Planet Zoo 2 Reviews
The animals are superstars, but they don't quite make up for the fiddly, frustrating micromanagement.
With lovely visual upgrades to its sprawling roster of land, air, and sea-dwelling animals and exciting expanded mechanics, Planet Zoo 2 is a vibrant and thriving sequel.
Planet Zoo 2 is a stupendous upgrade over Frontier's first effort from 2019.
Planet Zoo 2 is a worthy sequel that expands the franchise in new directions while keeping intact the core gameplay.
An intricately designed zoo and nature reserve simulator whose well designed interface and controller implementation make it as accessible as anything of this complexity could be.
Planet Zoo 2 is an impressive sequel featuring stunning graphics, realistic animal behaviour, aquariums, aviaries and improved building tools.
Planet Zoo 2 is a great addition to the 'Planet' franchise and a must-have for people who love creative management games. The game offers the extraordinary level of customisation I've come to expect from Frontier, and the large number of additions over its predecessor offer plenty to both existing fans and new players alike. The game will no doubt continue to grow over the next few years with updates and DLC, but the base experience alone offers a sturdy foundation to build from.
It's an ideal game for animal lovers and those interested in species conservation, offering a wealth of information that also helps you learn about the incredible biodiversity of our planet.

Planet Zoo 2 is one of my favorite management games ever. Even with the bugs I encountered, this is one I’ll be playing for years to come. The work that went into making these animals come to life is something that shouldn’t be ignored. This whole game feels like a real labor of love.
Planet Zoo 2 is the work of UK studio Frontier Developments and the aptly titled sequel to Planet Zoo, an animal park management sim which came to PC...
Planet Zoo 2 is, in my opinion, one of the best management sims ever made.
Planet Zoo 2 has the elements in place to eventually become a worthy follow-up to its beloved predecessor, but as things stand, the experience is held back by technical issues, messy UI and controls, and some of its new ideas feeling too underbaked.
Planet Zoo 2 feels like a sequel with excellent ideas, but not always backed by equally effective execution.
Planet Zoo 2 is an engaging and rewarding management sim with gorgeous animal models and animations, alongside remarkable creative freedom. Despite a few shortcomings, some of which it has inherited from its predecessor, it is an excellent choice for players who love detailed management, though those primarily seeking a relaxing experience with animals may find it overwhelming.

Planet Zoo 2 is potentially the biggest and deepest Zoo Tycoon successor yet, but a pile of design frustrations and rough edges prevent it from soaring high.
It’s rare to find a successful blend of gaming and educational value, but Planet Zoo 2 has managed this almost perfectly without significantly compromising on playability, whilst boasting phenomenal graphics. It’s just a shame that the console version’s interface isn’t particularly user-friendly, but the emphasis on the complexity and finer details of looking after our animals is sure to bring a flush of excitement to the cheeks of enthusiasts of zootechnics and landscaping.

Embark once again on the construction of your own zoo'a captivating animal world where you can lose yourself for hours. Despite less-than-intuitive controls and minor graphical glitches, you will still enjoy the game.

It's safe to say that Planet Zoo 2 is Frontier's biggest and best game yet. It looks fantastic, has a huge range of animals, and its greater focus on conservation makes for a wholesome and rewarding experience. There's a learning curve involved, though, so be prepared to put in the time if you want to get the most out of this wonderful sim.
Planet Zoo 2 is the most comprehensive and gorgeous zoo simulator ever made, elevated by limitless building tools, aviaries, and expanded aquatic habitats. While frustrating AI pathfinding bugs, a finicky pathing system, and late-game performance drops hold it back from perfection, its mesmerizing depth will easily captivate creative minds for hundreds of hours.

Planet Zoo 2 is a wonderful example of what makes simulation games so appealing. It gives you the tools to create something personal, encourages you to experiment and rewards you for taking the time to get things right. Whether you’re designing elaborate habitats, watching a newborn animal take its first steps or expanding your zoo into a thriving attraction, there is a tremendous amount to enjoy. The introduction of aquatic animals, aviaries and natural reserves makes this feel like a meaningful evolution of the original formula, rather than simply another collection of animals and building pieces. The stronger conservation focus is particularly welcome, giving your efforts a purpose beyond entertaining visitors and keeping the finances in the black. It isn’t perfect, though. The management systems can become demanding, and the Xbox interface occasionally makes simple tasks more awkward than they should be. A few rough edges also take the shine off an otherwise impressive experience. These issues are worth acknowledging, but they don’t erase the sheer amount of creativity and enjoyment on offer. If you love management games, enjoy getting creative or simply want to build a wildlife park that you can call your own, this is an easy recommendation. It may ask for patience, but the reward is a living, breathing world that you can shape one habitat at a time. So, get those gates open, keep your animals happy and remember to watch the budget. Your visitors are waiting, and there’s a whole wild world to build!
