Maneater Reviews
Please do yourself a favor and check out Maneater if you enjoy anything about games in general, especially if you like the themes of aquatic wildlife, social satire, over-the-top comic violence, or open-world exploration; you won’t regret it.
It's not perfect and it is quite repetitive but I wasn't bothered. Maneater is a game we've not seen the likes of before and I hope it inspires more like it. Go and buy Maneater and experience what it's like to be the ultimate Apex Predator.
Tripwire Interactive has managed to capture what it feels like to be Jaws, right down to jumping out of the water, landing on a boat, and chomping away at the hunters on it. That in and of itself is a momentous achievement to accomplish.
Once Maneater sinks its jaws into you, you will be entertained from start to finish.
I was hooked from start to finish, as this over-the-top shark simulator is incredibly well rounded and feature-packed. There is nothing fishy about its shameless violence and savage humour, its polished to perfection. Trust your gut feeling and dive into this headfirst for the definitive apex predator experience!
Maneater's deep combat and deeper oceans provide just the type of blissful escapism we need right now.
What Maneater lacks in variety, it more than makes up for in pure unbridled, delicious carnage.
Maneater is a game made by people who knew the limitations imposed by their budget, the current gen of consoles, and the overall nature of open world games. They managed to craft an incredibly polished murderfest experience that makes you want to kill everything in sight due to how fun its gameplay is.
Maneater is basically Feeding Frenzy on steroids, it’s just an awesome gnarly and fun time.
DID SOMEBODY SAY SHARK?! Now if you are like me, I have always found sharks unbelievably fascinating; the great big beasts of the sea and the different types have always been a slight interest of mine. So, if you are a huge fan of the Jaws movies or even shark week then WELCOME TO MANEATER.
ManEater is a unique experience that has you assert your dominance on the top of the food chain through cartoonish levels of carnage.
The folks at Tripwire Interactive did make some visuals sacrifices to make Maneater run on the Nintendo Switch, but even so, it’s one of the finest examples of how you should handle a port. From accessibility to maintaining a good framerate. On top of that, it’s a fantastic open world game that doesn’t pad itself out and has a very clear design goal. Also, you get to be a shark! What more do you want?

Taking the core of Hungry Shark for mobile phones and bringing it into full 3D with a reality tv show twist.
Maneater palys safe. He chooses simple mechanics and proposes them in ad ten and more hours loop, but in doing so, however, it makes the right choice, because Maneater is a well crafted and fun title. Those who are not afraid to do the same thing over and over again to become the lord of the oceans will find flesh for their teeth.

There simply isn’t anything else like it, even if it does follow some of the more rote open-world playbook rules when it comes to progression and collectibles. A choppy framerate in intense sequences is really one of the only things holding the experience back, but like a fisherman without a hand—or a leg—it doesn’t stop me from heading back to the open water for more.
Maneater is just the type of game a shark enthusiast, such as myself, has been waiting for. The sharks get their revenge on humans and other predators as it grows. The combat and swimming systems work very well, and mix well with the blood and gore that gives a realistic feel to the title. I loved most aspects of the game and the story and will enjoy playing it through to completion to reach the ultimate evolution. For $39.99 USD this is a very beautiful game about sharks and while some areas may lack fullness it is worth that price.
It lets players give in to their destructive tendencies, piling on dry humor in the most absurdly entertaining ways. Maneater is a rare breed indeed, and it’s well worth spending time with.
Maneater is enjoyable at best. It’s the kind of game that doesn’t require a lot of thinking and just lets you enjoy as a shark along with the hilarious know-it-all-of-shark narrator. So here are the things you need to know to enjoy Maneater: turn off your brain, do not be picky with your food, and just evolve into the Mega Shark.
For what it is and what it wants to be, Maneater is an infectiously fun open world title that follows familiar grounds in terms of design, presenting a unique gameplay loop however that will satisfy fans of these legendary predators.
I'd be lying if I said I'm not happy with the pace my life has taken from a while to this part. Understand me, I keep crying every night when I remember the moment my mother is murdered. Luckily, that made me a lot stronger. I survived death and evolved beyond what many believed to be impossible. Now, I'm a perfectly oiled killing machine that has learned from your mistakes with this look into the past provided to me by Maneater. And if anyone bothers me, I'll rip the flesh off so hard that he'll want to be in hell.
