Rhythm Paradise Groove is a rhythm-filled extravaganza that completely sweeps you away. That is, provided you’re prepared to put your ego aside and let your timing be put to the test. It’s charming, chaotic, musical and, at times, downright brutal. But when everything clicks, when you feel the beat and the mini-games become one fluid dance, this is exactly the sort of game that turns a dull evening into a rhythmic party.

Rhythm Paradise Groove marks a joyful and substantial return for Nintendo’s long‑dormant rhythm series, offering a huge selection of quirky minigames and a polished audiovisual experience. Despite a divisive Beatspell RPG mode and a few uneven challenges, the game delivers hours of inventive, charming rhythm action both solo and with friends.

When I think about Rhythm Heaven Groove a year from now, or even ten, I won't think about a list of what it does or does not include. I'll think about the hours it had me pacing around my kitchen. I'll think about the years it had me reflect on and the memories it reminded me of. I'll remember how I came to terms with one of my biggest fears in life, the years that go by and never come back. Through it all, I'll keep tapping my foot to the beat, hoping to anchor myself to the moment, and remember to breathe every once and a while.
Some games go viral, this one is a sound-shaped virus that finds a home between your ears and nests there for days. Rhythm Paradise Groove is an amazing rhythm game full of silly ideas and sound effects that are impossible to forget. The controls are intuitive and the various minigames will keep you busy for days. This is an easy recommend for every Nintendo Switch owner of almost any age.
Rhythm Heaven Groove is an excellent new entry in the beloved series, introducing several great features, with fun gameplay, incredible visuals, and a fantastic soundtrack.
It’s hard for us to say whether Rhythm Paradise: Groove represents the pinnacle of the entire series. What we can say with certainty, however, is that Nintendo has succeeded in the difficult task of reviving a series that had been dormant for over ten years without betraying its identity—and, in fact, enriching it with a wealth of content and ideas that make it more unique than ever. In short, Rhythm Paradise: Groove once again proves itself to be a little gem, one of the most successful rhythm games of recent years, and a purchase that every fan of the genre—and, more broadly, every console owner—should seriously consider. And if this truly is the Nintendo Switch’s swan song, then it’s hard to imagine a better farewell.

548 Rhythm Heaven Groove was a long-awaited title for Nintendo's first Switch console, and it doesn't disappoint fans of the rhythm game series. Its difficulty remains consistent, if not increased, in the later levels compared to previous installments, while visually it retains its distinctive art style so familiar from WarioWare games. While unlocking the basic minigames takes a few hours, unlocking all the additional content demands truly honed skills, which encourages replayability.

Even though Beatspell falls a bit short of the mark, Rhythm Heaven Groove is still a triumph through and through, offering up some of the best rhythm-based antics the series has seen to date. I can only hope that Nintendo doesn’t decide to lay it to rest for another couple of console generations before it decides to revisit this criminally underrated franchise.
Rhythm Paradise Groove never overcomplicates things. It’s all about feeling the rhythm, reacting at the right time, and trying again when you mess up. There are no sprawling skill trees, endless checklists, or unnecessary progression systems designed to artificially extend the experience. Instead, Nintendo places complete faith in a deceptively simple idea: if the music is catchy, the gameplay satisfying, and the presentation charming enough, players will naturally want to improve. And turns out, Nintendo was right. Looking back, I realized something that genuinely surprised me. I never became particularly good at Rhythm Paradise Groove. Even after dozens of completed minigames, countless retries, and more than a few bruises to my musical ego, I still wouldn’t describe myself as someone blessed with impeccable rhythm. The results screen continued to remind me of that often enough. Yet somehow, I never really cared, because somewhere along the way, I stopped worrying about chasing perfect scores. I started enjoying the process of getting a little better each time. That’s a difficult feeling to manufacture, and it’s one Rhythm Paradise Groove captures beautifully. Perhaps that’s the biggest compliment I can give Nintendo’s long-awaited return, since it didn’t transform me into someone with perfect rhythm (sorry to my family). It transformed someone with absolutely no rhythm into someone who couldn’t wait to press “Retry.” And if a rhythm game can accomplish that, it’s doing something very, very right.
Rhythm Heaven Groove follows the franchise formula very closely, building a familiar but robust toy box for fans of the beat. Lag is the number one concern! We recommend playing in handheld mode, and choosing headphones carefully if necessary. Still, it's worth the care.
Rhythm Paradise Groove is funny, fun, and even educational. It is just a shame that it falls short in a few places. But if you can look past the poor first impression, you will discover that it is a great little game for some entertainment and rhythm practice.

Despite a few minor snags, though, Rhythm Heaven Groove is just plain fun. With an extensive library of single-player and multiplayer mini-games, every stage offers a unique and engaging challenge that ensures the game never feels stale.
Rhythm Paradise Groove is delightfully fun as always, offering new levels with the same charm and quality we’ve come to expect from the series. This game is playable on both the Switch 1 and Switch 2. Ideal, therefore, for anyone who owns a Switch system, especially since it also costs slightly less than most Nintendo games in 2026.

It’s been a long time since the last Rhythm Paradise game, but the wait has been worth it. With so many challenging and addictive rhythm-based minigames for solo play or multiplayer fun, players will have hours upon hours of fun at their fingertips. Players will be moving and grooving in Rhythm Paradise Groove.
Despite its minor hiccups, Rhythm Paradise Groove is yet another incredible addition to the Rhythm Paradise series that fans will be grooving too for a long time. Just make sure you play it in handheld mode, though, just to be safe.
Rhythm Heaven Groove shows the franchise hasn’t lost its rhythm. It’s everything long-time fans hoped it would be, yet accessible enough for new players to enjoy. It’s one of Nintendo’s most charming and consistently fun rhythm games in years.
Rhythm Heaven Groove is a great sequel and an easy recommendation for anyone who already enjoys the franchise or wants to check out one of Nintendo's most creative rhythm games. It’s the kind of game that always leaves you feeling like you can play "just one more song."

Rhythm Heaven Groove is the comeback the franchise deserved after eleven years of silence. It didn't reinvent the wheel—and it didn't need to. It expanded on what worked, added Beatspell as a genuinely exciting new feature, and delivered over 80 surreal minigames ranging from frog marches to wrestling on bouncy balls, all while staying true to itself.
