Now and then I love a good stealth game and that is what I have today. Sniper Elite 4 combines stealth gameplay with being a sniper very well, and I believe that this is also a wonderful port. So how does this game manage that? Let’s find out.

Ultimately, Sniper Elite 4 not only carries on a tradition of excellence for the franchise, but elevates it to new heights. The focus on stealth and long-range combat provides for a rather unique experience among shooters. Larger levels and multi-use items provide even more freedom over past entries to tackle missions in whatever way you want. The biggest complaint is that finding an online multiplayer match may be difficult without friends, but if you can find one, it works well. If you're looking for a new shooter to dive into, Sniper Elite 4 should be at the top of your list.

The Switch has now been out for about 3 years, in that time we have seen quite a few older Triple A titles get re-released onto the Switch. Games like Skyrim and LA Noire and newer games like Doom 2016. Of the many titles we have seen varied performance.

Sniper Elite 4 is a title that will appeal to both casual players and fans of the genre, especially those who prefer stealth. The Switch port has some visual problems that take away some of the charm, but the gameplay experience is good. The game is not a Triple A, but it achieves the same quality as one.

Rebellion keeps impressing me with how well they’ve been able to port their more hardware demanding games for the Switch. Sniper Elite 4 is, without a doubt, their best title in the platform so far. It features great visuals, a surprisingly stable framerate, and the best level design in the series so far.

With expansive sandbox levels, some thrilling stealth action, and (of course) those magnificent X-ray kill cam shots it’s easy to see why this fourth iteration of Rebellion’s popular series is generally considered the most well rounded. With that being said, the seams are beginning to show this long after the original release, and while the Switch manages to pull off the action behind the scope exactly the way you’d expect, your mileage with the middle of the road visuals and mostly bland story may vary. If you have an Xbox or PlayStation its likely you already have the game for free, as it’s included in Game Pass and was a PlayStation Plus giveaway last year. If you only own a Switch or are looking for a game of this type to play on the go however, you’ll find plenty of content to like behind the $40 price tag.

If you’re a fan of the Sniper Elite franchise, Sniper Elite 4 on Nintendo Switch is definitely worth checking out. It’s a new campaign in the series with necessary improvements from the last installment, while fans from other platforms can enjoy their favorite Sniper Elite Italian campaign from the comfort of their bed or on their commute to work. Sniper Elite 4 brings snipers into new locations featuring ruined castles, bayside watchtowers, vast orchards, underground tunnels, occupied cities, and far more. The scope of the game may seem common on Xbox One and PS4, but these vast sandbox areas are impressive on the Nintendo Switch when it’s undocked. Rebellion Developments have improved upon the game through updates already and it’s likely that they’ll continue to make the experience silkier smooth moving forward. I personally encountered some issues that were solved by the team swiftly and I commend the developers for that.

Sniper Elite 4 performs well overall on the Nintendo Switch and provides an opportunity to play the game on the go. There are no noticeable technical issues, and shooting enemy soldiers with perfectly-placed lung shots is still enjoyable. The Joy-Cons are not ideal for lining up each shot due to the twitchy nature, but they don't hold back an overly enjoyable experience.

The Sniper Elite series has always been an interesting red-headed step-child off to the side of the FPS genre...

Sniper Elite 4 is the best entry yet in this long-running franchise with great big meaty missions stuffed to bursting point with Nazis to snipe and stab in glorious slo-mo X-ray vision. There's a new-found flexibility to the gameplay, with Karl now able to shimmy and scurry vertically around levels and enemy AI that's much more up to the task than in previous iterations. There may be some slightly rough edges, with duff writing, naff characters and gameplay that doesn't change much from start to finish but, overall, this is playful sniper's paradise that lands on Switch in a truly impressive port. It's time to dust off that M1903 Springfield, find a nice vantage point and get to blowing great big bloody holes in fascist heads. The perfect antidote to 2020.

Going in it seemed like this was just going to be Sniper Elite 3 again but Sniper Elite 4 blows that game out of the water. It's such a complete package and one that feels so at home on much more powerful consoles that the absolute quality shining off this port easily puts it at the top of the war games available on the platform. Further highlighting developer Rebellion's fantastic work on the Nintendo Switch platform. Opening up the series to a completely new group of gamers who will hopefully love the brutal sniping action they have so sumptuously crafted. Don't sleep on this game.

Sniper Elite 4 for Nintendo Switch is a good porting of the original game published in 2017.

Sniper Elite 4 manages to offer a unique approach to shooter games, thanks to its deep and articulated sniping mechanics. Yet, the release on Switch doesn't even try to hide its age and feels shallow and forgettable. If you love this kind of game, probably Switch isn't the best choice where to play it.

Sniper Elite 4 takes its perch as the marquee, non-arcade sniping title on the market. Through its strategic gameplay, disgustingly explosive kill cutscenes, and jam-packed sandboxes, Sniper Elite 4 satiates the need for a World War II shooter, while not getting dragged down by the norms of the genre. Even with some technical hiccups and a less-than-likable protagonist, Sniper Elite 4 achieves, takes aim, hits its mark, and then some.

Sniper Elite 4 is a superb adaptation, capable of shrinking Karl Fairburne's Italian adventure into a pocket size while keeping the strengths of the original game intact. If you already played Sniper Elite 4 three years ago and aren't itching to replay it in a portable format, your savings would be better spent elsewhere, given the absence of exclusive content.

An excellent Sniping game. There’s stealth approaches as well as full firefights depending on how you approach tasks. The game also allows you to customize your experience as needed.

Whether you prefer stealth style or Rambo-like action, you will enjoy Sniper Elite 4. It has plenty of replay value and various extra gameplay modes add even more value to the final product. But don't expect anything you haven't seen in previous Sniper Elite games.

Sniper Elite is one of the best stealth action shooters. In this instalment we have wider range of movements, the mechanics are refined and we can actually finish every single level guns blazing. For the first time there is no need for stealth if we don't appreciate silence.

Sniper Elite 4 is one of those games that has something for everyone. Being a borderline recluse, I was attracted to the idea of playing as a lone wolf, but the multiplayer co-op Overwatch game was even better!
