CAPCOM's new PRAGMATA IP feels like a return to old-school design: extreme linearity, no unnecessary bells and whistles, and a narrative barely worthy of such a name. There's beauty in such simplicity, and the game's main quirk, the real-time hacking mechanics, provides a fun, yet original combat experience. However, it doesn't go much deeper than that in any regard, ultimately satisfying the player without leaving any lasting memories.

Hugh and Diana’s journey may admittedly rely heavily on sci-fi tropes and the broader story suffers and ends up feeling quite small stakes as a result, yet the pair’s relationship never failed to make me care about the wider universe it hints at. A good thing, too, as it’s one I hope we get to see more of in the not too distant future.
Pragmata knows its strengths and leans into those hard, and the result is a cracking action game that just feels brilliant to play. One could argue it could do with a little more variety throughout its campaign, but the game's unique hack-and-shoot combat is so fun and so satisfying to pull off that you won't mind doing it over and over again. A refreshingly straightforward structure and charming dual leads round things out, but it's the inventive and tactile action where it truly sings.
Pragmata is a refreshing, refined adventure that tells a personal, grounded tale in an otherworldly setting. With traditional sensibilities, the game shows confidence in its mechanics, placing them at the forefront rather than smothering the experience with unnecessary content. Stepping back to the golden age of shooters, it manages to carve out a niche that feels both nostalgic and distinctly its own.

Pragmata marks something truly special for Capcom; an experience that manages to marry action, conflict, and story into a cohesive whole that more than justifies the long wait for expectant fans. It juggles a variety of mechanics and miraculously blends them together. Every facet of this game is explored to its fullest, with still more room to grow. For all I can say in this review, Pragmata is very special.
This charming action-adventure deserves to be a massive hit and you should take a chance on one of this year's best games.
The dynamic between Hugh and Diana, the combat, and the Cradle's explorer-friendly layout all combine into a fantastic gaming experience. Capcom continues to cook, and I am so happy with the results, I may just draw a picture.
Pragmata is a truly unique and wonderful third-person shooter. It's a throwback to linear action games of old, and thankfully its undercooked story isn't enough to diminish the quality of the brilliant hacking focused action.

After years of anticipation and numerous previews, we can finally confirm it: Pragmata is indeed the surprise we've been waiting for. With refreshing gameplay and a pair of highly endearing protagonists, Capcom's new franchise plunges us into the heart of a fabulous world that we enjoy roaming from start to finish, despite a few minor flaws here and there. And while these flaws may prevent the game from having as significant impact as we originally hoped for, it remains a resounding success for the studio, which continues to deliver new, original games that are a breath of fresh air.

Don't space out; Capcom's PRAGMATA is a stellar, action-packed game that will have you over the moon... Well, on the moon. The multifaceted combat system, lunar setting, and gripping story come together to deliver a tense, atmospheric, and heartfelt story about survival and a meaningful bond, although it does suffer from some slight predictability.
Capcom's Pragmata is a truly inventive & surprisingly emotional take on the sci-fi shooter, and another tremendous outing in the company's ongoing hot streak.

Though none of its individual pieces is all that original: a sci-fi setting where a tragedy has befallen a space station, a side content emphasis and a cute young companion aiding you on your journey, Pragmata is still a certifiably damn good time. Though we’ve seen plenty of hacking in games before, its intrinsic link within the combat makes for some juicy action-packed and tactile fights that feel satisfying to pull off. Diana, while not the deepest of characters, endears the player and is a trusty sidekick with her technological know-how that aids the protagonist’s combat prowess. Less of an evolution for Capcom and more of an homage and fusion of their prior works under a new skin, Pragmata may not light the world on fire, but it is still a great success with plenty of promise should they choose to revisit its world in a sequel. A worthy space mission indeed.
Pragmata shines as a new IP that rarely plays it safe. Confident in its vision and unique third-person hacking combat, Capcom uses the relationship between its two protagonists to deliver an action game with plenty of heart.
