Star Wars: Zero Company delivers a deep and accessible tactical experience that makes excellent use of the Star Wars universe without relying solely on its license. Its varied characters, talent trees, team synergies, and base progression offer plenty of room to experiment, while the campaign provides an interesting story with several surprises. The experience can become repetitive over time, and technical issues and an occasionally frustrating camera hold it back.

Star Wars Zero Company brings the saga into turn-based tactical strategy with an accessible formula, challenging battles and plenty of management between missions. Its atmosphere and soundtrack stand out, although repetition and several technical issues clearly hold the overall experience back.

STAR WARS Zero Company places the player at the heart of its gripping adventure with a story and narrative voice worthy of the franchise. Its difficulty-based system adjustments also draw in those unfamiliar with the genre. However, its technical issues and the luck-driven nature of an attack system that offers little room to read the odds may push players away, especially alongside enemies that grow tougher as encounters become more complex in the later hours.

Are you a fan of XCOM or Star Wars? Then Star Wars Zero Company is exactly the sort of game you’ve been waiting for. If you’re a fan of both, this is a must-buy. The combination of a well-written story, in-depth tactical combat and a base of operations you can really lose yourself in means that, without a doubt, I consider this to be the best Star Wars game in years.

Despite some technical glitches and minor gripes, Star Wars Zero Company is an all around phenomenal experience. A stunning new story delivers on highly engaging characters, while the refined tactical gameplay will keep players coming back for more and more. It's not only a great entry into the Star Wars franchise, but the turn-based tactics genre on the whole.

Zero Company doesn't reinvent tactical RPGs but the combination of excellent combat, a lovable crew and an uniquely authentic Star Wars story makes this an easy recommendation for fans of both. It carries over some of XCOM's rougher edges along with its best ideas, but when it comes together, it really sings.

While its character writing may provide enough enjoyment to make it worth seeing through, Star Wars Zero Company feels too mechanically thin to achieve its galaxy-wide ambitions.

Star Wars: Zero Company is a particularly interesting game. The story of Hawks and the Zero Company took us on an adventure through the Galaxy Far, Far Away that let us appreciate Star Wars, even without being big fans of it. Although the conceptual foundation recalls the standards set by XCOM, Bit Reactor's production introduces a series of interesting and clever changes that completely shake up the rhythm of combat.

Star Wars Zero Company boasts brilliant tactical gameplay, thanks to the synergies between squads and careful base management. However, this great potential is undermined by a technical performance on the PS5 that is simply unacceptable, with frequent stuttering and exploration mechanics that are entirely unnecessary.

Star Wars Zero Company finally delivers on the XCOM style Star Wars experience fans have wanted, and the result is fantastic. It intertwines beautiful, cinematic presentation with some of the sharpest writing and storytelling the series has seen in years and the thrilling, strategic edge of turn-based tactical RPGs. While its technical issues and lack of optimization can prove to be frustrating even on console, the core experience remains gorgeous and deeply compelling. It’s something rare for modern Star Wars: a bold, exciting take on the mythos, and one that actually sparks some genuine intrigue for where the series goes next.
