Dispatch Reviews
Dispatch is a genuine delight from start to finish. Aside from the minor (and as of this writing, now irrelevant) nag of having to wait for the entire "season" to be done, I can't think of any strong complaints. The characters are fun and likable, the plot is pretty darn enjoyable, and it's probably the most fun Telltale-style game I've ever played. Add to that the fun dispatch-themed gameplay, and you've got something that's firing on all cylinders. If the crude humor and concept don't turn you off, Dispatch is a must-play for any superhero fans.
Dispatch isn’t memorable for its plot twists or a perfectly structured narrative — it’s the quiet, fleeting moments that truly define it. When Robert brings that extra drink to win over the club’s guard, or when Invisigal’s jealous gaze cuts through the smoke and music, the game captures something raw and human. AdHoc’s artistic direction is nothing short of stunning, hinting at a studio capable of greatness. But before it reaches that height, it needs to find a story and gameplay that live up to its visual ambition.

Excellent Rated M for Mature episodic experience with superheroes and stuff
Overall, Dispatch delivers a gripping narrative experience with beautiful presentation and well-crafted dialogue choices. While it offers limited direct interaction, its storytelling depth more than makes up for it. For fans of dialogue-driven adventures, this is a must-play, and you'll finish it with a genuinely satisfying feeling.

Dispatch is the perfect example that superhero stories can still captivate us. It has a plot full of hilarious moments and unexpected twists that you can shape with your choices. On top of that, there's a more strategic side that brings you even closer to its charismatic characters. In summary, the game developed by AdHoc Studio is another gem of 2025.

Dispatch is a masterful evolution of the narrative adventure genre, proving that the heart of superhero stories lies in human consequences rather than just spectacle. AdHoc Studio has crafted a tense, visually stunning workplace thriller elevated by a legendary voice cast—including Aaron Paul and Jeffrey Wright—and a clever 'dispatch' mechanic that gives genuine weight to every decision. It is a sharp, mature, and deeply affecting experience that stands as the definitive spiritual successor to the Telltale legacy.

Dispatch is a vibrant narrative adventure that channels the spirit of classic Telltale storytelling. Centered on the grounded yet compelling Mecha Man, it offers a character-driven experience filled with meaningful choices, sharp voice acting, and a refreshing presentation style. While it nails emotional dynamics and voice performances, uneven pacing and gameplay repetition occasionally dull its impact. Still, fans of episodic storytelling will find plenty to enjoy in this heartfelt debut.
AdHoc Studio bets on the episodic format to tell the story of a fallen hero, in charge of managing a group of villains who try to do things better.

While the gameplay itself is superficial, Dispatch is a surprisingly funny and poignant debut that shows great potential.
Still, despite some minor complaints about the ending, I had an absolute blast with each episode of Dispatch. For the last few weeks, checking out the new episodes has become a part of my Wednesday schedule that I couldn’t wait for and now that the game is over I’m going to miss it next Wednesday. With excellent characters, an interesting world, and a mostly satisfying conclusion, my only real complaints are that I wanted more of it. More room to develop the plot and more of the interesting gameplay. Hopefully it won’t be too terribly long before we get more of Dispatch.
The new work from AdHoc Studio and Critical Role is an adventure that arrives in the right place at the right time, just as you would expect from a superhero managed at its best by the SDN.

Dispatch is an episodic and interactive superhero adventureDispatch is an episodic and interactive superhero adventure game about building up a ragtag team of reformed villains. Windows PC version reviewed. A copy of the game was provided by the publisher.
At the core, Dispatch tells a tale of humanity, togetherness, and teamwork. It does so with immense quality across the board. From beginning to end, right down to a satisfying conclusion that both leaves space for expansion of these characters and the universe, but also works fantastically as a one-off narrative adventure.
Dispatch wins because it understands that heroism is logistics, leadership is a style choice, and comedy lands best when it’s grounded in work you recognize.
Dispatch is a triumphant debut from Adhoc Studio, echoing its own themes of second chances. Minor gripes like unnecessary QTEs and light narrative branching can’t dim its brilliance—this is narrative-driven excellence at its peak. It isn’t flawless, but it’s profoundly human, laugh-out-loud funny, and surprisingly emotional. It’s one of 2025’s absolute must-plays for every type of gamer and will be heralded as a redemption of the dwindling genre for years to come.
Dispatch is a rare example of a narrative adventure that understands exactly what it wants to be and executes its vision with finesse.
By now, it's well documented that the original vision for Ad-Hoc Studio's Dispatch was very different to the game that hit store shelves. Conceived as a choose your own adventure, live action, interactive TV show akin to Netflix's Bandersnatch, the COVID lockdowns resulted in the project being shelved for a few years, and only uncovered in the wake of creative differences with Telltale Studios over The Wolf Among Us. Eventually, after a troubled development, Critical Role (yes the D&D podcast people) announced a partnership to help Ad-Hoc found their creative vision.
Dispatch is one of the best story-driven games of the year. A must-play for all fans of the genre and for anyone looking for something with its heart in the right place and a cast of charming characters.
