If you’re a big online person, Resident Evil 6 is worth picking up as we know its multiplayer modes will be expanding. However if it’s the story you’re after, you might be better off sitting this one out, you’re not missing much.

What we have here is an incredibly long, incredibly flawed, and yet paradoxically engaging experience. I can't say you should go to Steam right now and pay $40 for this game. But sometime down the line, when you have a long weekend with nothing to do, you might notice it on sale and pick it up. And you won't quite regret it.

One of the best things about Resident Evil 6 is its immense amount of content. The game is packed with four campaigns, playable in online and split-screen co-op. That alone is 20+ hours of content, even if only experienced once. Factor in all the online modes, and the experience is more than worth its price tag. Fans looking to scratch the survival horror itch will likely still not come away impressed by the direction the series has taken. Resident Evil has become more of an action-horror game; a change I have welcomed with open arms.

It’s definitely a good game, one that shows promise for an action focused future in the Resident Evil franchise, but too many little annoyances add up to prevent it from being a great game.

I guess in the end, the problem with Resident Evil 6 is that it doesn’t have an identity. It wants to please its survival-horror fanbase, but seems to have forgotten how to walk that fine line between tense action and frustrating challenge.

I didn't think it was possible but the Resident Evil games have gotten as loud, dumb and tiresome as the Resident Evil movies. Overcomplicated mechanics, a confusing, schizophrenic campaign split four ways and a ridiculous plot that doesn't just break suspension of disbelief but blends it into a smoothie make Resident Evil 6 a real chore to get through.

The same game that we played a few years ago on old-gen consoles, but adapted to modern day hardware and with a lot of extra content. This one may not be the best RE out there, but it's still enjoyable.

Overall, this "remaster" is more port than anything else, and while the 60fps visuals are awesome and a welcome treat that I honestly wasn't expecting, RE6 is still RE6, and still pretty damn ugly to boot. I will stand by the fact that these versions really are the best versions available on console, but they pale in comparison to the PC version from four years ago.

‎It is true that ‎‎the script is not novel, nor surprising, that it is a fairly linear adventure and there are campaigns that stand out from others,‎‎but for the price at which it is it is a good opportunity to enter a saga that we doubt will be as it was in the past. Therefore, you have to get used to this form of game, since ‎‎ ‎‎Capcom‎‎ ‎‎will bet on this line (it sold quite well, despite the criticism) and will leave the most classic form of game to other deliveries such as the Revelations subsaga. Therefore, if you manage to overlook the loss of the survival horror component, you will find a very good adventure.‎

The same linear, patronisingly simplistic time waster it always was, but if you really must have a remaster of Resident Evil 6 this isn’t a bad job.

‎Resident Evil 6 is an ambitious game, but it does not recover the essence of the first titles of the saga by building a plot that is too complex and somewhat excessive. However, it is a very entertaining title that on PS4 and Xbox One looks perfect.‎

It’s not enough to say that Resident Evil 6 is poor as a Resident Evil game. That alone implies there could be a quality experience if fans can get past their preconceptions and feelings of betrayal. No, Resident Evil 6 is poor by the standards of any game, not just the high ones set by its own legacy.

Looking back on the Leon campaign there were a lot of action button sequences that I felt were a little uncharacteristic for a Resident Evil game, but most of these took place during long boss battles. I’ve been hesitant on divulging information about Resident Evil 6’s story line. I feel many die hard fans will be disappointed with the interweaving of so many characters into one game. Usually a Resident Evil game has you controlling the same duo of characters for most the game, giving plenty of time to establish a well thought out story and connection between characters. However cool the idea of having our heroes together in one game seems, it isn’t well executed.

Resident Evil 6 isn’t a bad game; it’s just not that impressive. It’s easy to see why so many where disappointed when it first came out, but if you go in this expecting a fun action game, it’s defiantly worth checking out, especially at only $20. Long time fans, however, will be left wanting more.

While still not my favorite in the series, it’s still a fun action game, especially with a buddy going through it with you. Also, for 20 bucks, you’re getting a giant package. A full 25-30 hour campaign, tons of multiplayer modes, and a really solid looking action horror game. The Resident Evil fans should really pick this up even if it isn’t the best game in the series.

Boasting a mostly decent remastering effort and a much welcomed wealth of content set against a frustratingly incoherent set of campaign scenarios and frustrating clunkiness, Resident Evil 6 on PS4 is the definitive edition of the series’ most divisive entry and is perhaps more easily recommended to the uninitiated rather than those who were turned off by the game’s original PS3 outing.

Four years after the original release, Resident Evil 6 is pretty much the same game. The HD version shows the usual technical improvements of many other remaster (1080p and 60 frame per second), but nothing more. Disappointing for the fanbase, Resident Evil 6 is a huge title but is somehow inconsistent, unable to pursue neither the fast paced action of the fourth chapter, nor the survival horror spirit of the origins.
