and atmospheric DLC that builds on the original game's strengths with expanded levels, memorable boss fights, and a darker, more focused narrative. While occasional difficulty spikes and polish issues persist, it’s a must-play for Soulslike veterans seeking an intense, rewarding experience.

Overture somehow builds on the foundation of excellence the base game started. The story is emotional and connected in ways that make every decision have weight, the gameplay is as polished as ever and filled to the brim with tons of challenge and skill expression, and the world is one of the of the most depressingly beautiful setting I’ve experienced in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting the ruined streets of Krat and can’t wait to see what Neowiz comes up with next. Overture stands as one of the most fun, albeit short, DLC’s I have played since Phantom Liberty and I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone who enjoyed the main game, or Soulslike fans in general.

I’ve always loved Lies of P, and in a crowded market full of Souls-like, it remains my favorite. While the Overture DLC isn’t perfect, particularly with its difficulty scaling, most of my other complaints feel like nitpicks. Some areas in the new zones can feel a bit linear, but that’s easily overshadowed by the gorgeous environments and creative level design. One moment you're battling wolves on a snowy mountain, and the next you're dodging flaming pins in a twisted, dark carnival. Also, the music was excellent and complemented the new content perfectly. The game ran flawlessly on PlayStation 5 Pro using the High Frame Rate/Quality mode. I experienced zero performance issues throughout my playthrough. Not every boss stood out, but the ones that did were excellent. The final boss fight, in particular, was one of the most memorable I’ve played in a long time. If you're a fan of Souls-like, I can't recommend Lies of P: Overture enough—it’s a must-play addition to an already fantastic game.

Lies of P: Overture is a rich DLC, sufficiently long-lasting and well integrated with the base game, even though it is a prequel and therefore a separate adventure. There is plenty of plot, a great sense of discovery, just the right amount of horror, new quests, new weapons, new bosses (although not many): despite a few flaws, it is a quality product that managed to excite and entertain us. Players who loved exploring Krat are unlikely to be disappointed. Happy hunting, puppets!
