Star Wars Battlefront 2 Reviews
It's sad to see a beloved franchise like Star Wars being destroyed by corporate greed. The only good thing to come from SWBF2 is the campaign. The rest they could have delivered in form of a $20 DLC to the first Star Wars Battlefront. The entire online progression is built around micro-transactions on a pay-to-win basis with randomized loot boxes. It's simply no fun to play in an online ecosystem like this. Shame on you, EA.
You have a uninspired campaign that boils down to a predictable and boring waste of 5 hours. A multiplayer mode that feels too arcade based to last longer than a 1 hour sitting. Then you have the loot box system locking players out of the classes they want to play and encouraging the customer to spend money so that they can feel “a sense of pride and accomplishment” If you came here wanting an exciting Star Wars story then get out because this game is not worth the money. Instead of spending a one time payment for a game you are expected to put down more as you keep playing.
Regardless of astonishing graphics and audio, Battlefront II misses the mark in more ways than not. The gameplay is a mixed experience. Combat is fluid and immersive, but ultimately frustrating due to mind-numbing grinds that can see users playing on autopilot. The game’s narrative starts off strong, but turns into a typical fable in which good conquers evil, highlighting EA’s inability to completely follow through on its promises. Lastly, the utter lack of content makes the title degenerate into repetitive monotony, despite the popularity of two of its major multiplayer modes. Battlefront II has all the potential to be a great title, but EA’s greedy fingers and lackadaisical attitude taint it beyond recognition. Gone are the days of the original Star Wars: Battlefront franchise in which single-players and multiplayers could get endless enjoyment out of each game. The result is an unhappy fanbase that will eventually hurt EA’s bottom line due to lack of confidence in the company. Until that time, EA will continue to push out barely-passable nonsense that masquerades as a AAA title, such as Star Wars: Battlefront II.
Despite all the changes and partial removals of Pay2Win elements it's still a broken mess.

With a predictable story and an in-game economy that's extortionate, we cannot recommend Star Wars Battlefront 2 to anyone at this juncture.
A game with incredible graphics and brilliant sound design that is brought down by a middling campaign and murdered by a confused and unbalanced multiplayer
The force is weak with this one.
Battlefront II is actually a rather fitting sequel to its immediate predecessor, which was itself a fun, visually phenomenal but woefully shallow and convoluted experience. Everything that was right with the original game is exactly as it was before. Everything that wasn't, however, has mutated into something more craven and significantly uglier.
Electronic Arts makes missteps at every turn in this fundamentally flawed follow-up.
I honestly don't want a game to turn out bad or anything but Battlefront 2 is a huge disappointment that carries the Star Wars brand just to sell more. Even if you're a huge Star Wars fan, don't go buying Battlefront 2 cause it's an empty, shallow and boring experience made by people who can't portray this world with style and substance made just to make EA profit from a big franchise

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will go down as one of the biggest screw ups in video game history. EA and DICE had the easiest job in the world and completely ruined it with the absolutely ridiculous and downright unacceptable progression system for multiplayer. Combine that with the incredibly boring, lazy, and cliche story campaign and you easily have the biggest disappointment of 2017.
There is a great game here desperately gasping to escape the force choke of corporate greed, but at launch, it’s a decisive L for gamers everywhere.
If you love Star Wars and want to play online with friends, you be better off picking up the Ultimate Edition of the original Star Wars Battlefront or just wait until this embarrassment is in the bargain bin. The Force is not with this one.
Uncomfortable microtransactions and questionable changes completely ruin a faithful, fun Star Wars experience.
Star Wars Battlefront is back and EA has switched an expensive season pass for a ludicrous microtransaction system. The game sure does look and sound good and the gameplay is somewhat nice but it doesn't respect the players time and the much hyped single-player-campaing is undercooked to say the least.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 is the prequel trilogy: overwrought and complicated, with none of the heart that drew us here in the first place.
As much as I loathe this implementation of loot boxes, I still keep playing Battlefront II and I will probably continue to do so on and off. I mean, I do like the game. I just wish it wasn't being squandered like this. You'd be well-advised to wait until overhauls arrive -- assuming they ever do.
You may be able to get [your money's worth] of fun out of Star Wars Battlefront 2, but don't expect the fun to last.
