Left Alive Reviews
The sort of crushing disappointment that only comes around once in a while, Left Alive feels like an emaciated, innovation bereft meditation on Metal Gear Solid and in matching up so poorly with its inspiration, provides the Front Mission franchise with arguably its weakest entry in years.
This third-person stealth action game is better left alone.
A game bursting with interesting ideas but dragged down by a lack of technical competence and some very outdated ideas about game design and controls.
It's a stealth or action game and is rubbish at both. The AI will drive you up the wall and the three protagonists are forgettable. There is absolutely nothing, other than some beautiful artwork and a decent soundtrack, that leaves any hope alive of it being any good.
Left Alive is one of those titles that feels like its genre is going through a slump. Whatever the creators have been trying to create, the result is just a weak attempt to satisfy the fans of the tactical stealth action genre. This Front Mission spin-off will disappoint almost everyone.

Left Alive is a tremendously disappointing return to the Front Mission universe.
There are moments of really great gameplay and narrative that shine through, and I believe that a few sizable patches could make Left Alive a decent game.
Left Alive's mix of inconsistent stealth and aggravatingly unbalanced action make it a complete chore to play, and it runs terribly to boot.
Although Left Alive has an interesting story and atmosphere, it is extremely frustrating with its blatant game design flaws.

Left Alive promises stealth gameplay much like Metal Gear Solid, but it fails to deliver because of broken AI, weak storyline, and poor graphics.
After playing this game for nearly 2 dozen hours, I can rightfully say that it is not worth it. As much as I would like to see this through to the end, I just don’t have the patience to put up with it’s janky controls. I have died in the most absurd ways, with little to no fairness in any of them. Unless you are really interested in the story and how the side stories play out, I really can’t recommend this game. I may come to the game eventually, just to tie up loose ends. But the way it is right now. I’d rather put a hold on that for now.
“Left Alive insists you play it smart and conservative, but the combat has the potential to get stale early on. Having to revisit past locations with different characters magnifies the lack of variety, both in combat and level design.”
Left Alive is a boring mess that succeeds as neither a stealth game or a third-person shooter.
Left Alive is the worst game of 2019 so far and it's not worth more than 20$. The game is full of nice ideas but developers could not find a good use of them in the game.

Left Alive fails to deliver a modern stealth experience. A good story can't save the total mess of a game with too many flaws and too many frustrating moments.

Left Alive won't satisfy fans of stealth or of Front Mission. With unengaging gameplay, erratic AI, and a lack of polish across the board, Left Alive won't be remembered in the years to come.
Left Alive is surprisingly simple, yet somehow manages to get so much wrong.
Left Alive is a title that at the beginning promised a lot - that really delighted - by the people behind the development, namely, having the mythical Yoji Shinkawa for the artistic section, the direction of a large one with a more discreet image As Toshifumi Nabeshima and with the support of Square Enix the ground looked very fertile for something big, but putting the ceiling high almost never goes well and unfortunately this game does not meet the expectation.

Left Alive's ambitious ideas are held back by a myriad of design and technical problems.
Anyone who like unfairly hard games may enjoy this but everyone else should just skip this game. I waited to see if a patch would maybe make it better but that patch never came. I can’t say it isn’t worth the time or money because I’m sure someone will enjoy it, but there are so many better stealth and action games out there that I refuse to put a price point on any half baked recommendation I could give this. Just don’t pay full price because that is highway robbery.
