Dishonored 2 gives fans even more of the innovative gameplay that made us fall in love with the original.
“Dishonored 2” is one of those games that seems ripe for YouTube or Twitch. It offers an excellent platform for high-level players to strut their stuff. Alas, because it is a decent but inessential sequel, I will not be revisiting the game to perfect my technique.
Dishonored 2 has expanded on the original game in a number of ways, creating a world with a bigger scale. The gameplay builds on what was offered in the first game, with more options of how to approach situations and Emily’s powers adding further variety if you choose to play as her. What lets it down is that it’s missing a truly compelling narrative and cast of interesting secondary characters, and while it’s a very enjoyable game, it lacks some of the charm of the original.
Dishonored 2 proves to be a return to a classic formula that worked so well in the orginal. Strong level design, open world exploration and the ability to play your own way with powers that can be adapted or modified how you want makes the game one of the top titles of the year. Now to start working on my low chaos playthrough.
Every bit as intelligent and daring as its predecessor, and if you’re prepared to be equally creative while playing it then Dishonored 2 offers almost endless rewards.
This is a game that makes you feel like a badass without even giving you full access to the utility belt. An experience that might not even give you something at the end of an arduous tunnel other than a brief glimpse of sunlight -- and that's enough.
Dishonored 2 will successfully function for both fans of the series and those who pick it up for the first time. With a robust side-quest system, you'll find the game has much to discover. That, and the ability to play the game how you want and rewarding you for taking a more challenging course, make Dishonored 2 a rousing success. This game isn't hard to pick up and play, but it will be almost impossible to put down.
Arkane Studios' sequel constantly and delightfully engages our minds with its characters, lore, sense of discovery, and satisfying mechanics
Dishonored 2 is going to keep stealth game fans busy for quite a while this holiday season. Every level is meticulously crafted, with more emphasis on verticality to enhance some of the new powers introduced. Additional hidden level goals are discovered organically, and while enemies can be hilariously clumsy, they are also adept pathfinders. With a nuanced story, two protagonists to play as, and multiple endings, Dishonored 2 begs, or rather, deserves to be played again and again.
Trumping the first in nearly every way, Dishonored 2 is at the very top of the list of "must play" first-person action games in 2016. Causing bloody chaos or sticking to the shadows, Arkane gives players the tools to run wild in this new world. This brand of gameplay combined with a beautiful presentation and plenty of customization leads to fun playthroughs of Dishonored 2 whether its your first time or your fifth.
Dishonored 2 is an amazing game. Played entirely in first-person, the freedom it bestows players closely resembles that of the Elder Scrolls games. Although the game is broken up into distinct levels rather than an open world, each chapter is huge and filled with atmosphere, detail, and myriad nooks and crannies to explore. The Empire really feels like a believable steampunk world, one with countless stories to tell.
Simply put, Dishonored 2 is a must play for stealth fans and an easy recommendation for most gamers.
There is a type of artistry in Dishonored 2 that is unique to video games.
Deliciously dark stealth adventure returns to tempt players into a trap-like city of wary guards and architectural puzzles
A perfect example of what can happen when world design, story and game mechanics click harmoniously into place, Dishonored 2 is just as good as we’d hoped it would be. Dust off that sword, pull on that mask and slink into the shadows for this year’s stand-out sandbox adventure.
Dishonored 2 is not here to make a revolution but has succeeded in the essential: improving a formula that has already proven its worth four years ago. With its artistic direction that delivers a sublime city, its two assassins as well as a level-design mastered to perfection that pushes exploration and leaves players a real freedom of action, Dishonored has become in just two opuses a reference of the genre.

By throwing you into its gloriously open missions with a bag full of tricks, running wild in Dishonored 2's fascinating world of stealth playgrounds never fails to be both fun and challenging. While anyone who doesn't have the patience for its particular brand of methodical exploration will likely find the experience tedious, if you can commit to trying to ghost your way through its lengthy campaign, even disappointing shortcomings – especially in terms of its story – likely won't stop you from having a whale of a time.
The first Dishonored title offered levels with multiple paths, but the recent iteration takes that concept and runs with it.
